I was wondering do any of your birds nibble away at the wallpaper and furniture when you let them out (if you let them out) cause that is a seriouse problem that our Robby has. I just wanted to know if that is what birds do best or is it just my rascle.

Birds have a knack for chewing. It does help keep their beaks shortened (they will keep growing if they don't chew on hard things). Our birds have chewed on the blinds, the door frame, just about anything. It kind of helps if you keep toys they like in their reach. Doesn't work all the time, though! I find thin wood toys are favorites for my birds. There also is 'bitter apple'; it's a spray that you put on what you don't want them to chew on. Also doesn't work all the time. Birds are just natural chewers! That's why I also give them the cereal boxes. Gives them something to chew on. Cuttle bones are also good-gives them calcium too. One of the favorite chew toys of my birds was a wooden ladder that I had one time when I used to clip their wings. They chewed that thing until there wasn't much left! ;))

I got a bottle of that when I got Fiona. I tried spraying one of my couch pillows down with it cause she likes to steal them. She just sat there and licked it. 8-| So much for that.

Anyways... this year my husband and I decided it would be wise to set up our Christmas tree outside instead of inside. We were outside putting up Christmas lights last night when I got this picture...

Well, let me tell you the process in which I got this picture and then maybe it will make you feel a little better. ;))
My husband and I were outside setting up the last of our Christmas lights and Murky was sitting in the window watching us. I was like "awww, that's so cute, I gotta take a picture." So I run inside to grab the camera and of course Murky's following me around howling at me cause he wants to go outside too.
I get back outside and prep the camera except Murky is inside pouting and doesn't jump back up on the table behind the window.
So I go back inside and grab him and plop him on the table and go back outside and he's sitting there with his behind to the window ignoring me. So my husband starts tapping the glass and stuff trying to get him to turn around and look at us (which he finally does) and I'm fiddling with the camera making sure that it'll take the picture correctly.
Course the first round, since I'm not using the flash, it won't focus at all, so I have to switch to manual focus, zoom in, take another picture, realize I haven't turned the flash off again, turn the flash off, take a few more pictures.... yeah.
After all of that, I had one turn out well. And even that one I had to touch up a smidge in photoshop cause it was a bit dark. ;))

fantasia_kitty, I really like that photo, looks kinda mystical or enchanted to me :)

On the subject of birds chewing Robby only likes wallpaper, at least he don't chew on anything else (he likes the chalk that I get him too, but then that isn't furniture. That is something he is supposed to bite at :D ) Robby's late friend Alan *moment of silence* chewed on just about anything in sight. From the door frame to curtain rods to our window plants he tasted it all. Once my older sister's boyfriend came over and when he saw our birds of course he wanted to get to know them, so he stuck his hand in the cage. First he put Robin on his finger, and Robin just sat there and looked at him very sweetly "oh what a nice bird," he said, then he turned his attention to Alan. He was reaching with his finger for Alan and Alan took a chomp at his finger. Being a budgie the bite only stung a bit, but boy was that a shock. "why you...you mean bird," was all that he could say, after that the two of them really hated each other. Each time my sister's boyfriend would come to the cage Robby would chirp pleasantly at him but Alan would only turn his head away and watch him grumpily out of the corner of his eye. Alan was only nice to me, my two younger sisters and my dad, everyone else was the enemy to him. Robby is nice to everyone and so everyone is nice to him.
I also have two red eared sliders (those are a type of turtle in case someone doesn't know) their names are Fedya, also known as Fed, and Bartholomew (odd names I know, my dad and I came up with them :D ). I'll try to put a photo of them as soon as I take on that looks at least a little nice. They are not photogenic at all, and come out looking rather silly on photos

I've had many pets over my lifetime but right now I just have my rabbit Patchy. He's my best freind and he can be absolutely hilarious. I think he's part English Spot and either part Rex or part Minnie Rex, but I'm not sure. He was named after his spots. His face is really cute because his markings make him look like he has a mustache, and his tail looks grey because the white hairs mix with the black ones, but if you get up close you can see the difference in the colors. Another odd thing about his appearence is his whiskers. For some reason they won't grow right, the one that do grow always end up way to short, curled, and kinked, but they don't seem to bother him so it doesn't worry me as much anymore.
He's a little over two years old and he has a little bit of a wild streak in him. He loves to explore new things and especially loves to be in his hutch outside so he can see everything. We don't put him outside over night or during the winter, and I know many other rabbit owners don't think that they should be allowed outside cause of the dangers, but in truth it would break his heart. Sometimes if its stormy outside we won't put him in his hutch, and instead I'll let him run around the house for a few hours, but ussually he'll just sit and pout in his cage or under the table, it's not that he doesn't want to come out cause he does in the winter or after he's been outside for a while. It's just that he likes being outside more than being indoors. I actually like this about him cause I'm the same way, give me a forest and I will be truly happy.
He's kind of a one person rabbit and loves to spend time with me, He lets me pet him more than my parents and we play all sorts of games, like chasing the cat toy or the rabbit version of tag. When he's out side we'll race around the hutch until the leader stops at a random window waits for the other to catch up then he sniffs my hand and we'll race in the other direction. He almost always leads, he has less room to cover and I have to navigate in the tight space between the hutch and the shed, but my lack of running skills don't help either. This is actually a game he taught me rather than me training him, and I absolutely love it.
He hates being held, but he loves to be petted especially on his forhead, but never his sides. (I thinks he's afraid that if you touch his sides it means you're gonna pick him up. He's also a highly destructive rabbit, he loves to tear apart cardboard boxes and napkins and dig up rugs. He also has this crazy thing for some shades of blue. Watch out if your around him and wearing blue cause he'll try to attack your clothes, but other that that he probably won't bite you, even if you try to pick him up (he'll just run off instead).
I tried to get a picture on here of him but can't quite figure it out, but one of his pictures is my avatar, so at least you guys can see aside view of his face.

I never realized that rabbits have such personality! I should know better, because I didn't think birds did either until I got mine.
Patchy sounds like a fun pet! :D

It's amazing how animals that you would think have no personality have huge personalities after you get to know one. I have raised several goldfish and a koi, and it is amazing how much personaliy a fish can have. :p

Believe me rabbits totally have a personality! Sometimes if I'm worrying about him or talking about him my parents and freinds will say, "ITS JUST A RABBIT" and a part of me wants to scream because I know he has such a huge personality and they don't X( , and a part of me wants to laugh (not at them, but at the irony of it) because I know that they would be so suprised if they knew him better. :D

I know! I was talking with one of my friends about Ty (my koi), and I mentioned he's a real goofball. She looked at me and said, "It's a fish." :p She looked so confused when I started talking about his personality.
