They are planning to show a trailer at the Biola conference, and that is today! I wonder if we'll get to hear something about the footage they show!
There are some reactions and a spy report posted over at Narniafans.com.
And so they do.. http://www.narniafans.com/archives/8459
Probably warrants its own discussion thread since there are a couple of pretty big spoilery things to discuss... This all comes from "Roger" in the NarniaFans comments section. Big thanks to him
Saw the trailer at Biola. It was great. It might be the best movie of the lot. Parts of the trailer are still in post production; green pants were visible. First scene: The trio are in Lucy’s room, Lucy looks in the painting, the sea starts to move, water comes out of the painting, Eustice pulls the painting off the wall, water floods the house, the trio swim out of the house into the sea, they surface to see the Dawn Treader coming right to them. The next part that I remember is Lucy, Edmund and Caspian wondering why the trio was called to Narnia.
So far so good
Next was a small part about the fate of Narnia depending on the ship reaching Ramandu’s Island. A star was shooting through the sky. I am not clear what was going on. This was just a taste not a bite.
Groan
Next were Lucy and Gael laying on their beds talking. Geal: “When I grow up I want to be like you.” Lucy: “When you grow up you want to be like you.” Lucy then reassures Gael that they will find Gael’s mother.
Groan again
Next was a small scene with Eustice trying to talk to a seagull and the Narnians making fun of him trying to talk to a bird. There was a brief sene of Dark Island. There was a good scene of Lucy in the Magic Room. Beautiful set. Aslan fast forwards Lucy through the book. Lucy says a spell and Susan appears in the window. Yes, Anna Popplewell makes an appearance. There is a scene with Ramandu’s daughter saying her prayers. Quites spectacular. At the end is a small scene from the end of the movie with Aslan saying “In your world I am known be a different name …” That seemed to be right out of the book with a little different set. The trailer ends with the standard trailer ending, except that it’s water instead of snow or trees.
Much more like it
Seeing the trailer was worth flying in to see it. The trailer was about two and a half minutes. Fox is really paranoid about it leaking. People were watching us with IR glasses. I understand the Fox might be worried. It was a major accomplishment that Fox trusted us. I am glad that I saw it and can not wait for more. I can now breath easier about VDT.
Lots of cause for being optimistic... but still those annoying little things keep cropping up - "Unfathomable Fate" and the whole Gael sub-plot - which stop me from being 100% delighted.
But still - talk of Dark Island, the Magician's Book, Ramandu's Daughter, Aslan's Country.... how can you not help being slightly ecstatic at the thought?
Also very interesting they should reveal that Anna Popplewell is making a cameo so soon (especially when she made an interview just a few days ago denying she had any involvement )
Well, we knew there would be some new things but it is nice to know that they're following the book closely as well. And I had a feeling Susan would make her appearance as in the book. Sail on VDT!

There is definitely no "a" in definite.
The Mind earns by doing; the Heart earns by trying.
If that is the extent of her appearance, I'm fine with it. Doesn't sound too bad, fits with the book. That bit about the fate of Narnia sounds annoying though.
I can't wait to see the trailer!!!!!! The only thing that is really bugging me right now is Gael .I hope they have a good reason for adding her in.
I hope he story ends at the Lone Islands, but maybe I'll change my mind once I see her scenes.
Eustace tries talking to a bird! That's great!
I'm glad Anna Popplewell was able to make a Cameo, I hope Will can make one to, that would be great!
If the CG wasn't done on all of the shots, then I wonder how much longer it will be before the trailer is released? I thought in May, but my guess now is in June (with Toy Story 3) or early July (with The Last Airbender)
And I'm so glad that they kept the water in the title at the end of the trailer, like they had snow with LWW, and the woods with PC! Overall I'm feeling good, I don't get the whole Unfathomable Fate thing, but I think so far I'm less worried about VDT right now, then I was for PC.
The Value of myth is that it takes all the things you know and restores to them the rich significance which has been hidden by the veil of familiarity. C.S. Lewis
Some further thoughts on a few things...
Next was a small part about the fate of Narnia depending on the ship reaching Ramandu’s Island.
It is interesting that he specifies Ramandu's Island, and not Aslan's Country as being the destination which can save Narnia from an "Unfathomable Fate".
In my mind, Ramandu's Island possesses only one thing which could possibly be tied into the fate of Narnia - an idea which was hinted at in one of the scenes from the leaked script - and that is the Stone Knife.
That scene in the leaked script had them in a bell-tower on The Lone Islands where the Stone Knife was apparently supposed to be kept in a stone casket, only for them to find it had been stolen. Immediately after they realised it was missing, armed slavers slide down on the Bell Tower ropes to capture them.
Since we know the bell tower and the armed slavers sliding down the ropes is in the final movie, one might assume the Stone Knife plot points are there too.
The only thing that is really bugging me right now is Gael... I hope her story ends at the Lone Islands...
A very nice thought. And if only it were true... But its interesting that this report indicates she and Lucy both have beds on board - that suggests to me she's going to be on board for quite a while
I'm also not holding out much hope that she will be an insignificant role, or that she will just fade into background in anyway. The fact that she is having extended dialogue interaction with Lucy, and the fact that they are discussing a signficant plot (to find her mother - which again suggests she is related to Rhince who is looking for his wife) and that she seems to be featured quite prominently in at least 2 different scenes now suggests to me she will be a fairly major part of the movie.
Whoohoo! I got chills reading this. Definitely makes me excited to see the trailer! Having said that, the fact that there are still unfinished visual effects shots in the trailer makes me think we wont be seeing it for quite some time.
Edit: I just read some of the comments on Narniafans and "Roger" seems to think that we wont be seeing anything until fall. I certainly hope he is mistaken, as that's entirely too long to wait.
Some further thoughts:
I'm still very disappointed about the addition to the plot, but if they manage to capture the spirit of the book in spite of it then I will still love the movie. For me it has always been mostly about the "spirit" and the "feel" of the film as compared to the book. If they make additions that still feel like Lewis then I wont have a problem. This wasn't always the case with LWW and PC, we'll wait and see what happens with VDT.
The scene with Lucy and Gael sounds interesting. The lines they are delivering seem a little bit awkward and cheesy when one is reading them but, depending on how they're delivered, they might sound okay spoken. We'll see. None of the comments say anything about it looking "cheesy."
I was kind of caught off guard by the comment about Ramandu's daughter "saying her prayers." Sounds very odd. Who is she praying too? Aslan? And what is she praying about?
Overall I think there is more positive here then negative, and I absolutely can not wait to see this trailer!
I'll always be a,

