Sam groaned. "I am not your father!"

Alice-Jane began to cry. Her tears where hot and black.

"Surely you must remember the Beetle Councils, Daddy!" she cried. "And the seagull shootings! And the pelican dance!!!"

"No, I don't remember any of that, because it didn't happen!!" Sam sat up and wrung his hands in desperation, "How about instead of a seagull shooting we have a Sam shooting?"
"Oh Sam, how in the world could you say such a thing?" chided Jen. "Haven't you realized you can clear all of this up just by adopting them?"
"And that would clear it up!?!?" gasped Sam in horror, glancing at Steve and Alice-Jane.

Sam was disgusted. "Why on earth would I adopt these vampires!?!!"
Alice began to cry. Steve began to cry. Sam was getting annoyed.
Then Jen began to cry.

"But I'm not a vampire!" Alice-Jane cried. "Don't you remember? I'm not the same thing my brother is! I'm actually a..."

Sam was getting a headache. Was this all a horrid nightmare? would he wake up and have a good laugh about it with Jen?
Sam really hoped so, but it all seemed strangely real for a dream.....

"This is my favorite!" said Alice Jane as she returned with a large frosted mug full of the liquid. "Whenever I'm tired or confused; this drink clears it all right up!"

Alice-Jane laughed a bit. "He doesn't like it obviously!"
Steve just shrugged and wandered into the sitting room.

Then Jen walked up. "Sam, are you telling me the truth? I'm starting to wonder. These people really seem to know you. And what are you drinking?"

Jen gasped. His face was the color of ash and his eyes were purple.

Alice-Jane looked at Sam. "Oh Daddy you look so handsome now! That drink really did the trick."
"Yeah," Steve agreed. "I rather like it."

Jen had shocked so badly that she couldn't stop staring, horror plain on her face.
Alice-Jane smiled. "But I think Mommy doesn't much like Daddy's new look."
