I think his battle plan was to retreat after they attacked. Right? That seems like a reasonable attack strategy.

Oh, I forgot what might be my very favorite part of the movie. When Edmund and the giant (and the centaur? Or who was it? A bear?) went to talk to Miraz. I love Edmund in that movie, he's so perfect, and he's so funny in that scene. I love all of it!!

I think my favorite scene in PC is when Lucy walks onto the bridge by herself facing the entire Telmarine army and then Aslan walks up beside her. Pretty powerful in my opinion, and a great picture of the relationship between the two.
My least favorite scene was anything and everything that involved Peter. Topping it off was the night raid. While I liked the concept of night raid, the entire purpose behind it was to teach Peter a lesson in humility and in doing so he kills off half the Narnian army. Ugh. This did not fit into the Narnia I know and love, nor did it fit the character of Peter. It was rather depressing.
Things I loved:
1. Edmund throughout the film was in character and I loved his development.
2. The first 50 minutes of the film I felt like I was living the book.
3. The transition of the train station and into Narnia was so cool. My favorite scene actually.
Things I didn't like:
1. The story and the way things were filmed and what was said was way too fast paced, it needed to slow down.
2. The lack of character development with other characters. Emotions and plots were never explained they just happened spontaneously and I felt things were never explained and i got lost.
3. Peter's unexplained rage and Suspian. Peter got on my nerves. If the story could have explained why peter was this way I probably would or would not of liked this change. Like I stated above his character bio was obviously rushed in the script. I know he explained he was tired of being treated like a kid, however it doesn't explain why he was at Caspian's throat all the time. Did he not like Caspian because his mission was to get him his throne back from Miraz and not himself? I wish movies these days would explain these things like they used to.
Suspian: I'll admit i do love good romance stories. The first reason why I didn't like this idea was because yeah it's not in the book, in the books Caspian's first and only love was Ramandu's Daughter. Then I was like "okay there's nothing to change that" and I went in with an open mind and told myself I would probably like it but after the movie ugh, typical shallow teen fling. I didn't like the puppy glances, the flirting was cliche, the rescue scene and kiss were just spontaneously dopey. Granted Suspian would have been a lot better if there was a conversation scene between Caspian and Susan to show some sort of impact they made on each others lives I would've liked it. It's just when they had that scene where Susan looks like she is going to cry when she sees Caspian from a distance looking at her and she's being told from Aslan she can't come back I didn't have any sympathy for either of them other then the fact she cant come back to Narnia, her home, but the fact I didn't feel sorry that they couldn't be together is because in the movie they had no relationship from the get go. It was done poorly and made me feel even more sorry for Ramandu's Daughter's relationship with Caspian in the stories.

Susan looking at Caspian when she found out she couldn't come back to Narnia was one of the real low points of PC for me. I mean for Susan to be thinking about Caspian in that moment instead of the fact that she couldn't see Aslan again or Narnia was just too much for me.

^Exactly, I just didn't care for either one of them at that point. I wanted to see her upset about leaving a place that was her home more than earth was, not over some guy she was only physically attracted to.

I never thought of it as her being heart broken to leave him in that scene (that just never occurred to me) but it was probably a mix of both. She certainly was sad to be leaving Narnia, but especially since she had "fallen in love".

At first I thought it would be a mixture of both as well. Before VDT I thought that the writers did that to her character (made her only care so much about a guy she was only attracted to then Narnia itself and Aslan) that it would eventually lead as to why she didn't want to believe in Narnia anymore and became addicted to social life in her own world. I was disappointed that in VDT Susan still believed in Narnia and I'm guessing that after she goes to that party that'll be the first time she got hooked on that lifestyle and gradually forgets Narnia.
Thing that still bothers me is that I can't state what i just said as fact nor is "Caspian and Susan fell in love" is a fact. There's nothing to prove that they were in love. Glances, cliche flirts and a kiss is not love. There's more to love then physical attractions and romantic actions. They really messed up these characters big time for not explaining more.

I just think that was what the film was suggesting. That Susan was sad because she was leaving Caspian. She looks at him crying like that is it. And we know that she has just been told she doesn't ever get to come back. And she is thinking about Caspian? I just find it a low point.
Also i don't think they were in love either.

