Mirlitons? (I thought these were children's toys for a while, until I found out they are actually the same as the once ubiquitous ye olde Australian chokos, whatever they are called in the rest of the world)

Mirlitons may be sweets in some parts of the world, but in the US they seem to be a green gourd vegetable that is often served with savory stuffing.
The sweets sound nice, but I have no idea how I feel about the gourds. <.<

(In Australia, mirlitons are called chokos, a rather bland accompaniment to stewed or baked rabbit for an economical family meal, during the Great Depression, and throughout WW2, when there was a rabbit plague, here, and when chokos could be grown on a vine lattice or trellis. Mirlitons get mentioned in crossword puzzles.)
