Sam sighed. "We've been through a lot. How could it get any worse than this?"
Just then, the glass beneath them shattered and they all three fell!

Jen screamed as they fell, but the hole seemed to have no bottom! they kept falling and falling -

As they fell, Cal produced a bag from somewhere and pulled from it a ball of neon green yarn and a pair of knitting needles. Winking at Sam and Jen, he proceeded to knit at quite a speed. As he worked, he sang "100 Bottles of Beer on the Wall."
By the time he had reached "42 Bottles", his project had taken the shape of...

a rope!
Cal threw them the rope (which is a difficult thing to do in mid-air) and they caught it. There were thick strong branches all along the walls of the hole through which they were falling, and they decided to try to lasso one of the branches.
Jen through the rope, but kept missing. Then, just when she thought the rope caught hold of a branch...

the branch desintigrated! Jen screamed as she fell past Sam and Cal. Cal didn't seem worried, but Sam yelled, "Jen!"
Cal threw part of the rope he was knitting and Jen managed to catch it.
all three of them held onto Cal's rope as they kept falling!

Right as they were about to hit rock bottom cal turns into a Griffin and carried Jen and Sam to safety.

"Impossible!" sam says while they soar though the clouds.

They were carried away from the whole and out into the sky. Below them they could see the crumbling world of glass. Jen held onto Sam, and watched as all the sparkling shards glinted in the sun. Cal, now in his true form as Griffen, gave a long call.

"Sorry for concealing my true self to you for so long. Those cats would have killed me if they had known."

Sam shrugged "That's alright Cal, thanks for saving us. But could you take us back to the other world? We have that book and turning our backs on that place would be....dishonorable"

Cal smiled. "Of course. I was going to head that way!"
Jen sighed. "Sam, we have had a crazy time!"
Sam nodded.
Just then, an eagle with a fierce expression on it's face came flying out of the clouds right at Cal! Cal swerved just in time -

Give it to me! the eagle screeched in a dark, raspy voice!

Give what to you? sam yelled back.

Give me the book! it screamed.

but before Sam could do anything, Jen grabbed the book and throws it into a huge lake.

"What in the world did you do that for???" Sam yelled at Jen. "Because that eagle can't have the book! it is better if we both don't have it!" she said. Just then the eagle landed on a tree branch and turned into a---

Platypus.
Jen gasped and Sam gaped, "What on earth!!???" he cried.
"Thank you!" said the Platypus, "You have released me from a terrible spell!"
"Oh come on," said Jen, very irritably, "This just gets cheesy-er and cheesy-er! What's next, a pink elephant?"

All of a sudden a pink elephant appeared. "What????!!!" Jen screamed, jumping back. "Be careful what you wish for," the Platypus said. "When you are with me, anything you wish for comes into being." "Cool!" Sam said, acting like a little boy. "Um...let me see, I wish I had a million dollars!" a million dollars worth of gold blocks appeared. Sam reached for one. The Platypus reached out and stopped him, "That's the catch." And then....

The pink elephant started charging toward them! Jen screamed. Sam started running. But the platypus strangely stayed behind, and said...

"Go home evil pink elephant!" the platypus said, "Here's some Cheetos, take 'em and go home!"
Jen stared at the platypus, then the elephant... The elephant took the Cheetos gladly, but when he saw they were spicy he started to cry!

"Aww, don't cry!" Jen old the elephant. She turned to the platypus. "What's your problem? Creatures who grant wishes are supposed to make others happy! And yet, you wont let my friend have his gold, and you make elephants cry!"

"Well....um" the Platypus stuttered. "You should be ashamed of yourself!" Jen said. "Um...ok...this is weird. I am sitting here, with a crying pink elephant to my right and a talking platypus to my left. What kind of world is this? We really should be going..." Sam directed his attention to the Platypus. Just then Sam woke up to.....
