Hey y'all! A little over a year ago I posted a similar post here, announcing the creation and soon beginning of Vayond. I'm back with another announcement, this time the declaration of the beginning of a role-play called True Justice. This RP has a 1600's flavor, complete with ruthless ship captains and suspenseful duels, but changed to fit with the world of RPing. All names are fashioned out of mine and Sweetlilgurlies minds.

So, without further ado!

Summary:

In a time of chaos and war, the government of Tierra is suspicious of everyone, even those within her own borders. No matter how little evidence, no matter how loyal one seems, no one is safe. Belief is shattered and loyalties are torn against a backdrop of romance and betrayal. Can love stay strong, even when justice tears people apart?

Join us on a suspenseful adventure filled with drama from the courts of Tierra to sea battles in Anglea's waters. Find justice...no matter what the cost.

I had this idea that I'm going to talk to Ithilwen about, but I was thinking: our characters, Daia and Gracilee are very similar in looks (blond hair, blue eyes, thin) and I was thinking about making them long-lost twins, if Ithilwen's okay with that. What do you all think? Also, I'm not sure if this would fit with the story or not, but I was considering having the twins be some sort of royalty, or relation to royalty, that is revealed as the story goes on (but not for a long, long, long while). That might be totally crazy, just wanted to pop that idea out there and see what the authors think.

That's a cool idea, Lucy, but plotting like that is best suited to the PM system. We'd love to give you our ideas about it there! This thread is more for the plotters to tell you that they're doing a time jump, or that such and so is going to attack and that they would like you to react in a certain way, things like that.

I know that in December I posted in here about my starting a new RP. When I had been here three days. Lol. And probably hadn't done a single RP post yet. But now I think I have more the hang of things; I'm definitely still learning, but I know not to God-mod and other basic stuff. So anyway, I want to start a new RP, if anyone's interested. I was thinking of having an RP set in Tolkiens' The Lord of the Rings universe, but not including his characters. Everyone could chose to be an elf, dwarf, hobbit, etc. but could not be Legolas, Gimli or Sam, or any other Tolkien characters. Would that be an acceptable RP?

Hi all! I'm here to talk about a superhero roleplay I've been planning for a while. I originally meant to start it quite a few months down the line, but so many people liked the idea, I decided to go ahead and take the plunge! The roleplay is called Supernova, and it's set in an alternate universe.

The Story

In Year 5,000 on the planet Telluri, a supernova in a neighboring solar system pummels the planet with radiation, and results in the electrical grids being destroyed beyond repair. Without any power, the technology-dependent infrastructure of the nation Azurema crumbles, and the country is plunged into an apocalypse.

But that's not all. When the waves of solar energy hit, the radiation caused about 3% of the population to develop strange. . . abilities.

In some cases, it infused them with a gift related to whatever they were doing at the time the solar ejection struck the planet, and in others, it exponentially enhanced an already existing talent.

But for all intents and purposes, these astonishing abilities were superpowers. . . and these chosen ones were superhumans.

Yet even superhumans are still human. A mix of good and evil. While some of the empowered want to use their abilities to make Azurema great again, to bring about justice and restore the quality of life, there are those with more sinister ideas. Those who see humans as an inferior race in comparison to the superhumans, those who want to abuse their powers to rule others. The clash is inevitable.

In a time when mankind could desperately use the help of the superhumans and their superpowers, the fear of the unknown was stronger. With martial law in effect in the wake of the apocalypse, the Azureman military is sent out to capture and quarantine anyone showing symptoms of "radiation poisoning." Distrustful of the government and what it might do to them, the superhumans went into hiding, concealing their powers from the world in order to keep their freedom.

So they lay low and masqueraded as humans, and were forced to put on a mask, become an alternate identity, when it was time to show the broken world what they could do.

At the end of an era that had depended on traditional power sources to survive, the desperate citizens of Azurema was forced to put their hopes into an alternate form of energy. . . superpower.

And so it began.

The rise of the superheroes. . . and the reign of the supervillains.

The Setting

On the planet Telluri, the country of Azurema is made up of three large, technologically-advanced (until the apocalypse, that is) and populous provinces: Boriel, Erbaine, and Arenico. To the south of nation lies the Gulf of Azure and the burning, lawless Avarician Desert. To the west, the Azure Sea. And to the east, across the towering Palisade Mountain Range that isolates the country from the rest of the continent, awaits the the soaring, untamed wilderness that is the Hinterlands.
