threw Sam into a tall tree. Sam landed on a high branch and lay there, unconscience.
little Clam smiled and ran off. Jen was tied to his back. She wasn't moving. But she was breathing

Sam had to get out of that tree! He looked down, and gasped. Slowly climbing up the trunk of the tree was a...

large spider! The spider was the size of a chair! Sam shrank back in revulsion.
As the spider got closer, Sam reached for the branch above him.
The spider said, "Stop! Not another move!"
Sam froze.
"I am he called Goo. Who might you be and why are you in my tree?"

"Uhhh...." Sam said, "you won't believe me when I tell you but... a clam threw me up here. I would love to get down, and I'm extremely apologetic for the intrusion. If I get down immediately, do you promise not to harm me? I can't get down if you don't promise, since I will have to pass you in the process of climbing down."

Goo laughed, and to Sam's relief, it didn't seem to be a mean laugh.
"Come down, dear boy," said Goo, "And do not fear. I will not harm you."
Sam came down. "My friend jen has been taken by a Clam."
Goo looked at him, horrer in his eyes. "Then we have no time to loose! Quick, get on my back."

"On... Your... Back?" Sam's voice was rather quivery.
"Why yes! Hurry up boy, and don't dilly dally!"
"Uh, yeah! I mean, yes Sir!" and Sam scrambled onto the spider's hairy back with only the faintest shudder.

Goo sniffed the air. Then he ran off at an incredible speed in the direction that Clam had taken Jen.
Sam was afraid at first, but then found that he was in no danger of falling off Goo's back. So he just clung to the spider with his knees, as one would when riding a horse, and hoped that they were going to be in time to save Jen.

Sam and the spider ran for what seemed forever, following little Clam's tracks. Then finally they disappeared. "Where have his tracks gone?" Goo said. Sam looked around until he saw a trail of blood, leading into some bushes a couple of yards away. He went over and looked in and saw-

Clam, lying dead in the bushes. Sam took a step back. Suddenly, something - or someone - flew out of the bushes and hit Sam, pinning him on his back.
Sam felt all the air get knocked out of him.

When he finally got his breath back and was able to look up, he saw what had knocked him over.
It was a fierce little zebra, with spots instead of stripes.
"Why did you knock me over?" Sam asked.
"Try and take a guess," it answered...

"Um, you think I am some kind of bad guy?" Sam said. "Aren't you the genius," the zebra said slyly. "Sam! Is that you?" Sam heard the voice of Jen. "Jen! Jen! Yeah this is me, Sam! Are you okay?" "Yeah I'm fine!" All of a sudden Goo jumped on the zebra, biting it and injected its poison. A few minutes later the zebra lay dead on the ground.

When they looked at the dead zebra, they noticed the spots on its body were glowing. Then they began to move! Suddenly...

...the spots jumped from the body of the zebra and spread across the ground at a staggering rate. After only a few hours, the whole earth was covered with little green spots.

Then, the spots came together and began to form a shape. The shape was Jen! She was huge at first, but then she shrank back to size and stood in front of Sam and Goo, glowing an eerie shade of green. Then, she stopped glowing and smiled at Sam.

"I have been in another world, Sam," she said. "I have learned many things. Strange things. One of them was about you and I. It was...."
