i know that i might be the only one who feels this way but i am hoping that they don't put the 'i have another name' scene in the trailer. i think it would much more impactful if the many people who have not read the books can see it for the fist time at the end of the movie. what do you guys think?

"Lucy says a spell and Susan appears in the window" So Anna Popplewell does have a cameo. Interesting.
I believe I remember that Tilda Swinton had no idea that she was in Prince Caspian at first, and that they had used stock images to re-create her image:
http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2008/03/14/ti ... ia-sequel/
Perhaps the case is the same here? The book of spells is a good venue for computer animation.
I really don't care what she says in that article; she DID film for PC. We have footage of her in makeup, before cameras and everything. There's no way they could have recreated her role completely out of stock, plus where'd her voice come from, and after all, using an actor's likeness without permission is a HUGE no-no.
Either Anna is in the film, or she's not and they used a double. End of discussion. I'd have to see the trailer myself to be able to tell you which is which, but yeah.
I don't believe the speculation that we may not see a trailer until the fall. That's marketing suicide. We may not see THIS trailer until the fall; I will say that. But we WILL get something, anything, sooner than that. Trust me on this one.
Later in the trailer, she looks into the book and sees a picture of herself that morphs into the face of her sister Susan.
If it morphs into Susan, then they would have to use CGI for that. Especially if Anna doesn't have any lines to say. Although as I said, Anna was present for part of the filming, so she could have been filmed in person.
I have mixed feelings about this. One the one hand, I'm terribly excited, but on the other I'm a bit concerned.
In Caspian's cabin (or perhaps Drinian's) Edmund, with Lucy standing by, expresses confusion to the effect of, "If everything's all right and nobody's attacking Narnia, then why are we here?" Caspian: "I've been wondering the same thing."
I think this is comforting. Unless, of course, something happens that causes there to be a difficulty after this scene. . .
Did Eustace feel a bit off to anyone else? I'm hoping it's just the way it appears in writing, but him trying to talk to a seagull doesn't feel Eustace-ish. Maybe that's just me.
But, I was happy that there was no mention of battles. It may just be that CG's not far enough along, but no mention would seem comforting that they won't overtake the film.
Still not sure about Gale.
And, still no mention of Ramandu. . .
There's a few parts that make me a bit anxious, but overall I feel rather good about it.

I actually don't mind Gael as much as the fact that it seems many things of that leaked script have made it into the final movie. "A very early script, nothing of it will make it into the final movie" Yeah, whatever.
Green Soul-eating underwater(or -land, for that matter) witch and importance of the stone knife are back. Just like Ramandu's Daughter "guiding" them as a glowing blue star.
Does this confirm Lucy's crush on Caspian will be in the movie as well? It seems likely, considering that from only about 2 1/2 minutes of footage they can already show so much that was in the leaked script, the rest is not too far off.

I think this could work, but it would be much better if it was done sarcastically:
Eustace: Right. Minotaurs, fauns, and talking animals exist. *turns to seagull* I suppose you're the first mate?
Though, why a Narnian would laugh at someone talking to an animal as if it could talk back...

I wouldn't mind if Lucy had a crush on Caspian, just as long as Caspian does not have a crush on her back. He would very much look like a cad when RD comes in.
I love how RD is explained. I just wish i can see the trailer now. Whoever saw the event please tell me Caspian's expression upon looking at her?
Gael does not worry me as of this moment. I feel her character may be useful in the faith area of the movie.
I can't stop laughing about Eustace talking to a seagull. I'm wondering if he may be doing that to see if he is not crazy or something

