I'm sorry, gP, but I can't think of three scenes that are the best, so I'm just going to be general here. :S
I love the end of the battle: Aslan defeating the witch and Edmund breaking her wand both look so epic. This was a very well-done scene. The discovery of the wardrobe was great: tense, but not so that it's creepy. Tumnus's house, and the lullaby. When the kids come into Aslan's camp it looks so welcome and inviting and the diversity of creatures is great: contrasted with the witch's camp, which was also well done.
The one thing I didn't really care for was Peter's fight with Maugrim, the fact that he didn't actually show any bravery other than pointing his sword at Maugrim. Maugrim committed suicide. Oh well. Other than that, absolutely great movie.
the fact that he didn't actually show any bravery other than pointing his sword at Maugrim. Maugrim committed suicide.
I did not see it in that way... but I agree that Maugrim committed suicide.... it sounds funny

I would have to say that from the moment that Lucy walks into Narnia for the first time up to the point where Tumnus is playing her to sleep and Aslan roars out of the fire, that was pure magic. I think that one fairly lengthy stretch screamed Narnia to me more than any other part throughout the whole three Walden Narnia films.
The worst in LWW, I really struggled with two things, the lack of understanding of the character of Aslan and the Waterfall scene. But since this thread is for moments, I'll only go into the latter. The whole time Maugrim is talking to Peter and Susan was screaming at him to listen and put his sword down, I was going "Really? His wolf buddy has Mr. Beaver by the throat and the only thing that's stopping him from doing the same to you is the sword your brother is holding." It made no 'logical' sense. So I felt that was the weakest scene in the movie.
Agreed. That was an awful scene that would have been better left on the cutting room floor; a big part of the reason why I absolutely could not stand Movie!Susan.
I thought the movie LWW was spell-binding, from the first time I saw it, to the present. There are too many beautiful moments to count, but I did see Susan as a fly in the ointment.
Susan in the books was a girly-girl of the queen bee variety. In the movie they turned her into this Susan/Eustace/Hermione hybrid. It bugged me on two counts. First of all, I thought it would make Eustace's character seem like a retread when they got to VDT (little did I know that in PC, Sumione would morph into SuXena). Secondly, I just don't like the idea of Narnia aping the Potter.
I'm going to re-post my best/worst moments from LWW from the original thread, this time with explanation for my best scenes I liked, and a few changes.
LWW Best:
1. Aslan's Sacrifice. While I think this should have been focused on more, it was a very powerful scene none the less. Georgie and Anna's acting was just so good, and they just looked so sad.
2. Lucy finding the wardrobe/ Meeting Mr. Tumnus. Again, Georgie's acting was so good, and that look of child like innocence while talking to Mr. Tumnus and entering Narnia was well done. I also liked Mr. Tumnus' portrayal and character done by James McAvoy. Tumnus indeed was a very nice faun.
3. Coronation. This scene was very majestic and really just visually beautiful. The children had really changed since the beginning of the movie. They looked like they now had confidence with Aslan on their side. I wish we could just see the coronation scene that has been cut.
Worst:
1. The melting of the snow. I didn't like it because it wasn't long enough, and it was said it was the children were the source of the melting, not Aslan. Aslan did it! Not some regular children! They have virtually no power at all, so why the children? And it kind of lessened Aslan's character's meaning to the Narnians who had lived through a 100 year winter.
2. The statue freeing. It wasn't long enough, and most of the freed statues did not seem to rejoice that they were free. Again, Aslan's character was kind of affected to me. The Narnians were just rejoicing to no end in the book that somebody had saved them from imprisonment. They should have been glad, because keep in mind the White Witch ruled for 100 years, and who knows how long some of them had been in statue form...
3. The Battle's length. Now while that really isn't a moment, I felt that Aslan's death and resurrection should have been more in focus, although I still do like the scene a lot. The battle isn't really the heart of the book, so I kind of wish it had been shorter.
Some of the best moments for me were
The whole bombing sequence in the beginning, it really made me understand the kids and what they were going through, the tension and fear
I loved the whole ride on the train
Lucy discovering the wardrobe
Lucy meeting Tumnus
The part when all the kids land in Narnia
The scene where the children meet Aslan
The whole battle scene
Aslan coming back to life
The cornation
The very last part after the credit when Lucy asks the professer if they will ever get back to Narnia
(these were only a few, I loved the entire movie, so I don't have any parts that I would say are the worst )
always be humble and kind
Best
1. The Battle was absolutely incredible the first time I saw it, though now I could point out a hundred things Peter did wrong it still is pretty exciting.
2.Lucy first coming into Narnia, the wonder on her face is so real.
3.The centaurs! So incredibly noble and graceful, not to mention some pretty mean fighters too!
Worst
1. Susan on the ice. Sooo corny.
2.The battle could have been longer.
I can't even think of a third, that movie is so perfect!
Best Moments:
1. Lucy entering Narnia/meeting Tumnus
This scene really captured the feel of the book, in my opinion. The childlike wonder and mystery was felt. Fantastic acting by Georgie and James as well as fantastic direction.
2.The White Witch's entrance
It felt like it came right from the book. Also, good acting from Tilda and Skandar. The best parts of this film were mostly due to acting, now that I think about it.
3.Edmund in the White Witch's prison
Out of all the additions to the movie, this was the best. It was the perfect turning point for Edmund's character. A ton of credit once again goes to James, Skander, and Tilda for that.
Honorable Mentions: Aslan's death and the credits extra scene. Alos anything with the four previously mentioned actors.
Worst Moments:
1.The entire frozen waterfall scene.
I understand what they were trying to do here, but it didn't work. Plus, a lot of the decisions made by the character's here made no logical sense.
2. Father Christmas' line about it changing to spring because of the kids arrival.
It was Aslan, not the four kids! Enough said.
3. Aslan's Entrance to the movie
It wasn't that is was terrible, it just seemed not good enough for the most important character in the series. Probably my biggest problem of this movie was the demoting of Aslan to almost a minor character.
