I love it. Beards are very kingly in my opinion. Plus, I doubt Caspian would be worrying about shaving while sailing on the Dawn Treader. I actually think it would be more realistic if Drinian also developed some stubble along the journey.

at first I was like, "Ben with a beard? what?" but then my brother pointed out a cool fact:
in PC, you will notice that all of the grown men who are Telmarines have beards. my brother said that it makes sense for Caspian to have one since he is a Telmarine (a good one!)! he is supposed to be older, so he has a beard! I think it is cool!

I like the beard. The first time I saw it I was sort of surprised to see Ben in a beard, but it makes sense. He needs to look older somehow, and a beard is one of the ways to do so.

I agree with Ilovefauns. It would be ok with me either way. It's only been 3 years for Narnia, so he didn't HAVE to look older. But it's nice, making him look kingly.

I like it. I makes him look older and more "king like". He actually reminds me of Orlando Bloom at the end of the third Pirates movie. I think it works and I agree with bkey, beards are very kingly.

Though I have to admit his bear grew on me, and now I don't mind it as much, and have accepted the fact it's there. but...not that I can control what Ben wants!! He has his own face! (Laughs) The name of the thread made me smile and chuckle.

I voted "it's okay." I think being king and a Telmarine, and being on a long voyage where you generally neglect your toilette , requires a beard. But I would prefer a goatee look, as fantasia mentioned. Also, I don't think Ben really has a beard "face" ... if you know what I mean. A beard? Yes. Ben's beard? No.

I can see where you are coming from 220Chris! I can see why being a king a Telmarine and a man on a voyage are all very good reasons for him to have a beard and I have almost had my mind convinced with all the good points but I will still stand on my own personal opinion for now that he looks better without a beard

Good evening to everyone . I think, that Mr. Barnes is a great actor and his new "asset", the beard is ok. According to me with the beard he has more imposing pretence.
