In LWW we get to see how beautiful Cair Paravel is. In PC we see it in ruins. Now we come to VDT.
In the book, Edmund, Lucy, and Eustace meet up with the voyage after they left Cair Paravel, if I can recall I think it mentions somewhere in the books that Caspian rebuilt Cair Paravel. I think in VDT it should be mentioned that Caspian is rebuilding Cair Paravel. So that way when SC come around (God willing) we can see it finished and how time has passed since VDT.
So what do you think? Do they need to mention the rebuilding of Cair Paravel, or is it not important? Should it be rebuilt to look like it did when Peter was high king, or should it be redesigned completely? If this isn't in the right spot feel free to move it
The Value of myth is that it takes all the things you know and restores to them the rich significance which has been hidden by the veil of familiarity. C.S. Lewis
I really don't think it needs to get mentioned in VDT. I, for one, wouldn't miss it, anyway. Unless they have a scene in Cair Paravel (the ship leaving or some such), I doubt C. P. will be given too much thought by viewers since it's an all-sea adventure anyway.
Well unless also Caspian were to have the book discussion with the Pevensies over the Telmarines and Narnians getting along now. But I think a mention of Cair Paravel would probably just be distracting.
That's just my opinion though.
I agree with Lady Galadriel. I can only see Cair Paravel coming into play in VDT if there is a scene showing Caspian's departure with the new beginnings of Cair Paravel in the background (I don't know how much planning and construction you can do of a castle in three years). I won't be disappointed if the castle isn't mentioned or seen in VDT. It would be a bit awkward when Caspian meets up with the Pevensies and Eustace to have a discussion about the castle (i.e.: Edmund: "Say Caspian, where have you been residing for the past three years? Don't tell me it was at Miraz's castle". Caspian: "Of course not Edmund. We've been working on rebuilding Cair Paravel. Oh, and it's completely different from what you four kings and queens lived in. We're modernizing the place, giving a whole new feel"). Not exactly film material to sit through. As long as the new, completed castle shows up in SC, I'll be happy, but it's not necessary in VDT (as much as we all love that castle).

If they show Caspian's wedding in the movie, they might show Cair Paravel (whether in construction or otherwise). I wouldn't mind a reference, but I don't think it's necessary.
I am hoping that they are going to show Caspian leaving for his voyage, so I hope they show Cair Paravel! it would be cool if it looks somewhat like the original (in LWW) but with a new look (maybe more Telmarine-ish?)!

It'd be unneccesary, but I (and I think a lot of other nwers) would be happy if they did (rebuild Cair Paravel)!

It's true that Cair Paravel is the heart and a bearer of the oldest royal tradition in Narnia. I will be happy to see it once again rebuilt in the new movie, but I won't be dissapointed if the Castle is not there. Having in mind, that it's not mentioned it won't make any difference for me .
I really don't think Caspian has enough time to rebuild Cair. There are only three years in between, and I think most of that time was spent working on the ships. By SC, Cair should be rebuilt and hopefully in a style very similar to when the Pevensies reigned, but it's not important during VDT.
Rebuilding Cair Paravel is very important, or at least it certainly is to me. It would show strength and a sense of perserverance in the Narnians. If they do rebuild the castle... I wonder if the filmmakers will design it exactly like the LWW one? That would be interesting if they came up with a completely different design.
Well, that sounds interesting. I'm very curious to see if there is a new design. Perhaps King Caspian will include some Telmarine features in the new castle.
yes! maybe it will look like a mix of the old Cair Paravel and Miraz's castle!
