[@waggawerewolf27 Can one get there through a wardrobe?]
It depends how 'Everage' the clothes in the wardrobe are. But I think you might have to put up with less than "Everage" accommodation at Moonee Ponds, though there is a rather nice Sofitel near Dame Edna Place, in the heart of "Naarm" or is it "Narrm"?

I saw a couple of references to Naarm (I think that's the accepted spelling) when I was last in Melbourne earlier this year, but it seems it's only recently come into public use, though I assume it's a name that actually goes back centuries. I haven't been able to find out any official information about it online, though — it'd be interesting to know more. It's presumably from either the Woiwurong or Bunurong language (the two closely related Aboriginal groups that are the First Nations / traditional custodians of the Melbourne area and surrounds; Bunurong country stretches down the coast as far as Inverloch, where I grew up), but I haven't been able to find that out for sure either!
(As for the "Everage" accommodation, I think I'll stick to staying with family and friends when I'm down there, thanks. )

Townsville, Australia. This city has a World War Two history as an American military base, & is virtually the capital of North Queensland, plus the home of James Cook University.

My entry was tongue-in-cheek, of course. Though I wanted to mention Gladioli as well. There was a discussion of renaming places, a news item that we heard on the radio last week. Please don't be surprised, if anyone cares to visit Townsville, in particular, to hear that it is now called something else, or so we were told. I think it might be called Cootharinga or is it Coodaringa, instead? People allegedly were getting upset at changes of names like that, especially when they suddenly had to catch a plane from Cootharinga, (or whatever Townsville was called) to Meeanjin (or Brisbane to the rest of the world). And when Gadigal is the new name for an underground Metro station in Pitt Street, Sydney, I learned that Naarm was Melbourne's new name. In 2021 Fraser Island became K'gari (meaning paradise), whilst the dingoes (Aboriginal word) that live on it are called Wongari, which seems to be pushing things a bit too far. Thank goodness that Canberra is already an Aboriginal name.
Moderator Note: Please take discussion of places, names, etc. to other threads. Thank you!
