I'm back in Australia (where I grew up) and it never ceases to amaze me how different the scenery is from anywhere else in the world! 

Life is different when situations and people are changed

They say that when one opportunity shuts, another opens, one way in which situations can become more hopeful. 

Sometimes remembering the past can cause one to be more hopeful for the future.

Sometimes life is confusing

Train travellers find it confusing when nothing runs to timetable. 

In The Aunt and Amabel, a short story by E. Nesbit that very likely inspired C.S. Lewis, a little girl finds a mysterious railway timetable that includes a station called "Bigwardrobeinspareroom"...  

Tickets for the train at the station had been cancelled

I hope my flight back to the UK tomorrow isn't cancelled!  

I hope your flight back home will be smooth and uneventful. 

The journey home has indeed been uneventful so far!

(I'm currently in Kuala Lumpur waiting for the flight to Heathrow.) 

I know that a flight from UK to Australia is a very long journey, often in two sections.

I followed the directions and still couldn't make sections to the pie correctly.

Had you lined your pie tin with the pie pastry, then put it in the fridge, whilst you followed instructions how to make the filling, you might have had a different result. 

The next time there is a pie contest I will be sure to follow a different recipe.
