Gabe photo freakout!
One more...
So it's not quite a total freakout, just a partial one.

I finally got some pictures of my monster kitty.
Silas decided to pose for this one.
Honey and Patches decided to obey mommy and stay out of the bathroom, while Silas can stretch out where every he wants to.

I love all the stories and pictures!!!
FK, Fiona is growing quickly!!!
Love God, love people
Winterlife, your dog is gorgeous. If I hadn't discovered Newfies, I would have gotten a lab, probably golden.
aslansothername, is Silas gray or black? I can't quite tell (my monitor is blegh) Either way, he looks very content hanging out in the bathroom hehehe. And I wish I could get my dog to stay out of rooms she's not supposed to be in
Two stories from the weekend....
Murky is our fly disposal system. If he doesn't catch them himself (which he's quite good at), he'll eat them if we do. The other night, my husband killed a fly and gave it to Murky to get rid of. Murky bent over to sniff it like all cats do and it got stuck to his wet little nose. So he's sniffing around in the air trying to find where the fly is and my husband and I are . Finally my husband got it off of his nose so he could eat it properly, but it was still hysterical.
Fiona and I went to my parents-in-law's farm this weekend to dispose of some nasty wood. She got to hang out with the pet cousins... I suppose if I'm to continue my story, I should introduce the pet cousins....
The dog on the left is Orbit. The dog on the right is Io. The cat (who thinks he's a dog) in the back is Sammy.
So anyways, Fiona had an absolute marvelous time there. She and Io got to run round and around and around. Io's part hounddog so he could run really fast... Fiona is not built for speed and she's very young, so she couldn't even come close to keeping up. And then Io would chase her and he'd be nice and sorta trot behind her. It was really fun to see. Way better than Fiona chasing my cats all the time.
And Orbit was very motherly to her and kept an eye on her the whole time. I'll definitely be taking her back many times so she can play.
Well, fantasia_kitty, if you want to be correct, there's no such thing as a golden lab. There are yellow labs and golden retrievers, but no golden labs.
I'd really like to find and get a gun-metal blue lab. The American Kennel Club is recognizing gun-metal blue as an official lab color now. I'd like a girl and I'd name her (yes, I'm weird) Lad.
Another adorible Gabe photo from when he was a puppy:
His paws are still huge, but not quite as big in comparison to the rest of him. The family joke is he's so big, he has twice as much cute as a normal dog.

Let's see if I can dig up some pictures...
--Prince-- (We think up creative names.) Riiiiiiiight.
We've had Prince for... 10 years? Maybe 12? Ever since he was born. He's half Golden Retriever--(Molly was his mom, who we owned, but she's been dead for 8 years or so...) And then he's 1/4 Black Lab, and 1/4 of everything else.
--Un-Named Cat-- (She's been called Daniel, The Cat, Leopard and Panther. You have to admit--Daniel is the best. Even though she's a...girl.)
It's not the best picture of her... but oh well. I can't find a better one right now.
--Another Kitten-- (We had names for this one too, but never decided: Amos, Scruffy, Spike. You have to admit--Amos is the best. Especially since he's a... boy.)
This poor kitty was so cute... but he was skin and bones. And after we had him for 2-3 weeks, he disappeared... We don't know where, but he's probably gone for good.
--Duke-- (Another fairly original name. To fit in with Prince.)
Duke's the newest addition. Half Border-Collie and half Australian Shepherd I think. He's pretty fun--he drags Un-Named Cat around by the neck though. He's just playing and she doesn't seem to mind but... Hopefully she doesn't get hurt.
So yeah. That's about it. Prince, Duke and Daniel.

My mom bought my dog one of those toys you stick a treat in and they have to get it out Petsmart page. She put a regular milkbone in there and she totally ignored the toy. I was at the grocery store a couple of weeks ago and the thought had occurred to me was we needed a smellier treat. I picked up one and as soon as I stuck it in there, she was like "gimme!" She had it out of there in about 10 minutes.
Gabe loves peanut butter and cheese. You could try those.

