Balancing the rights of the individual and the collective is both crucial and complex.

The hospital complex sprawled for several hectares, & finding my way to the right department kept me late.  

Fortunate is the person owning hectares of land nowadays!

Australia is known for being a land of drought and flooding rains.

The recent flooding in Taree has caused residents much pain and grief.

Many residents within the vicinity of the flooded areas also needed to evacuate.

You could go on for eternity to work out some mathematical problems when 99.99 to the power of three, will always go on for infinity. 

Eternity in paradise would be a wonderful thing, but to sojourn in the shadowlands is our current lot!

Would the definition of "shadowlands" be living in a locality with weeks & weeks of cloudy weather?  

One would be encouraged to seek out a dictionary for the definition of a word one is unfamiliar with.

It depends on which sort of dictionary one uses, whether it is for technical jargon or to translate from one language to another. 

J.R.R. Tolkien was a philologist and studied languages which is evident in his stories.

Having studied by Distance Education through the C.S.U. campus at Wagga Wagga, I gained a professional qualification. 

It is not the distance from the bus to my job that I dislike, but having to walk it in rain and cold.
