What's the most recent book you read by an author whose works you hadn't read before?

I just finished I Live Again by Ileana, Princess of Romania and Archduchess of Austria. I hadn't read anything by her before and am not in fact certain she wrote anything else.

What's a song you've been enjoying recently?

"Shasta's Complaint" by Sarah Sparks, from her Narnia-inspired album Into the Lantern Waste  .

What's been your go-to genre(s) of music as of late?

Western themes/soundtracks (classics like El Dorado, The Magnificent Seven, etc.).

Do you ever listen to old time radio shows?

I've recently been listening to The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (1978)... does that count?? (And for something a bit more old-time, I also recently listened to an excellent 1940s BBC radio adaptation of The Pilgrim's Progress.)

If you could learn to play any musical instrument — other than one you already play, if you do — which would you choose?

Since I think I'd have to start over from scratch anyhow, the violin.

If you were able to have a new or completed book by any author (living or dead), what author would you choose (feel free to say if there's a specific book you would want from them!)?

Me too!!

As for the next question... definitely the most unforgettable and mind-blowing trip was the Holy Land tour — Israel and Jordan — that I did with a lovely group and wonderful guides back in 2014! I'd call it "the trip of a lifetime", but I do hope I get to do at least a few other things as amazing as that while I'm on this earth...  

If you could live in any period of history — past or future! — other than now, which era would you choose and why?

I think I would choose to live in Ancient Rome. I just find it such a  diverse and interesting time period, where many ideas were being developed that we still use today! 

If you could make up a holiday, what would it be? 

I'm thinking National Stay-Home-and-Read-a-Book Day sounds good; it would be a federal holiday.

Do you set an alarm to wake up in the morning?

Yes, I do. Sometimes I'll even set up two but not because I can't wake up or press snooze just to get me used to getting up early.

Where do you want to go on your next vacation?

I'd love to see Scotland or maybe Ireland in the future, but right now I'm really longing to visit my grandparents in Utah.

If you could have one conversation with a fictional character, who would you like to speak with?

I'd have to go with Maximus from Gladiator.  He was such an inspiring character, and a dedicated family man.

What is your least-favourite season and why?

Summer, it's hot.
