Thanks DamselJillPole!
Shy Galadriel: I was thinking it was "a bit" on the sappy side! I was trying to make the Suspian thing pale in comparison. I am a horror type of girl myself and I tried to go chick flick. Apparently that's what happen's when you venture outside your genre
P.S. It may not have been half so sappy if I could've made Caspian use RD's real name instead of pet names
Yeeiahh!!
Long Live RD/Caspian 4-ever!!
yeah! this was what C.S. Lewis actually put in the book!

We definitely need a wedding; its doesnt have to be a long scene but we need to see one. Something like the wedding at the end of Lord of the Rings would be cool. After the End of the World, showing the screen pan quickly across the ocean and then down into the castle of Cair Paravel where there is a wedding with Caspian and RD.
your fellow Telmarine
My sister came up with a scene that I think would work perfectly. Edmund, Lucy, and Eustace are staring at the picture after they get back, the camera zooms in on the ship, and then zooms out, only now we're in a room at Cair Paravel and the ship is part of the magical map hanging on the wall. Caspian is staring at it. RD walks up and holds out her hand to him. He takes it. Rilian comes toddling in. Caspian picks him up. RD smiles and watches them. Cue credits. I think this would work well because there's no dialogue so we don't have to worry about RD not having a name; it's a few years after they're married, so it's proven to the audience that while Susan was the crush of his youth, RD is the love of his life; and it's a good way to set up for Silver Chair because the audience would know about Rilian.
It's not their wedding, but I always think it's more romantic in stories if you know they love each other more after they're married.
I think that they should squeeze it in there....I would love to see it and it would be a nice addition to the movie!
"We have nothing if not belief"
I'm in the minority, but I just don't see the point of this being in the film. I wouldn't mind at all if it was, but I don't think I would have even thought about it if this poll hadn't mentioned it. Plus I think it would be a bit odd to have this added on. In my head it finishes with Lucy, Edmund and Eustace with Aslan then being sent back to England. Going back to Narnia for this scene without them would be strange. If they do it, it should be done without seeming out of place, which I think would be tricky. Who knows, perhaps the film makers were up to the challenge.

Yes, where to put this scene though? I think our Watchful Admin's idea during the credits is good. But I would show it as a montage of moments from the scene rather than having the scene play out directly from beginning to end.
I rather like the montage idea. Although I think I'd add in a few short clips of Caspian and RD spending some time together before showing them getting married. Thanks to the Suspian in PC, I'm afraid a lot of people who haven't read the books would think Caspian's a bit fickle and impulsive when it comes to relationships if it looks like Caspian marries RD right after they meet.

I have to agree that it is ashame that some people out there might feel that way or hate Narnia just because of one minor attraction.
The Suspian fans really need to get that Susan kissed Caspian and Caspian didn't kiss her. I found the kissing scene too over used and unnecessary, only because audiences were not shown character development between them in the movie. it was very minor, and not romantic at all. <--- I know this is fact.
People tend to make it a bigger deal then it is with their imagination and place RD down because they don't find her as a bigger importance than Susan. They think of RD like a character of nothing with no name and no purpose. Which is not true considering her death is one of the main parts as to why Rilian wants to slay the serpent, without her death SC wouldn't exist. The great Narnian stories wouldn't have continued without her. (It's like talking bad about a person you dont know behind their backs when this person can have the same likes/personality as you. and you'll never know) Don't Judge what you cannot Judge already.
Over all I think her character is important, she was explained as a very beloved Queen next to Caspian, and if those feel otherwise and thinks Narnia's end will come to not having Caspian and Susan together then they are missing out on these classics big time.
In the words of CS Lewis "Has this world been so kind to you that you should leave with regret? There are better things ahead then any we leave behind"
Just felt like saying this and it is true.

Yes, please! "squeee"
They can make it as big or as small as they wish to do. It would not alter the plot one bit.
I'm thinking about the size of Sam Gamgee and Rosie Cotton in LotR. There really wasn't much time for them to get to know each other, and it still worked fairly well to end the movie.
I like the idea of a small scene (either a marriage or a while after the marriage) at the end. After the credits would be nice--like some people said, it would really be reminiscent of LWW. Also, if the scene were to take place after the credits, it wouldn't really ruin the going back to England scene at the end of VDT.

that would be very probable. no lines, just a scene so that you know what happened.....yes, that would be perfect!

I guess I don't really mind how or if they potray the wedding. I think it's more important that we know why Caspian marries RD rather than just that he marries her. It must be obvious to the Suspian fans that he is in love with RD, the real thing, not puppy love. We know that Caspian will have to marry in order to have an heir and I don't want it to look like "Hey I need an heir and she's cute let's get hitched!" Then you would have Suspianites saying "Well his heart is still with Susan" They must develop the romance carefully so that Caspian doesn't look fickle and we can also tell that he actually loves RD. If the romance is developed poorly the wedding won't be so wonderful. That's why I'm more in favor of see the proposal or somewhere down the road like Daughter of the King suggested. Anyone can get married, sadly, without any love behind it, especially in cases involving royalty. I trust the filmmakers though. They will do a good job I'm sure.
I have to agree a lot with you AslanIsOnTheMove
It is definitely much more important on how the character development is portrayed between Caspian & RD rather then a wedding, showing off that they are married without any type of interaction. I can actually see some Suspian fans reacting as if Caspian will still think of Susan if the interaction is poorly the same like in PC.
So yes I really hope that once Caspian sets sight of RD it should take off quicker then the Suspian in PC. There should be more interaction between Caspian and RD and even have jump cuts when Caspian leaves Ramandu Island having him thinking of her and mention her a few times, same as showing RD thinking of him as well.
I'm really curious to see this played out. I hope during coming upon Ramandu island the movie will have about 40-45 minutes left so we can grasp why Caspian and RD are each others true loves. If it doesn't go like that then this can easily turn ugly between fandoms like Twilight. ugg
