Yuck. Very un-Australian of me, I know. (To be fair, the one time I tried damper, it was when we made it at a school camp and it came out dirty and smoky and not very nice.)

It usually is much easier to cheat by grabbing a bag of damper rolls from Woollies or Coles, instead. I suppose there is a knack to making damper, in a campfire, without wrecking the place?
