Did they show the whole movie, or just the parts they wanted to ask questions about?

Well yes they hand out a paper after where they ask for people to comment. That is the point of a test screening so that they can figure out what isn't working for people and what doesn't make sense. They don't hand out a paper saying you can't talk about the film after because like you said they want you to recommend the film to everyone.

Yes Dinode, in a test screening they show the full uncut movie. When I see it again it wont be the edited movie I saw because they'll take things out and sometimes they'll add something in.

Jill+Tirian! Let there be Jilrian!
If there was a screening recently, then i would guess one reason why we might not have heard any big spoiler reports from it, is that they specifically targeted Parents with Young Children for the screening (as the IMDB forum post indicated) and such demographic groups are far less likely to go and do a full write up of the movie to send to Aint It Cool News than the usual Male 15-25 sort of group whom most big blockbuster movies tend to target.
Does a test screening actually mean that we'll get spoilers? They could have told them not to give anything away...

That is true icarus. Though you think that they would want to get more then just families and also some young adults.

I don't know. A bunch of kids on IMDB answered Narniawebs questions about the PC screening. They didn't go into detail on what they saw until they were asked. At first I thought that they were all liars until we got footage of those weird tv spots that indicated they were not lying.

If we find out about a VDT test screen, we should stack the audience with nothing but purists.
LOL! That's a brilliant idea Bookwrym! Now, how could we go about accomplishing this...

I think Disney had one of the LWW at the El Capitan Theater. If memory serves, someone posted on NW or IMDB that they had seen a preview, but didn't get very specific. Also, said that it wasn't a "planned" event, just that they were walking around and were asked if they wanted to see a test screening of an upcoming film.
Adamson talks a bit about the test screenings on the DVD commentaries...in a way that made me think they have more than one.
I wouldn't be surprised if Fox has already screened VDT, if not in the US, then somewhere in the UK. But remember, Fox had problems with X-Men footage leaking out last year and they didn't sound too enthused with showing footage at Biola, so maybe they are holding back.
So, who knows. The script was passed around so many times, maybe they are confident with the storyline without getting audience feedback.
I always hate test screenings, because if someone says that the movie is bad early, it sends the whole forum into an uproar, and we're all trying to justify it by saying that, "It's just one reviewer." I'm all for spoilers, but I would rather they be from official news sources rather than anonymous people on the internet who can say whatever they want about the movie.
I hope they do at least 1 screening with a narniaweb member there.

hmmm... idk, a test screening could be nice, but yeah, I don't want everyone to start overreacting.

How do people get into test screenings anyways? Or premiers for that matter? I mean that would be really fun! And at test screenings do they have some of the cast and crew there?
