A scientific treatise examining the April 1815 eruption of Tambora in Indonesia, and its effect on the world, when the next year, 1816 AD, was called in USA, "The year without summer", and comparing it with other such volcanic explosions, which have caused similar occurrences of wintry years, with little or no summer at all.
