I fell in love with ABBA at a very young age. So that, coupled with the singers having accents, made it hard for me to distinguish their lyrics.
Dancing Queen:
I heard: Feel the beat from the jamboree
Real: Feel the beat from the tamborine
I heard: You can dance, you can try
Real: You can dance, you can jive
I heard: See that girl, washed at sea
Real: See that girl, watch that scene
I heard: Ticket the dancing queen (I actually still sang it that way up until today because I never bothered to look up the lyrics even though I knew it was wrong)
Real: Diggin' the dancing queen
I heard: Anybody could be that girl
Real: Anybody could be that guy
I heard: *mumbling* turn and hold
Real: You're a tease and you turn them on
That's a lot! And there's tons more from other ABBA songs. I'll have to do some more later.
EDIT:
And here's what I got I from "The Winner Takes It All:
I heard: Edwina takes it all (I don't know why I thought this especially considering the song title is "The Winner Takes It All")
Real: The winner takes it all
I heard: The gods may frown with ice
Real: The gods may throw the dice
I heard: The judges will decide, their hearts as cold as ice
Real: The judges will decide, the likes of me abide
"Voulez Vous"
I heard: Being everywhere/Leaves our next vacation hanging in the air
Real: People everywhere/A sense of expectation hanging in the air
I heard: Master of the sea
Real: Masters of the scene
Here's one from 'On My Own'
Real: 'The trees are bare and everywhere the streets are full of strangers.'
What I heard: 'The streets are bare and everywhere the trees are full of strangers.'
I guess strangers like sitting in the trees.
Misheard lyrics make me hysterical half the time.
Here's a Michael Card:
Real: 'Know you in the now.'
What I heard: 'Know you're like a cow.' I know there are more, if I remember them, I'll post them.
