Val, I was just thinking how you need to post a picture of her in here!
Sabine is so cute! Is she getting used to her new home yet?

hanks, DeDe! :D

She's definetly settling in. Having tons of fun exploring around my room, and she's already started stealing stuff away to her "hidey hole"--I found a few things behind my bookcase that weren't there yesterday :P

*scratches wash cats off list of things to do* I wasn’t seriously considering do it. It sound like more trouble than it is worth. Not too long ago I broke out in a rash from Blitzen. She had licked me. Sometimes it doesn’t bother me and sometimes it does. I could try going back to spraying the cats with water when they get in trouble. It might clean them. We stopped doing that because they wouldn’t stop even though they were quite wet (Myst and Shad I don’t think we’ve tried it with Blitz). I think I got some of Blitzen’s fur or something in my eyes today. It was my own fault I touched my eyes after petting. I have had a headache all day because of that and other allergy problems. :(

DamselJillPole – Caspian is cute. I like the story about how you got him. I used to volunteer at the Humane Society and we would feel so bad for the cats that had been there a long time. One cat was rather ugly and ended up staying a long time. One day someone came in and asked to adopt the cat who had been there the longest. We thought that was so neat. We said at that time we do that when we got new cats. Now I’m not sure. I’m kind of thinking about getting a kitten or at least a younger cat (so I can get it used to having claws clipped / bathing if I decide to do that). Do you know how old Caspian is?

Ramagut – Vala is cute too. She kind has that innocent / guilty look. ;))

Fantasia_kitty – Poor Fiona. And Poor you and your husband for having to deal with poor Fiona. When Shadow ripped her claws she wasn’t allowed to use clumping litter. She absolutely refused to uses newspaper or pellet litter. 8-| She would go on her bedding instead. We had to keep her shut in the bathroom so she didn’t make messes other places. She was not happy about that either and howled a lot. 8-| We switched her back to real litter a little sooner than the vet had wanted because it was such a pain. We had to check her feet to make sure the litter wasn’t clumping to her.

wild rose – Sophie sounds like a funny bird. Animals can be so funny when their schedules are messed with. Mystery gets very upset if the bed is not made in a timely fashion and squeaks at whoever is upstairs to do it.

Valiant_Lucy – Sabine is very cute.

Blitzen hasn’t been using her litter box very well. Her room stinks. :p We think she might not like the smell of the new litter (I can’t say I blame her, since I’m allergic to smell). Before we got her a covered litter box she would frequently miss so the carpet has already been damaged. We got her a second litter box and a new kind of litter so maybe that will help.

^Patchy's been having similar issues we took him out side with his other cage this time, and even though he has a litterbox in the hutch he decided not to use it. 8-|

Finally got his nails clipped, he was happy when he got his feet back on the ground. Still hates being held, but he only jumped once this time.

Daisy's getting more and more used to me. I'd even venture to say that she actually likes me. Its funny, cause sometimes you'll realize there's this bright-eyed hamster spying on you from her cage in the middle of the living room, when you're watching tv or doing hw.

I can't believe I'm leaving them soon! :(( :(( :((
At least I can comeback and visit :)

Thank you :)

I was told at the pound that they were assuming he was five or four years of age. Lately he's been lazy instead of full of energy like he used too. My mom thinks he's about nine, but he doesn't look it though. He's making me very nervous now because he's mostly been sleeping instead of playful anymore.

wild rose – Sophie sounds like a funny bird.

she is really funny, and a bit of a headache too. It's partly because I just got her recently so she is still very wild. About two days ago we had a power cut, and so their was no light. The birds where still out of there cage but I didn't worry cause as soon as it starts getting dark Robby flys to the cage and Sophie usually follows him. We stayed up late playing games (by candle light) and didn't get to bed till a little past midnight. It was pitch black in the room and I couldn't see if the birds were in the cage, but being pretty confident that they were I went to bed. My youngest sister was a bit late in coming to our room and when she did, she peeked into the bird cage using her cellphone to give some light. Then she informs me that there is only one bird in the cage, and since Sophie is officially my bird I had to find her. After a bit of search we spotted her on the curtain rod. Sophie is still very afraid of people and will fly away of you reach for her but since it was dark I just quietly came up and gently took her. Naturally she got a bit scared but instead of sqwuaking like I expected her too she bit me. Ouch!!! I never knew parakeets could bite like that! Robby doesn't bite at all and even Alan, who was quite good at biting people, never bit that hard. She bit me right in between my thumb and index finger and it really really hurt. And once she got me she really held on, I had already brought her to the cage and she still wouldn't let go, I guess she was saying "that will teach you to grab me when I'm not expecting it" Of course I don't blame her for biting me, I probably would do the same if I was grabed in the dark (I did warn her ahead of time that I was coming so as not to frighten her to much) I did have a little red mark on the next day where she bit me, which has never happened before (and I've been bitten a lot mostly by our late bird Alan) Sophie is a tough bird, and every day me and my sisters are learning how to communicate with her, but it's a lot of fun (at least we have something to spice up our days as every day Sophie pulls a new trick :) )

It's amazing how hard those little seed-cracking beaks can bite when the birds are scared or startled! I have been bitten many times by my cockatiels, my sun conure, and my mustache parrots over the years. (Well, formerly mine :( ). I feel your pain! ;)

wolfloversk, I hope Patchy starts using his litter again. Blitz is to be using both her litter boxes but the one with the new litter a little more (of course she still could be going outside of them as well).

DamselJillPole, I hope Caspian starts playing more again. The hard part about getting older animals is that it it is hard to tell how old they are (which influences their health and behavior). I have no idea what the life span for dogs is but indoor cats tend to live about 15-18 years. I think not that long ago it was 8 -12 but I'm not sure. Our former cats lived to be 19 or 20. Mystery and Shadow are already considered old :-s .

ramagut Telya is cute.

wild rose - Sounds like you had quite the adventure. I bet that did hurt. I would imagine it would hurt more being bit there then elsewhere. Our cats will occasionally nip or bit but they don't hold on.

Blitzen was on my lap tonight and when she got down I had to paw prints on my leg (not dirt but red spots from pressure) :)) .

I know there was something else I was going to post but I can't remember what it was. :p

I was feeding the turtles yesterday (since they are freshwater turtles I just sprinkle the feed into the water) and Fed had just taken a mouthful of feed but before he could close his mouth all the way Bart happened to be swimming by and got his foot to close to Fed's mouth and Fed bit it. Turtles have this bad habit that when they grab something they don't want to let go, and since they have quite strong jaw pressure I was afraid that Fed would just bite a piece of Bart's foot off. Fed didn't understand that he had gotten Bart's foot and the two of the wrestled for a while. I wasn't sure what to do but finally I tapped Fed on his shell. That did the trick, and he let go of Bart. whew #:-s Thankfully there was no blood or anything on Bart's paw (turtles are tough little animals) and he was just fine.

The birds started molting today *sighs feathers, feathers everywhere :|

My baby kitten has been going outside now. He don't go far at all though. He usally hangs out with his older half-brother on the carport. It's sweet to pull up in the car and see them asleep together. :)

Awe that is both sweet ramagut and kittengirl!

Sometimes it's very sad when puppies grow up. that's why sometimes i prefer smaller dogs and the kitten story was cute. My next door neighbors has this cat that gets pregnant all the time and she'll carry little kittens to my porch because it's very spacious. That's cute! :D
