Adelaide, a city in Australia
There, shining in the sunrise, larger than they had seen him before, shaking his mane (for it had apparently grown again) stood Aslan himself.

And a suburb of Melbourne as well! (The colonial Brits often weren't very imaginative when it came to choosing place names.)

I rather expected that New Zealand might have its very own Richmond. I've learned that Richmond is the capital of Virginia, in USA, which probably dates back to the American Revolution, & maybe Canada could also rustle up one or two towns called Richmond.
Yes, Melbourne's Richmond Tigers are a Melbourne AFL club & I had a great-aunt who was born there . In NSW, Richmond, along with Windsor, Castlereagh, Wilberforce & Pitt Town, was one of the 5 towns founded by Governor Lachlan Macquarie, in 1810. Richmond, on the Hawkesbury River, outside Sydney, has been suffering much flooding recently, today being the third such major rainfall episode in six weeks, since February.
In 1810, the naming of those 5 towns so mundanely, made sense when William Pitt was revered as UK's Prime Minister, when Lord (or Viscount) Castlereagh was the War Minister when Britain was fighting Napoleon & a close friend of Lachlan Macquarie, & when Wilberforce, the great anti-slavery leader, was already a known reformer in the British Parliament.
Lostwithiel, a town in Cornwall, south-west Britain. (The name means "tail end of the woods" in the Cornish language.)
