The amazon description says it's in its original aspect ratio (21). Release date is the 13th of March. Do we know anything else about this release? I hope the aspect ratio fix is true!!
Makes me wish we lived in a world where a dodgy aspect ratio on the DVD was the only thing wrong with Voyage of the Dawn Treader...
Um...I should probably understand this already, but...what does that even mean? Original aspect ratio?
Original aspect ratio?
Skip to the 1:16 mark of this video for an explanation on the AR change on the Dawn Treader DVD/Blu-ray.
As an update, I asked amazon to check the aspect ratio specs, and they sent me a semi-automated e-mail saying that they had, but the aspect ratio has not been changed. Meaning, it seems like this release might actually be in the OAR. Hopefully the color has been restored too (the orignal release on DVD was bleached out a bit). I know the ppl at blu-ray.com have been notified. But so far the news is good!
That's strange. I see there are other versions of VDT on Blu-Ray out already. Why bother coming out with another version? Especially this late after the release. You would think they would have released them all at the same time.
I'm not sure VDT was popular enough to warrant another version of it.

It says there is only one used copy available, and no new ones...

It looks like it's been taken down... no picture, no product, and only one used copy (which is an astounding $99, and also does not provide a picture). o_O
So it was originally a actual product, but it's been taken down?

It was certainly real, as there's 250+ reviews (and, given law of averages, I can only assume that at least half of them actually purchased it vs. rabid fan reviewers ) and it's got a listing, but I suppose it wasn't worth restocking once they ran out.

Perhaps they're switching from actually selling the product to you through the mail, to downloading it to your computer? I've seen them switch other products like that, and the product profiles can get a bit funky during the transition...

From Wikipedia:
"Walden Media President Micheal Flaherty stated in an interview that 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment and Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment are developing a collector's edition box set DVD and Blu-ray containing the first three films."
Maybe this is what it was supposed to be.
A collectors edition containing all three films on blu-ray.
It would not surprise me considering it has been done a decent amount of times with past released sequels.

Ah, okay. I don't typically prefer downloads vs. a physical copy, and when I do, I don't purchase through Amazon. Thanks for the info!
That is weird that they would change something in that way. Do they get permission for things like that first? Does the company releasing it make that change themself? Something else?
