That's becaus Gabe is a sweetheart and wouldn't dream of hurting anyone. (Except for this one time, when Tishna bit him a little too hard...)
In case it isn't obvious, both narnian_at_heart and I argue about whose dog is better. (Gabe is cuter any day.)

But Tishna knows way more tricks than Gabe does. Tishna can shake hands, roll over, roll onto her back and play dead, fetch, pick up her dish and take it to her food bag, sit, lie down, and when we say "On the rug" she'll go lie down on the rug that is "her space". And we're teaching her to heel and she's a very good bird dog even though she's had no training at all.
But Gabe has better manners.
You know, we should just continue this argument next time we see eachother (Wendesday; better wait til after youth group).

Mod Note: Please remember to stay on-topic.
This thread is for discussing your pets. Even then, we'd rather not have you all arguing over who's pets are the best. Thank you.
God rest you merry, gentlemen,
Let nothing you dismay.

Here are my babies!!!!
this is Patches and Honey (the set of books at the upper left corner are my Narnia books!!!)
Patches is a pure Australian Shepherd, and Honey in a Golden Retriever with some thing else, but were not sure what. Patches is a sweet heart, but he can be stubborn. Honey just lives to please!!!!
I have Silas, my 15 lbs. kitty, too, but I don't have any pictures that are small enough to fit on here yet. Then I have my yellow beta fish named Sunny.
Patches and Honey enjoy doing Narnia and LOTR reenactments with me, and Silas is my little Aslan (even though he is sold grey)

@winterlife and narnian_at_heart, it's probably a good thing that you two like your own dog better, cause if you didn't, there would be problems.
@aslansothername, beautiful dogs! I love Aussies. I had one for three days once (we were puppysitting for my grandparents )
So my husband and I built a shelf for our cats (made out parts from an old scrapped furniture project of mine) this past weekend. We did it because Fiona likes to chase the cats and they don't exactly appreciate it. Abi gets downright freaked out.
You can see the top of my husband's desk in the bottom right hand of the picture. The cats jump up onto the box and then onto the platform. We'll be adding more boxes in the future to make it look artistic
Abi looking down from her place on high....
And here's Fiona trying to make friends with Murky who is wishing she'd go away.
Soooo.... anyone got any tips on how to train puppies to stop chasing cats? lol
No idea about puppies not chasing cats, my two doggies still chase my big cat around!!! You little puppy is sooooooo cute!!!!!!!

I really can't help with the dog-chasing-cat problem, because all our dogs have been afraid of cats. Gabe was once chased around for an hour by a yapping Yorkie, too. He's pretty passive, so he gets picked on alot.

Our dog is inquisitive. She wants to play with cats. A guy and his wife have a cat and they were watching our dog while we were out of town. The guy does not like the cat so he'd always try to get Tishna to chase the cat but she never would. She likes the cat.
Murky looks like my kitty! Although, my cat is male and is named Gandalf, but only goes by Kitty He is fat and lazy...but is very loveable and does not bite or scratch. He does tend to be scared of those he does not know and will lick the hand of those he does know
Murky is a boy. I worded that sentence badly so sorry for the confusion lol.
I snapped some pics of Fiona today cause... I dunno... bored I guess. And we got our GOOD camera repaired so they came out very nicely
Awwww.
Afraid I don't have any pictures, but in an effort to help keep the thread going...
I had a cat several years ago that adopted us. She was a stray who decided we would be at least one of her new families (I suspect she had more than one, but we were who she spent most of her time with.). She was jet black with very green eyes. Not a big kitty, when we took her to the vet, she weighed about 5 pounds. However, she was long enough to reach the doorknob when standing on her back legs and not on the small step.
She had a very particular look and way of walking that made her seem above it all and kind of exotic. So I named her Maui. Her manners earned her the nickname of Princess.
She was soo sweet. She loved to be petted, but she would also let you know when she had enough. She was the only outside cat I've met so far that overcame her aversions to dogs enough to eat from a food bowl off the top of the dog house with the dogs in the back yard.

A few mini-stories for today.
Yesterday I was outside in the backyard cleaning up dog messes and I have a roll of baggies that I put messes in. (I call them p**p bags, I hope nobody is offended by that term.) Anyways, as always Fiona felt the need to help so she's hanging out with me. While I'm in the middle of scooping up a mess, I turned around and my roll of p**p bags is gone and Fiona is flying across the yard with a long bright blue streamer of p**p bags trailing behind her. I think I was laughing to hard to discipline her. It was quite the site.
Abi has an obsession with cardboard. While she'll climb into any box she can find, if it's a cardboard box, she likes to shred the inside of it. Today she found an empty pizza box and was trying to dig her way in (or eat the box, not sure which). Now she's sleeping on top of it. Must be the best smelling bed ever....
I'm going to follow that up with a silly kitty story of my own...
Maui had a litter of kittens shortly after she adopted us and we kept one. I called him Snowball because he had a black head and whitish-gray body. He looked like a dirty snowball. Well, by the time he was six months old, he had owl colored (goldish) eyes and was as jet black as his mother except his coat still had that whitish-gray layer beneath the black. He was a much bigger cat (around 12 - 15 pounds), but just about as long if not longer than his mother. He knew his name by then, so I couldn't change it.
One of Snowball's favorite games was to play with a stuffed orange spider that I'd won at a carnival years before. I would toss it. He would chase it. Then he would pick it up and bring it back to me. Yup, he fetched! Of course he did it in typical cat style as he would only bring it part of the way or try and walk past me with it. He would also do the same with paper balls.
