Oh and Rose whenever you do take her outside, stay away from sheds or similar hiding places. My rabbit once bolted under ours and I had to wait forever to get him out. Fortunately I spooked him out with a stick, which was not easy to grab while holding the leash at the same time...

Neville turns two months on Sunday! :)

Happy Belated two month birthday to Neville :D

but he did kick... and with rabbits if they kick too hard they can break their own backs.

wow I never knew that, that's really amazing....kinda scary too. I'll bet rabbits are really cool pets, I hope I can convince my mom to let me get one someday :) We just have to take it one step at a time, she let us have a guinea pig, now we'll wait a while till we ask for another pet :D

tucks that bit of information in her head :) thanks for telling me :) Lucy already has a love for trying to get to places where it will be hard to get her out, like crawling under the cupboards and under my bed

*Imagines people walking dogs, cats, guinea pigs, and rabbits* =))

you should have seen the looks on people's faces when I would take my turtles out for a walk. :D they would be like 'oh what do you have there....a turtle!!!!!!' :p

here's a recent picture of Lucy, I'm not sure how she did it, but she managed to turn her box over :)

Walking a turtle!!!!! =)) =))

She turned her box over because she wanted it that way. Even my gerbils could move things around. They really have a lot of strength in those jaws! ;)

My hamster is always flipping her "igloo" about and hiding her food dish... occasionally she'll put her food dish in her nesting compartment, where I can't take it out with out tearing the cage apart because my hand is too big, so then I'll use a napkin to put her food on until I either clean her cage, or she moves it to where I can reach it.

Patchy used to move his food dish all the time too he was very picky as to where it should be when he was eating, and where it should be when he wasn't... unfortunately those two places, didn't match =))

There were times when my last gerbil would bury his dish so deep (I had an aquarium and he had a ton of stuff to burrow in) that I couldn't find it. I eventually took it out and we just put the food on the top and he would move it to wherever he wanted it! I loved watching him fill up his little cheeks with food and moving it to his "storage" area; then emptying his cheeks (with a nibble here and there); and then repeating the process.

Although, as far as interesting things pets would move: we had a salt water fish tank years ago and we had a lunare wrasse (http://img845.imageshack.us/i/a6950lg.jpg/) that would pick up the gravel in the bottom of the tank and move it to where it wanted it. I would watch it pick up a piece and take it to a different place in the tank and then spit it out of its mouth. It was the weirdest thing! ;))

ramagut, Hah! My dentist's fish do that! I could never figure out why, but it's fun to watch while waiting for an appointment.

That was the only fish that we had that would pick them up in his mouth and move them. Others would push them out of the way, or pick it up and spit it out right where it picked it up. I still have no clue why that fish would do that!

I have a few stories to share but I'm too tired tonight. (-| I just wanted to pop in to say that today is Aravis's fourth Birthday. I got her three furry mice and I already am not sure where one is. :p

Aravis likes to cover her food dish with anything that is near it. She will also stand by it and make the same motions she uses when using her litter box. She likes to editorialize about the food. :p

My mom's cat does that with his food--he "covers" it when he's done like it's poo or something! ;))

Happy Birthday Aravis! :)

Oh, my cat does the 'covering motion' after she eats. She'll reach up and do the same thing to anything that's in the way. She even does it after drinking water! She'll reach over and paw the trash can which is beside her bowl! ;))

So my cat isn't the only one! Because her and her sister wouldn't agree on food bowls, I moved her bowl to her sleeping area/little exclusive area where her blanket is, and she covers the food all the time. I wonder why... When she started doing that, I would start when she did, being scared she might've left a present. ;))

My sister's cat doesn't really bother with where her food is, but when she can, she will move their water dispenser, or paw at the water before taking a drink. One day we found it at least 4 ft away from it's original position...

Happy belated Birthday, Aravis!! :)

Our cats' fourth birthday is coming around, as well. I can't believe they're that big already, I remember when they were just three days old!*sobsobweepweep*

I had a very unpleasant surprise this morning, I took the blanket off the bird cage and to my horror, the sticks on which the birds sit, the swing and the feed bowls were covered in blood :-o . After a close examination of both birds it turns out Robin has a cut on his foot. I'm not sure when he cut himself, but it must have been in the night. The cut doesn't seem to deep and it's not bleeding anymore......I'm a bit unsure of what to do, do I take him to a vet or do I wait a while. I'm afraid of it getting infected......I'm going to talk to my dad and we'll think of what to do.

If it has stopped bleeding, it should be okay. Make sure to keep the area clean, that will prevent infection. I don't think you would need to take him to a vet, unless it starts bleeding again and won't stop. Praying!

I second ramagut, but you may want to call the vet just to be sure... especially with small animals such as birds infections can set in quickly. Keep the area clean and keep an eye out for further bleeding or swelling/ infection. If it starts draining a brownish fluid that's a defitite sign of infection. Also you may want to inspect the cage for a sharp wire sticking out or sharp objects somewhere... and try to fix it or block it, so that it doesn't happen again.

thanks ramagut and wolfloversk, my dad also said he didn't think it necesarry to take Robin to the vet, we disinfected the cut and so far he seems happy, I am keeping close watch of his foot to make sure everything will be okay. I still can't see what he managed to cut it on, there's nothing sharp in the cage at all. He could have hurt it when flying around the day before but I think I'd notice if he'd hurt himself :- I don't know. My dad thought maybe Sophie nipped him but I examined the wound and it doesn't look like a bite, it looks more like he caught his foot on something, it's on the bottom of his foot so it is quite impossible for Sophie to have bit him there
