Would you still use words which might have more than one meaning in USA, if you knew that elsewhere in the English-speaking world, those words might only have the one meaning?
Might that not lead to a potentially embarrassing situation when an Englishman such as myself visits America and says something which has a perfectly innocent meaning in England but which has another, less savoury meaning over there?
Doesn't the same sort of thing happen when people from UK and USA visit Australia or New Zealand?
Is visiting Australia at this time of year a good idea?

Doesn't it depend on which surfing beaches you would like to visit at this time of year?
What if I'm afraid of sharks?
How about if sharks were extinct all of a sudden?

Is it the right season for sharks to be patrolling the shores around Australia?
Do sharks even eat dryads?
Isn't a good idea for dryads and humans alike to wear shark repellants?
Wouldn't it be safer for everyone to avoid shark-infested waters?
God rest you merry, gentlemen,
Let nothing you dismay.

Wouldn't that be like asking people not to go into the surf at coastal beaches anywhere?
Are you implying that all coastal waters are infested by sharks?
Isn't there a certain salinity and temperature they prefer?
Love God, love people
What about other hazardous creatures in the ocean?
God rest you merry, gentlemen,
Let nothing you dismay.
