I think attempting to have Lucy and Edmund not recognize Caspian at first in the movie would be silly. In the book, Caspian was around Peter's age when they first met him. When they came back in VDT, he was nearly an adult. It was a huge change. In the movies, we instead have a nearly adult Caspian in PC. There's no way his appearance would change so drastically that Lucy and Edmund would not recognize him. Unless he's running around with a huge blonde wig and dressed in drag when they meet him in VDT, Lucy and Edmund would just look stupid if they didn't recognize him.

^^ good point, Bookwyrm!
when I made this topic, I wasn't trying to say anything about him actually wearing a disguise in the movie. I am hoping that they will just have the scene when he jumps off the ship be almost confusing so that you don't really see Caspian's face until they are on the deck of the ship!

i think that they may not recognize him because they are in the ocean with waves and they are probably thinking more about staying afloat and getting to the boat than about who is rescuing them. About Caspian jumping in the water, i figured that since three people just appeared in the water out of nowhere, he must have figured it was magic. Also he could have been able to recognize them and got really excited and just jumped in to try to rescue them.
or have you forgotten who really defeated the White Witch,Peter~Lucy
Avvie,sig:me!
If you have ever tried to recognise people in a swimming pool, you'll remember how hard it can be to spot someone whose hair is wet/plastered down with water. If you meet someone you don't expect to see, you may take a moment to recognise them.
I should think that it's not the easiest of things to recognise someone who is rescuing you from the sea!
There, shining in the sunrise, larger than they had seen him before, shaking his mane (for it had apparently grown again) stood Aslan himself.
"...when a willing victim who had committed no treachery was killed in a traitor's stead, the Table would crack and Death itself would start working backwards."
what I mean is this: will the people who are veiwing the movie (besides Narnia fans who already know) be able to reconise Caspian right away?

I think they will not be able to recognize him right away because, as coracle stated, it is hard to recognize someone who is soaking. I think it will only make them wonder who it is.
I saw the movie....and was disappointed
yeah, and Lucy and Edmund have never seen Caspian with a beard! yes, his beard will be enough to 'disguise' Caspian! maybe that's what the filmmakers were thinking.....