Well, it sounds excellent for the most part.
The picture opening I could have predicted, which is a good thing.
I really, really, really wish the unfathomable fate had not been added. It might not actually be unfathomable, but it sounds like the purpose for the voyage has changed drastically. Not happy.

I agree, the scene sounds cheesy.
"Lucy says a spell and Susan appears in the window" So Anna Popplewell does have a cameo. Interesting.
I was kind of caught off guard by the comment about Ramandu's daughter "saying her prayers." Sounds very odd. Who is she praying too? Aslan? And what is she praying about?
That was my reaction too. I hope Roger just misunderstood and that scene is actually the part where she and Ramandu sing before the sunrise.
At the end is a small scene from the end of the movie with Aslan saying “In your world I am known be a different name …” That seemed to be right out of the book with a little different set.
Glad to know they put that bit in. But what does he mean by a different set?
If the footage is unfinished, I assume that we won't be seeing the trailer until at least June. I'm fine with that; I was hoping it would come out in front of Toy Story 3 anyway.
Gael is really bugging me too. And a lot of it sounds like scenes from the leaked script. (The article on the front page links to one on The Lion's Call that describes the trailer and adds a few more details, ) Also, from the article on TLC, there are some statements from Aslan which really get to me ().
On the other hand, the TLC article describes the scene about the painting in a way which sounds almost as if the film is following the book's dialogue (and that is very neat. )
(Use of "spoiler" things added just in case there's anyone who is staying away from that article. )

Oh this is SO exciting! I just can't wait to see the trailer!

I wish they came into Narnia the exact way they did in the book and I am also not liking the fact that they have to "save Narnia".
But I still really want to see the trailer and the movie!
Reading the earliest spoilerish report last night gave me tingles. I have now calmed down enough to make one or two rational comments.
1. I'm really happy to have our first reliable report of an Anna cameo.
2. Yes, the Lucy/Gael dialogue does sound rather cheesy, unfortunately. I had been trying to give the addition of Gael at least the benefit of the doubt, but now...
3. I wish the clip involving the Dark Island had been described in more detail, but am thankful it was mentioned at all!
4. The Entering Narnia scenes and Eustace speaking to the seagull sound great.
5.
6. Still wondering: was Caspian speaking with an accent?
After reading Icarus's opinion about the whole "Must get to Ramandu's Island" thing, I tempted to feel quite blue... But there is so much positive information here!

Many thanks to Kristi and Dearheart over at The Lions Call. Looks to be shaping up nicely. I value your opinion on the matter.
Hmm. No sign yet of a dragon. Curious.
That Anna Popplewell shows up is all great. Fits in very well.
“Safe?” said Mr. Beaver; “don’t you hear what Mrs. Beaver tells you? Who said anything about safe? ‘Course he isn’t safe. But he’s good. He’s the King, I tell you.”
I also huffed a bit at the whole "save Narnia" thing, because to me, it feels like they're going to stick some reference to the Green Witch in as some grand manipulator of these invented events. Now, I've had a lot of time to think about it, and putting a follow through from Dawn Treader into Silver Chair doesn't bother me that much; it does feel like there's little continuity between the books other than Eustace and perhaps Caspian who has an ultimately minor role...
Since changes are imminent (as what's been described in the reports), I suppose I'm on board only if they do it as tastefully as possible. If they can provide a through-line to Silver Chair without derailing the ending of Dawn Treader, then I'll be satiated.
That, and I am interested in seeing what sort of small scenes with Peter and Susan they could stick in there.
Parts make me excited, parts keep me wary. That's my reaction to the overviews of the trailer. Like others, I'm trying to give the Gael thing the benefit of the doubt. And I understand that they need to involve Ramandu's Daughter a bit more to make her marrying Caspian a bit more plausible. I just hope they do it all well.
I still think the purpose of the voyage shouldn't have to do with 'saving Narnia'. What's wrong with rescuing the seven lords? But, again, if they do it well and stay true to the spirit of the book, I'll probably be able to handle it.

My overview of VODT: http://lady-lirenel.livejournal.com/151965.html
"Lucy says a spell and Susan appears in the window" So Anna Popplewell does have a cameo. Interesting.
I believe I remember that Tilda Swinton had no idea that she was in Prince Caspian at first, and that they had used stock images to re-create her image:

Perhaps the case is the same here? The book of spells is a good venue for computer animation.
Quod Erat Demonstrandum
It sounds like Anna may only be there for a single shot (she "appeared in the window"). So perhaps she could have been CGI-ed in. I believe I recollect her denying several times having any involvement in VoDT. However, she's actually visited the Dawn Treader set, although in the interview she sounds like she hasn't acted for awhile.
“We all keep in touch and I went out to see them filming some of Dawn Dreader [the next film in the series, out this year]. We all know each really well and it’s nice to meet up.”
