^^ Aww, I'm sorry Wild Rose! :( Did you say she was a guinea pig? I've had many of those. It's always sad when they go...

Aww, I'm sorry your first experience with them turned out to be bad. Don't let that discourage you. :) I've had many who lived to be about 5 years old. I'm glad you're willing to try again. :D

wild rose~I hope your experience goes better the next time around. I've never had guinea pigs, but I think they are so cute! I did have gerbils; I got one when he was real young (only a few months old) and he lived 6 years! Let us know how it goes.

@ramagut I had gerbils too :) A lot actually... a total of nine, two had six babies, and we got one after most of the others died... I can remember all their names too :D Sand, Sparkle, Sparky, Cinnamon, Albino, Midnight, Blacky, White-foot, and Ghost. 6 years is a long time for a gerbil! None of mine lived that long...

I'm not sure if I've ever seen a gerbil. What are they like? Are they like hamsters? How long do they normally live?

@EJ a gerbil is sort of like a hamster, but with a longer tail and longer legs, they normally live about three years... but some get to 5, and apparently 6. Most of mine only made 2.

Wolf~I can't believe you can remember all their names!!! I remember only a couple of them! My first one was Templeton and my last one (that I had so long) was Gus-Gus (from Cinderella).
But, my gerbils were all different colors: grey, black, brown, white.

Awwe, Gus-Gus is a cute name :) Yeah mine were all black, except for Ghost (who was dove), Cinnamon (who was cinnamon), and Albino (who was white, but not albino) Sparky was the runt of the litter, and very difficult to handle because he managed to get out of your hands easily. Albino and Ghost never bit anyone, but "boxed" you with their paws from time to time. White-foot chewed his cage to pieces, despite how many things I gave him to chew on. Cinnamon was a bit of an odd ball, but she was an excellent jumper. Blacky was just plain crazy and bit whoever came into site, he was also allergic to most types of bedding I used, so I switched him to paper bedding. Sparkle was a very protective mother. Midnight liked to be the boss. Sand was the most loyal (to me, didn't like my mom)... Yeah I have lots of gerbil stories :P

Well on Thursday, 2/10/11, my father's chihuahua had puppies, her fourth time I believe. This is however the first time I asked if I could have a puppy for my own. My father said I could keep a male. I picked a light brown one, and I named him Neville.

Yes I chose the name from Harry Potter, my favorite character since the third movie, before I read the books- and before the final book had been released. Once I read the books I loved the character even more, and the final book made it all the better still.

The puppies are only day's old so I can't touch them yet, they haven't even opened their eyes yet. But since my father is the one to take care of the dogs he can touch them, only him. Here's a pic of my new puppy in my father's hands.

Oh my goodness! Neville (love the name!) is so tiny and so cute!!! How exciting that you get to have one from the time it is born, even if you can't touch him yet!

Lucy85, ramagut,

Thanks. I love the name too. ;) My parents think it's weird though :p
It's definitely nice to have him from new born- but I should say I am used to having such small puppies around me. Never have I had my own however. I grew up around this. :)