Thanks winter! I'll have to remember that.
About two months ago, my mom brought a cat home. (Outside cat). Her name is Dixie. She's a sweetheart who loves to purr and doesn't mind being flipped over to have her tummy rubbed. For the first few weeks, she took up residence in a tree in the back yard. Then she moved to the shed in the backyard.
We had a cold front come through and dropped the temps from over 90F into the low 70s so I opened the window in my room. Dixie was up in the tree and she saw me from my window. She started meowing. Then she changed branches and changed branches again. She seemed to be trying to figure out how to get up to the roof. Then this morning, she meowed as soon as I came out to say hi. She's been a vocal little kitty the last few days.
Cool thread.
Queen Susan, why is your Un-Named Girl Cat un-named but called Daniel?
Once upon a time, my mom got my dad a dog, and the dog's name was Riley. He was awesome. Even though he did steal peanut butter crackers from me. Then he died. Then we got another dog named Mokey, and he was apparently the most awesome dog but that was only because the person we got him from wanted to get rid of him fast. He was awesome, and he put up with a lot of things, like me and my little sisters using his doghouse as a playhouse. But then we gave him away.
Now, we have a Bichon/Shih-tzu cross, and he is even better than the two previous dogs we had. He loves me best. He's really really bad about running away, and he'll grab any chance he can get to run out the front door and out onto the road. We live on a quiet cul-de-sac, so we can usually bribe him fast enough, but we do live very close to a busy street. Which is really scary, and embarrassing for me, because inevitably, there'll be about five cars stopped and waiting for me to grab him.
But, he's pretty cute. This is an old, old photo, and he's gone from mostly black to mostly grey, with strange, wiry black hairs on his back. We've had him for two years, and I picked him, although some of my siblings were voting for a spotted puppy. It was love at first sight - he climbed onto my shoulder, which was weird, but I fell in love with him. Really.

*coughs at the mention of a cold front bringing the temperature down to 70 degrees*
I finally got a decent picture of Blackie and Joe. It is just a tiny bit blurry (why can't gerbils hold still for a few simple photos?). I just need to upload it to the computer.

Teyla playing in the backyard:
She loves these terracotta pots that *used* to have flowers in them! She likes to lay in the soil that is still in them, usually in the sun. This time she has a rawhide bone. She's hard to get a picture of, because she's usually moving! When she's laying in the pot and I take the camera out, she comes running over to me!
*coughs at the mention of a cold front bringing the temperature down to 70 degrees*
What's so strange about that? We're into full autumn mode, it's only going to be 78F here today! Woo hoo!!
Love God, love people
I live in Alaska. Our cold fronts bring it to below zero farenheit. *loves really cold weather* It's snowing!
Teyla is so cute! I understand about wiggling pets. That reminds me, I haven't put that picture on the computer yet. One moment...
And here are a couple very recent ones of Gabe (it was just the other day; he was so cute I didn't want to resist *is tired of people saying they couldn't resist*).
And yes, I know the gerbil one wasn't rotated. This rediculous computer can't rotate pictures. It's rather old.

winterlife, I DO actually know about yellow labs and golden retrievers, and I always get the two names confused, and I'm sure that won't be the last time I do that. I LOVE the pic of Gabe as a puppy. Too cute!!!
ramagut, LOVE the pic of Teyla in the pot. She looks like a small bundle of energy. Oh, and I totally understand about the camera. Fiona has almost licked the lens many times.
This past week I took Fiona to the vet for her last round of puppy shots. Believe it or not, she's actually really fun to take to the vet because she wants to give everyone kisses. So the receptionists just love her. This time when we arrived, we arrived at the same time as the world's biggest German Shepherd. They were instant best buddies. They were running around in circles trying to sniff each other's behinds (which is perfectly acceptable for dogs unfortunately ) and me and the guy kept having to uncross our leashes.
Oh, and Fiona lost her first two puppy teeth Amazingly enough, her adult teeth are already in quite a bit. So I've been giving her a lot of ice cubes this week cause she loves them.
And finally, we went out and took a bunch of pics because all of the falling leaves were just beautiful. I had one great shot come out.
Beautiful picture FK!
And I love all the other pictures as well! (Love the gerbils--used to have them, too). I've had everything but reptiles. Almost bought a bearded dragon once, but ceppault wasn't too happy about it.
Love God, love people
