Hadrian's Wall, England

Hadrian's Wall, which can be very easy to miss, was built by the Emperor Hadrian about 122 AD. Although bits of it remain along its length from Solway Firth to Wallsend, some parts have been demolished, the stone used for various other things. This part of the Wall was at Corbridge where there are remains of a Roman fort nearby.

Jedda's Rock, Northern Territory, Australia

This landmark in Northern Territory's Katherine Gorge was named after the female lead in Charles Chauvel's 1955 film, Jedda, the last one he made, which featured for the first time, Aboriginal actors, in what was the first Australian movie made in colour.

The story of Jedda is one about an Aboriginal child, reared to replace the dead son of the Squatter's Wife, who wants to rear her as a white person. Jedda has been kept from knowing much about the intricate laws of her heritage, thus making Jedda's tragedy at the hands of the outlaw, Marbuk, unavoidable.

Rabbit Proof Fence, Western Australia.

The sign is self-explanatory. There was an emu farm right beside the sign. How many emus do you see in both pictures? :D

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia

I understand UlaanBaatar is currently a nice balmy -33 degrees Celsius with a maximum tomorrow of -23 degrees Celsius. As interesting as it might be to visit, it might not be the best place to travel to in December. ;)