Worst:
1) Peter/Caspian Rivalry, specifically when they fight at the first meeting. Up till then, I didn't have a big problem with Peter's character. It's altered from the book, but the fact that he felt more grown up than other kids his age is totally understandable. I mean, he did grow up in LWW. But when he meets Caspian it's like he hates the guy already. Dude, you just met him. Why are you so ticked? Because he attacked you? You were about to kill a minotaur, one of Caspian's army. He was just protecting one of his soldiers. That said, it wasn't Peter's fault that he wanted to take out Asterius. He was in the habit of killing Minotaurs from his last visit. Ugh.
2) Probably Suspian. It also went against the book and was totally out of place.
3) Hmm...I think this would go to one of three things, none of which I had a really big problem with. One would be the absence of the Doctor Cornelius scenes with Caspian before Prunaprismia gives birth. I missed those from the book, and I feel like the movie was kind of confusing for non-book lovers. Another thing was Reepicheep. I felt like he was just a bit too macho and cheesy, not as brave and honourable as in the book. Lastly was the fact that Sopespian, not Glozelle, killed Miraz. It's just a little thing, but it bugged me. I mean, Walden, is it such a hard thing to have Glozelle do it? Oh Well.
Best
1) Pretty much the rest of the movie. Number one, though would probably go to the Peter/Miraz duel. It was well choreographed and intense. The remaining battle was also very good.
2) Caspian's flight from the castle. I did miss the preceding scenes from the book, but the ride was a good intro. Well done, and the music was also very good.
3) When the telmarines are about to cross the bridge and are stopped by Lucy, who is soon joined by Aslan. Aslan's epic roar (the ripples in the water were a nice touch) and the appearance of the River god.
I was really disappointed in Trumpkin- in the book he is a cheerful skeptic who does the right thing as a Narnian even though he doesn't believe in Aslan.
(like me - I was even going to adopt TrumpkinBA (Before Aslan) as my username here)
In the movie he is an embittered whiner who believes Aslan has abandoned Narnia, which makes the "Son of Earth, come here" scene kind of pointless.
I guess Walden didn't like the thought of showing a happy, morally upright atheist.
The difference is that people wanted to hear the stories, whereas I never met anyone who wanted to read the essays
I am re-posting my best/worst scenes from the original thread on Walden's PC, with some more thoughts I have now.
PC Best:
1. Aslan's return. A very powerful scene. Even though the Narnians had denied Him before, He still took down the enemy when they couldn't. He was very forgiving. Plus the visuals here were very good.
2. The Dancing Lawn scene. I actually liked how the Narnians were less trustworthy to Caspian at first. After all, I probably would be too if somebody had just invaded my home and killed the Talking Beasts. It takes time to trust.
3. Discovery of the ruins. Emotional scene for us the viewers, and the Pevensies, especially Lucy. Finding the country you ruled now in ruins would be a nightmare, and finding that the beloved Beavers and Mr. Tumnus have long past into Aslan's Country.
Worst:
1. Most of Peter's scenes, especially before the Night Raid. Peter was not a jerk at all in the books. This is not the way a High King is supposed to act, even if one of the enemy's blood is by your side.
2. The ending of the battle, right when Caspian is crowned king. Most of the Narnia didn't seemed too thrilled to be liberated from the Telmarines. Maybe I would have liked this ending better if they didn't have/ developed better the relationship that most not be named. But yeah, I don't think I need to say more.
3. Awakening of the trees. So the first thing the trees want to do is fight for their lives? This problem of mine with the scene is similar to my issue in LWW with the statues. The trees should have been rejoicing that they were now free from their sleep, but no. Aslan was the hope that came, and I would have been celebrating.
Wow! My first post in almost a year, feels god to be back!!
Best
1. The last half of the castle attack (not that I enjoyed watching them get massacred) but they really conveyed the horror of what was happening so well on Peters face, I think it really matured the series from a cute children's story into something deathly serious.
2 . The ending (minus the kiss ) I think the song "The Call" fit the mood so perfectly, probably the best ending in the series.
3. The dual was awesome(Even though the chorography could use some work).
Worst
1. The "Kiss" .
2. "That explains it then, your mistaken!" so out of character for a High King.
3. "Susan/Legolas" SOOO corny.
I haven't seen the movie in more than a year, but these are the best/worst moments from my memory
Best:
1)The Ruins of Cair Paravel
The feeling of sadness is very well played by the Pevensie actors here. Great set design as well as lighting.
2)Caspian showing the Pevensies Aslan's How
More great design choices, really setting the mood. All you rembered from the first film just became memories. Very well done by the actors, fantastic direction also.
3)The Night Raid
I know this is a really unpopular scene among diehard Narnia fans, but I thought it was extremly needed to keep the flow of the movie going. Also, unlike the waterfall scene of LWW, this added battle was sort of present in the book.It gave the movie a final sense of desparation. Also, very well planned out (on the direction, not the character's decisions) unlike the LWW battle. Sadly this was probably the last part of the movie that I enjoyed. It went quickly downhill from here.
Worst:
1) Peter's fight at the train station
I liked the direction they tried to take his character in, but it was done poorly. This scene made me cringe.
2)Miraz cutting down the trees
Was this even in the book. I remember it form LB but not PC. Even if it was, the way it was done felt far too Lord of the Ringsy
3) The Kiss
Enough said
