For all the good stuff that we've heard about VoDT, there's been a lot of stuff that has left people worried. Ranging of course from the "seven swords" quest to the choice to go in 3D. My question is out of all the recent controversial topics, what are a few you are the most worried about and what are a few you're the least worried over?
Personally, I'm the most worried about character motivations and limitations being handled correctly, and how another quest to save Narnia could effect them. I'm least worried about the consolidation of islands from 7 to five as long as the themes and pace of the film are strengthened.
To be honest I'm not worried over the changes, some I feel it is better. I still love for the fact Gresham or Apted I can't remember which, but said VDT will be along the magical lines of LWW. I hope it reaches the high standards LWW was because PC just was not the land of Narnia I felt.
The only thing that bothers me is that I dont want the unnecesarry subplots like the MLG going overboard and distracting the main plot of what the story is about. They did too much of that in PC, it's time to get back on track.

I'm most worried about the voice change for Reep. I wish they tried to stay consistent, I'm afrain that it will be distracting.
I'm the least worried about the 3-D so far, as long as they work carefully in converting it I think it will be okay. And there is always a 2-D option.
"The mountains are calling and I must go, and I will work on while I can, studying incessantly." -John Muir
"Be cunning, and full of tricks, and your people will never be destroyed." -Richard Adams, Watership Down
While I'm completely against the decision to convert the film to 3D, I'm not worried about it because the 2D version will still be shown in theater as well. If the converted 3D looks bad it won't personally effect me since I won't be seeing it in 3D.
There really isn't anything I'm worried about at this point. Once trailers and more plot details emerge, that may all change, but for now everything looks fine from where I stand.
I think, even after all this crazy information we have been getting, I am most worried about Reepicheep's voice change.
but I am least worried about everything else.....

I am also worried about the voice change...we were used to the voice in PC and it fit perfectly...so will have to get used to the change.
Will try to watch the 2D and 3D versions, but that is also a big change for me....everything doesnt have to be in 3D and were not meant to be in 3D and VODT is one of them. Will have to prepare myself for that change!

Pardon me, I'm not meaning to bring in more controversy but I seriously do not think the voice change for Reepicheep is a huge deal to be concerned about. Three years has passed in Narnia so Reepicheep could be getting a little bit older, most animals skip human years within a year. Besides Bill Nighy is a great actor including voice actor. If you don't think about this voice change and sit back and relax in the theaters without thinking about it you will enjoy it. Especially if his character is of importance like it was in the book surely I hope you give Reep a chance instead of worrying over the voice over. That's not fun.
There's other changes I feel are more important to be concerned about then Bill Nighy doing the voice of Reepicheep.

My main concern is that they are missing the whole point of of the story. VDT is not about a voyage to save Narnia from some unfathomable fate. It's about the excitement of sailing into the unknown, the anticipation of what might be found, and most importantly... the longing for one's true home and ultimately the joy of finding it.
I am most concerned about the seven swords and, of course, Gael. (I hope she's only there for a few scenes... ) The seven swords plot thing bothers me because I think swords have too much importance in fantasy fiction. It's just a blade, for goodness sake!
Reepicheep's voice change doesn't bother me too badly at the moment. I agree with DamselJillPole on this issue . As long as one is not focusing on it as a main point, hopefully it shouldn't stand out too badly.
The 3D issue doesn't bother me because of still being able to see it in the 2D version. I've done some research now on movies being converted to 3D in post-production and what some of the problems can be with it, but I hope it won't be too big of an issue.
I agree with glumPuddle. Unlike a change in a voice over, the plot and story of the book is more of a main concern to be worried about.
Although I am curious to understand what this unfathomable fate. I honestly think it has something to do with teaming up with the loyal friends again. But yes I would hate it if it was a 'Save Narnia' thing again when it is supposed to be a fun journey of discovery.

you are totally right! actually, let it suffice to say that I am not worried about anything in VotDT, even MLG! at this point, I have gotten over being worried about it, because it is what it is! it's already been done and filmed at all that! so worrying won't change a thing!

I think I'm probably most concerned about Gael, much more than about the seven swords. It just seems to be such a unnecessary departure from the actual story, but we shall see. I'm not bothered about the swords, I think this can work with the story rather then just being a random add-on.
What I'm least concerned about ... probably Reepicheep or the 3D thing. Like many have pointed out, 3D is optional, it's was filmed in 2D with the story in mind, I think it'll just add another element to the film. Reepicheep. It's a shame to see Izzard go, and such an obvious inconsistency with continuity, but I really can't see it effecting my enjoyment of the film that much at all.

SPOT ON! Telling the original story well in cinematic form is all that is needed. Adding an additional plot to save the world is steering away from the authors well crafted story and is in my opinion being lazy with the material. Just my two cents. Besides, you guys haven't had any coin from me in ages, so I'm due. 😉
UPDATE: I have since done a great deal of reading from various sources who attended the showing of the "super-trailer". While glumPuddle's thoughts do echo my own feelings, my perspective of what the movie should be about was slightly skewed. In particular, and I suspect glumPuddle of the same, Reepicheep is my favorite character behind Aslan. Reepicheep's theme in VDT is that longing and search for his true home. This, however, is not the theme of every character in the book. After a great deal of thought, I realize temptation is a BIG theme in VDT; Goldwater nearly destroys them all, Lucy's viewing of what her friends REALLY think, not to mention the struggles of Eustace which ultimately turn him into a Dragon. I like the new Director's take on this AND I love the fact that the scene with Lucy and Aslan will be torn straight from the book.
Lost in the woods and weary he looked into the night sky and a voice spoke to him, "As long as the moon shines, I will be with you. The day the moon no longer shines, you will be with Me."
