Skara Brae, Orkneys, Scotland

This ancient Orcadian settlement was uncovered by a farmer. It dates back to well before the 586 BC destruction of Jerusalem at the hands of Nebuchadnezzar.

Not to be confused with Avondale (long A sound in first syllable), a suburb in Auckland, NZ's largest city!
