I know isn't it just amazing that all animals have their own personality, did I menion Patchy has a jealousy problem? My mom recently bought a hamster for a class pet at the day-care where she works, but she brought it home first. I let her sniff my hand meanwhile, Patch just stood there glaring, then he started acting all crazy and tearing apart his newspapers and flinging them everywhere. THis isn't his first jealousy incident, but it's the first one with a hamster. This is kind of suprising since I had my hamster Socks before Patchy and she was still alive when we got him. He showed no problems toward her, but maybe its cause she was already apart of the environment. Unfortunately this hamster has since disapeared- Check out the prayer request forum for more info on her. How ever this just proves further that animals have very big personalities. Nice pictures by the way

We were out at the family farm this weekend (we go their a lot) and we always take Fiona with us. She has the most wonderful time out there. But this weekend she surprised me by making friends with the pony! None of the farm dogs that belong to our in-laws have ever done this. Apparently Chica (pony) and Fiona were playing "tag". One would chase the other around and then vice versa.
Personally I think this might have been a ploy by Fiona to gain access to Chica's horse tank so she could go swimming. What possesses her to jump into the water when it's cold out is beyond me, but that's what she's bred to do.
Here are a few pictures of my snow puppy that's apparently immune to cold. The first was from a snowstorm a few weeks ago and the second is from last night.
aw, Fiona is cute, but Snowy-Fiona is even cuter!
I've never posted in here before, but thought I'd finally jump in and post a pics of my cats.
This is from my facebook, but I'm pretty sure I've made it so even if you're not my friend on there you can still view it.
My mom has hurt her back and has been spending a lot of time laying around on the couch, five of our seven cats decided to join her:

By the way, Pattertwigs Pal, I love your cats and the "throne"! It so much reminds me of my 2 boys on my mom's bed (she lives with us--for another week anyway). For some reason, they take over her bed and fight over one spot. Cats, you gotta love 'em!!!
If you don't love them, they'll drive you crazy. My cats have a tendency to take over beds too. If I let Shadow into my room before I am ready to climb into bed, she will settle herself right in the middle of the bed, which doesn't give me much room. I think Mystery thinks my parent's bed is her bed. It seems that there quite often is "one spot" that two or more cats want. Shad and Blitz were fighting over the heat vent in the hall, so my mom opened another one so Blitz could have her own. Then Shadow started wanting that one. Sometime we mediate the fights and chase Blitz away from the hall heat vent and Shadow away from the other one. Occasionally, I find Mystery in front of Shadow's heat vent.
Here's another "compromise."
FK - I especially like the second picture.

You did. I don't have facebook at all and I could view it. They are so cute! I bet your mom was nice and warm - that is if she could even feel her legs with all of that weight.

For those of you who have been following the prayer request forum, you'll know that I now have a new pet, Daisy the hamster. Last Thursday, my mom bought her for a class pet for her toddelers. Well Friday the poor thing disapears. My mom has since bought a new hamster for her class, and she found Daisy today in the trash can! Now that my mom has a new hamster for her class we get to keep Daisy as a pet.
Already she's proven to be quite the climber, and after a rough start like that I'm sure she'll be happy in her new home. Patchy has been relatively accepting of her so far. I post more pictures when I get a camera and take some.
I'm glad though that Patch will have some company, when I go to college.

I'm glad you found the hamster, and that Patchy is accepting her (more or less at least) We can't have fury animals because of my sisters allergy, that's why we have turtles and Robin (our bird). I'm trying to get my mom to let me have a spider but she isn't to keen on it. I guess we'll see how it goes

LOL!!!! We have lots of spiders around here--but none of them are pets! (They are pests though!) I love all animals, and, although I've never killed a tarantula, I wouldn't want one as a pet. A snake or lizard would be okay. Just not spiders. And anything venomous around here doesn't survive long.
Love God, love people
The rest of my family seem to agree with you ramagut, my younger sister told me that should I get a spider she would move out of the room, my youngest sister is the only one who agrees with me that it would be nice to have a tarantula (just as long as assume full responsibility of course ). I did suggest that we get a snake if nobody wants a spider, but still mom won't give in (she is not to fond of creeping/crawling creatures 'sigh')
Yesterday we had already turned out the lights to go to sleep when De_De remember that we forgot to put Robby back in his cage. He was sitting on the curtin rod angrily muttering to himself. I'm guessing he was saying 'oh my irresponsible masters, here it is eleven at night and they haven't put me back in my cage and given me dinner' he was so upset at us that he refused to eat once we put him back and only sat by his mirror looking at us out of the corner of his eye. Then today we forgot to let him out for his daliy get out, oh boy he was so mad, he was like 'yesterday you forget to put me back in and today you forgot to take me out' I did let him out once I remebered (with a little help from his part, he) but it was around five in the afternoon, when the usual time is around one. Now that Alan is gone, Robin has our full attention and has become rather demanding. (correct that, he has become very demanding)

So I had an "incident" involving my poor Fiona last week. Though really she can't be blamed for it as it was only partially her fault.
I took her to the vet to pick up her monthly heartworm medication and also get her weighed.
I had her leash in my left hand and went to open the door with my right hand. As I did, two things happened. First, the door snagged the edge of the floor mat and flipped it over my foot. Second, there was a guy standing at the counter that Fiona saw and she bolted for him. I think you all can imagine what happened after that.
Needless to say, I was thankful about one thing, as I'm falling to the ground, I'm envisioning being dragged across the floor of the vet's office as Fiona heads over to say hi to the stranger at the counter. Thankfully, she didn't. As soon as I hit the floor, she turns around and is like "What's the matter with you? I'll give you some smooches to make you feel better."
No injuries... aside from my pride... but I did make a few mental notes that we need to work on bursting through the door.
Oh, and for the record, she's up to 75lbs.
1 week old!!!
