You can read at the rate of approximately two encyclopedias a half-hour! However, this speed of assimilation means that you are constantly looking for more input (and I'm not sure how you process contradictory information). Also, it is very difficult to settle down for a nice afternoon with a novel and your favorite beverage.

People do stop applying for the same jobs that you're applying for. In fact they've all stopped trying to get a job and unemployment rates skyrocket. In addition, you get a job, but it's doing the thing you like the least, your new boss always yells at you, the copier jams, your co-workers keep stealing your staples and the back of your chair breaks sending you hurtling backwards into the water cooler. Dare I mention the fact that you are hired at minimum wage right before the wage freeze?

Unfortunately, no matter what you do, you can't get time to start up again. You slowly age in a surreal world where pigeons are trapped in mid flight and people have their mouths open wide open to finish some sentence. Time starts up again when you've aged and gone completely insane, convincing those closest to you that it's not you.

I wish a technology would be invented that would let us see each other's dreams.

Such technology is invented, a special machine is made that allows you to see what another person is dreaming, the downside is there is only one such machine, and the whole world goes into chaos as everyone strives to steal the machine for himself
