[Closed] Conflicting Reports about the US Premier!

Well the movie that has given us nothing but headaches and more headaches since its begun has decided to play yet another trick on us. Yep. I have found that the first US premier will not be held on the 9th, but the on eighth, in Knoxville TN.

Tickets will be available starting November 23, each ticket is 50$ which includes a meal or food of some sort along with being able to mingle with the stars of Narnia. By the way, this is all going to benefit a very good cause, Variety, the Children's Charity.

Here is the link to our news story: http://www.wbir.com/news/article/142213 ... ie-premire

Now, on to the conflicts. Not only is there a discrepancy with the date, but according to this report…

http://www.narniaweb.com/2010/11 /win-a-chance-to-host-the-us-premiere-of-dawn-treader/

We shouldn’t even know where the premier is to be held at yet, since the Operation Narnia contest does not end until December 1st. So which report is correct? Why the discrepancy? And I always thought the conflicts were exclusive to the spoilers.

Sorry, the 2nd link won't work, we're having issues fixing it above (evil gremlins :-s) so here it is again:

Personally I find this quite confusing... (nn's the one who found the report by the way :P)
First the spoilers, then the soundtrack, and now the premiere.... Ahhh!

When will the NYC movie premiere be taking place ? This isn`t affiliated with any contest or charity. This would be a standard premiere. Does anyone know ? Although if anyone had knowledge of an event similar to the one in TN I would like info on that as well ?

Knoxville, TN? Wow. . .why Knoxville? I mean, I'm thankful because the tickets are incredibly cheap and I'm a mere 40 minute flight from there. And a 4 hour drive. This is absolutely wonderful!

A few questions though. . .

1) Will the tickets be available for purchase online as of 11.23.10?

2) What time will it begin?

3) What time will it end?

4) Will Georgie and Skandar be in attendance?

CAN'T WAAAIIIIIITTTTT!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D

I met Georgie and Skandar AND saw the film in one evening.

I'm going to echo Edmund P's question of will the tickets be available to purchase online? I desperately hope so! I'm close enough to Knoxville to attend, but not close enough to drive up and get tickets and then drive back up to see the movie.

I can't believe they're having the premier this close to me! Such exciting news! :D

Found another story on this today. Apparently rather than a premiere, the Knoxville event is being called a pre-release, red carpet gala.

I have tried to get in contact with the lady, Carol Fisco, heading Variety, we have left messages but we have not actually spoken as of yet. Hopefully I will have more information as to what time the tickets go on sale on November 23rd later today! :)

@Edmund: great! Purchasing tickets online is much easier than in person. ;) Regarding which stars will attend, the production hasn't figured that out yet according to the new story posted...

Why Knoxville, Tennessee?

1. Knoxville is the headquarters of Regal Cinemas, owned by media mogul Philip Anschutz – who also owns Walden Media!
2. Knoxville is centrally located. It’s the gateway to the Smokies. Millions of people live within one day’s drive from it.
3. Tennessee borders 8 states! The state name in Cherokee means “meeting place” or something.

Way to go, Walden Media and Fox for picking Knoxville!!! :)

220chrisTian: I couldn't get in touch with her today. I will try again on Monday for the ticket information unless it is revealed over the next 36 hours.

Ah, I see! That's really neat, I didn't know that!

Dekkie, my Spy Report that FK posted just a little while ago has been changed. I called the cinema again not fifteen minutes ago and asked again when they were to go on sale - because things DO change. She told me that they go on sale at 9:00am on November 23rd. Tickets are not available via internet or telephone. Which is unfortunate for people such as myself - now I have to drive there! #:-s

Ugh. If I can't purchase a ticket online, forget it! I am not going up there just to buy a ticket! Oh the inconvenience... :(

Thanks for finding out the information, Edmund P... even if it is heartbreaking news! :( If they had been available online or by phone, my whole family would have been able to go for our Christmas gift! But alas! It is destined not to be... oh the inhumanity! :((
