Isn't it even worse that some of these current fires were lit by unsupervised children, playing about with matches & in one case with a mini blowtorch?
Do they not teach kids about the dangers of bushfires — and of playing with fire in general — any more?

Don't the local fire brigades come around each year to visit primary schools any more, like they did when I was little?

Couldn't I assume that when I see a fire truck or a police car outside a local school that they might be there to give talks to the school?
Or maybe one of the kids has just been trying to burn down the school?
"Now you are a lioness," said Aslan. "And now all Narnia will be renewed."

Don't those people, scattered & in temporary accommodation, still own land & businesses in the areas impacted by those devastating bushfires?
And — just as the bushland is already starting to regenerate where the fires are now out — won't many of the landowners come back and start rebuilding as soon as they can?
