DamselJillPole you have an adorable dog, he's so cute. Beagles are my third favorite type of dog. Dachshunds are number 1 German Shepherds number 2 and Beagles number 3 (Collies are 4, golden labradors 5 and so on )

Thank you wild rose!
I wish you could have seen his face when I saw him at the pound. Every dog in there were jumping around and smiling except poor little Caspian. He was just curled up in a ball in his cage looking so sad. Went I knelt down by his cage he walked over so slow just having this begging look of help. I just had to get him, he was breaking my heart.
And poor thing kept me up last night because he was sick but I'm happy that he is a lot better today

DJP: how long have you had him?
My Vala was that way at the pound, except she was standing up by the gate and I put my hand up to the gate and she licked my hand. That was that!
Love God, love people
I got him on August, 20 2008
Best day ever!! One day after my b-day was when I got him.

What a great birthday present!

I know it was my only present too and i saved a dogs life. It seriously makes me feel proud. I heard from one of the vets that he has been there for eight months.
I'm very happy I got him out of there.

Eight months! Poor thing! to Caspian!
My gift (even though it wasn't my birthday; she's still a wonderful gift) was only at the pound for a few days and the day I got her was the first day she was eligible for adoption. (Of course, 3 days after I got her she was diagnosed with Parvo and had to stay at the vets for several days )
My Vala:
(I have no idea what breed she is. She's some sort of Harrier/Fox Hound/who-knows-what mutt--but I love her!)
And, yes, she's relaxing on the couch with a pillow; she knows she's not supposed to be on the couch, but she's like a cat--she really doesn't care what we think!
Love God, love people
Awe Ramagut Vala is a very beautiful dog!
Mutts are always the cutest. My Caspian is a mutt but I have no idea what it is.
Yes she looks like a fox hound.

Vala looks real sweet ramagut, I love her coloration

Vala looks a whole lot like my parents-in-law's Io (like Jupiter's moon). He's a Treeing Walker Coonhound/Collie mix. He's a lot smaller than your Vala, but yeah, definitely looks like a cousin.
So my Fiona got her stitches out yesterday. Yay! That's the good news. The bad news is that we still have to watch her very closely over the next several days to make sure that the slice on her foot doesn't pop open again. I soaked it and washed it last night and I think it actually looks really good. Much better than I thought it would for being on the bottom of her foot. Still have to keep a sock on it and put a plastic bag on it when she goes outside.
Poor Fiona! Does she tolerate the sock? I guess she's pretty used to having something on that foot now.
Thanks for all the compliments on Vala!! She is beautiful! But I'm biased!
Love God, love people
Sorry for poor Fiona, I hope she gets better real soon
I was amazed at how Sophie is braver than Robby, I wonder if it is the fact that she is younger, or that she is female (or both ) she'll do all these crazy things and he'll look at her as if she is some sort of lunatic. Robin is a sweet and dear bird but he's not very bright (if you know what I mean) and sometimes he is just plum shocked at Sophie's behavior. Sophie has figured out where the door in the cage is and how it opens so she's been trying to open it for the past few days. Only the door slides up and down so when she lifts it is goes back down and she gets all worked up. Now that summer has almost arrived it's rather hot and stuffy so I only let the birds out of the cage around six, that way I can keep the window open longer, but Sophie wants to fly around at two or three o'clock so she hops around the door and looks expentantly at me as if to say 'well are you going to open the door?' and I shake my head and let her know that I'll let her out at six. Oh boy once she gets the point she throws such a fit. It's really funny to watch
, but a bit annoying to listen to