....so much that was in the leaked script, the rest is not too far off.
Very much agree. It is somewhat disheartening having heard all those guarantees about the "rough" and "experimental" nature of that leaked script, only to then keep finding big parts of it showing up in the final movie.
I am however quite confident that the Soul Eating Cave of Doom on the Lone Islands has disappeared, as i'm sure we would of found some evidence pointing towards it. Ditto on the LOTGK.
I would also have to take comfort in the three things we know have changed from that script - Stephen Knight no longer being a credited screenwriter, Trumpkin not being on board the Dawn Treader, and Doctor Cornelius not being on board the Dawn Treader.
There is also so much to be pleased about in these trailer descriptions that we shouldn't let the few little things put us off completely
A few further observations:
In Caspian's cabin (or perhaps Drinian's) Edmund, with Lucy standing by, expresses confusion to the effect of, "If everything's all right and nobody's attacking Narnia, then why are we here?" Caspian: "I've been wondering the same thing."
This would seem to support the idea (one thats come up a few times before) that at the start of the journey, Caspian's only objective is to reach the Lone Islands. Otherwise, why would Caspian not reply "Oh perhaps you've been sent to help me on this dangerous journey to the edge of the world i'm about to attempt" rather than "i've been wondering the same thing".
Again in the leaked script it seemed to hint that Caspian does not become aware of the need to sail to the edge of the world until after they meet Lord Bern, find the stone dagger is missing, and find out that the people of the Lone Islands are being sold into slavery and taken to the east. Even if thats not via a Soul Eating cave of doom, i suspect much of the basic premise their will be the same - that the central objective of the plot will not be established untill they reach the Lone Islands. In all honesty, thats not the worst idea in the world ever - it allows the audience and the central characters to be there at the formation of the narrative, and not just be dumped straight into the middle of one - particularly important with the audience who need to feel a strong connection with the reasoning for the quest, something they may not get if they are just thrust into one that has already been set-up before they get there.
a shot of a window, oddly tilted 90 degrees, and the camera began to pan out and the window return to vertical. As it did so, more and more of a large, heavily ornamented building was revealed, featuring some attractive masonry including lion heads (My guess would be this is a shot of some place in Oxford, but I'm not entirely sure how it fits into the story.)
I know its not the most important detail in the world, and its also a detail which does not appear until the very last page of the entire book.... but that is the second time i've heard the opening scenes referenced as taking place in Oxford, rather than Cambridge.
I hope its just a case of mistaken identity - i'd wager most people in Britain would get Oxford and Cambridge mistaken as well - and Oxford is the University town more commonly associated with CS Lewis, but i really do hope they've got it right and it is in fact Cambridge. Again, not because it matters, but because its such a simple thing to get right. There is no reason why you should get it wrong, or why a change would even be necessary.
And, still no mention of Ramandu. . .
Very true....
I am however quite confident that the Soul Eating Cave of Doom on the Lone Islands has disappeared, as i'm sure we would of found some evidence pointing towards it. Ditto on the LOTGK.
Are you sure?
There is one voiceover in which Caspian says, "Think of the lost souls we are here to save." It's unclear whether he is referring here to the Three Sleepers or some as yet unknown additional characters, though the latter seems more likely.
"lost souls" is quite indicating, although I might be interpreting a bit too much into it, but the fact that they use the word "souls" is very much unsettling, given the early leaked script.
Ooohh.
This is rather exciting. I don't actually think I mind the direction this Gael thing is going. It could be quite sweet.
Eustace! He He ... talking to a seagull, good times. I'm very intrigued as to what the Dark Island footage was like.
And a cameo from Susan? Well, it makes perfect sense for the magician's room scene. Staying true to the book is all good in my view!
... also so much to be pleased about in these trailer descriptions that we shouldn't let the few little things put us off completely.
Kristi does not strike me as one to hold back if she was unhappy with what she saw. Very promising.
And, still no mention of Ramandu. . .
Or sight of a dragon.
“Safe?” said Mr. Beaver; “don’t you hear what Mrs. Beaver tells you? Who said anything about safe? ‘Course he isn’t safe. But he’s good. He’s the King, I tell you.”
In my mind, Ramandu's Island possesses only one thing which could possibly be tied into the fate of Narnia - an idea which was hinted at in one of the scenes from the leaked script - and that is the Stone Knife.
That scene in the leaked script had them in a bell-tower on The Lone Islands where the Stone Knife was apparently supposed to be kept in a stone casket, only for them to find it had been stolen. Immediately after they realised it was missing, armed slavers slide down on the Bell Tower ropes to capture them.
Since we know the bell tower and the armed slavers sliding down the ropes is in the final movie, one might assume the Stone Knife plot points are there too.
Wow, you really got me worrying now! What on earth would armed slaves be doing at Ramandu's Island? Just waiting for thousands of years to attack some possible intruder? And whose slaves are it anyway? Please don't tell me they're the White Witch's?
What on earth would armed slaves be doing at Ramandu's Island?
Sorry for any confusion there - the scene with the armed slavers sliding down the bell tower ropes is on the Lone Islands not Ramandu's Island. In the book the Stone Knife obviously somehow ends up at Ramandu's Island, but in the leaked script they had it on the Lone Islands to start with (in a casket in a bell tower), only for it to get stolen, and then presumably later it would turn up at Ramandu's Island.
The Bell Tower scene is one scene from the leaked script we know made it to the movie more or less in-tact. We've seen lots of pictures of the statues and bells from that set, and we've also had a video interview with one of the stunt people on the set where he describes the stunt-men having to perform the "sliding down the bell tower ropes" bit.
My general point though was that if reaching Ramandu's Island is now the critical objective of the mission to save Narnia (as Roger's trailer report indicated) then it would perhaps point directly to the Stone Knife's presence being the critical reason for going there.
Did Eustace feel a bit off to anyone else? I'm hoping it's just the way it appears in writing, but him trying to talk to a seagull doesn't feel Eustace-ish. Maybe that's just me.
Yes! I can't imagine Eustace talking to an animal by choice.
Some of the news seems positive, some is confusing, and some is discouraging, although I'm glad for any news I can get.

We received a spy report a couple weeks ago with a rundown on the same footage when it was shown at Festival of Faith and Writing by Randy Testa. Tirian asked that we hold onto for a bit til it came out publicly (we were pretty sure it would at Biola and so it did.) Here's another perspective on the footage.
I am an English college student who is currently attending the Festival of Faith and Writing at Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I attended a session this morning headed by Randy Testa, the VP of education and professional development for Walden Media. Part of the session was a special viewing of some footage of the movie that he said no one in the public has seen yet. We were instructed to take NO pictures or audio recording. The format was like a trailer, some of the footage unfinished and unpolished. I'll try to describe the clips as best as I can. It includes the following:
*The "trailer" starts with a sweeping view of a church with lion gargoyles, 20th century people exiting the doors below. Aslan's voice speaks in the background about times changing.
*Edmund and Lucy in Eustace's bedroom. Edmund asks Lucy if she has seen the ship in the picture before. Lucy smiles and says it's very Narnian.
*Eustace, Edmund, and Lucy in Eustace's bedroom, with water pouring out of the picture frame and filling the bedroom. They swim in the water and emerge at the surface with the Dawn Treader.
*Edmund and Lucy in Narnian clothes in Caspian's cabin. Edmund wonders why they have been called to Narnia if there is no war or trouble.
*Lucy walks down the hall to the magician's book. She opens it as Aslan's voice speaks in the background. Snow falls as she gazes around in wonder. Another clip of the book includes Lucy looking on the page of the spell of beauty beyond the lot of mortals, and her image in the books morphs into an image of Susan.
*Coriaken unrolls a huge map, his voiceover telling them of the perils ahead. Apparently, the writers have combined some of the episodes in the book to create a goal to defeat the "darkness" that threatens Narnia. It seems that they have to land on the dark island and follow a "blue star" to Ramandu's island.
*Footage of Gael and Lucy. Gael says to Lucy in a ship's cabin, "When I grow up, I want to be just like you." Lucy replies by putting her arm around Gael and saying, "When you grow up, I want you to be just like you." Another scene includes Lucy comforting Gael as she misses her mother by telling her to trust in Aslan.
*Eustace sitting among some barrels, writing in his notebook. He asks an albatross on a barrel if he talks too, and a nearby minotaur laughs at him talking to animals.
*A dragon shadow swooping across a mountainside.
*Coriaken becoming visible again: a table of books begin to blur as his image moves, not blending in with his surroundings anymore.
*Reepicheep climbing a mast.
*Ramandu's daughter emerging out of light. She welcomes the group to Aslan's table.
*Lucy looking on a door that opens out of nowhere, with light beyond, presumably the door in the sky.
*Edmund, Eustance and Lucy on a beach with Aslan, presumably at the end of the world. Lucy asks if they will return. As more clips play, Aslan's voiceover speaks the line of them knowing him by another name in their world.
*Coriaken with the crew of the DT. He throws some white stuff in Eustace's direction and says something, maybe a spell. Lucy asks Coriaken what the white stuff was, and he replies, "Lint, but don't tell him that."
*The footage ends as other trailers have, the Narnia logo sweeping away, this time made of finished stone.
