Mortereve all!

The Back to the Future 2-disc CD set arrived this morning and...... it's SNOWING!!!!! :D :D

Hurray! For both of those!

NN95, aw, you're not really a fan of bowling? But it's so much fun! :p
Speaking of snow, we got several inches last night. The ground is all covered now...

No, I'm not. Lol, it's kinda funny because we've been talking about bowling all this time and I really don't like it. ;))
Oh, cool! We keep getting dustings here and there. The most we ever had at one time so far this winter was 8 inches. Hopefully we'll get a really big snowstorm soon.

Man, why is the Square moving so slowly?! I have hardly anything to catch up on... :|

Good mortereve all!

It is cold here!! When I got up this morning it was 0 degrees with a wind chill of -19! :-o ;)) Yeah, I'm staying inside today. ;))

Djaq, the new Moddess who is flaunting her new status around ;) . Ditto! ;))

Flaunting my status? ;)) :P
Yep. (in response to your ditto ;)) )

Well, I think we are going to be getting snow tomorrow, so hopefully that will make up for not having a white Christmas. :D

Yay!! I'm so glad to hear that you did get snow! :D

CONGRATS on becoming a Mod!!!! :D

Thank you! :D

Wow, Djaq is a mod now! Congrats!

Thank you. :D

Yeah, I was wondered where you'd gone off to. Good to see you back. :)

Yep, life just got in the way. ;))

Oh, I see. So you stopped working on your post smack in the middle of responding to my post? Was it just so boring that you had to take a break before reading any more? :P

*sigh* Of all of the places to stop, it just had to be your post, didn't it? Sorry! :P I should have known that you would get offended. ( Kidding. ;) ) No, your post wasn't boring at all. :P I think that it was actually something modding related that distracted me at that time. :(

Oh, that's great! :D And, you're very welcome, I had a great time enjoying our snow for ya. :P

Yep! It's actually snowing again now! :D I'm sure you did. :P

Hmm, PB is a good idea. I'd have to watch it again for a refresher, though. Other than that, I don't think there are any other movies that we both know well. (Well, ok, maybe The Incredibles... :P ;)) ). But, seriously, I don't care what we do next. It's up to you. :P

We are so indecisive! :P ;)) Okay, then we could just stick with NT 1 and 2? :) We both know those pretty well. :)

Yeah. ;))
"Hope these fit! We had to guess your sizes." NT2. ;))
Not really, because we have all sorts of new smilies!

That quote fit great! :))
"You don't think it makes my neck look too thick?" Dave.
True, but it's sad that the old smilies look weird to me.

Finally people are commenting on this! I said what it would be and then several days went by and no one said anything, and then I get like three people all commenting on it in one day. Anyway... I glad had a laugh over it. ;)) Don't get me wrong, I'm excited any time we do a play. But... Little Women? :| ;))
Aha, you haven't been reading everything I post! I already said whom I'll be playing. :P I have the small role of John Brooke.

I read it soon after you posted it, but I didn't have a chance to post until a couple days ago. ;)) I can understand why you aren't thrilled with it. ;))
Oh, drat. I'm sorry that I missed that. ;)) Can you cut me some slack since I had been gone for two weeks? :P
I had the opportunity to go to a play (well, it was a musical) on Tuesday night and it was really great! :D It was "Little House on the Prairie". It was very well done and the cast was brilliant! It made me want to be in a play more than ever. ;))

Djaq, that's great that you've been able to see your new niece and nephew in the past couple weeks. :D Are the babies and your sister doing well?

Mmm hmm. :D Yes, they are all doing well!

And a huge congrats on becoming a mod!!! :D That's totally cool!

Thank you! :D

You're right, Aiden, the Square is definitely moving too slow. :(

Good Mortereve all! :) I hope everyone has been having a pleasant New Year- I have been so far. :) There's one thing that happened earlier this week that alas I can't go into further details, but would you all be willing to pray that we make the right choice- and more importantly, the one God wants us to make even if it may seem a little bit, well, scary, on it? Thanks ever so much! :) And then today my Mom phoned the bookstore we go to to see if they still had a book that I saw last time we were in there (and was now kicking myself for not buying it... >_>) and it turns out the store does, so they're going to set it aside for us next time we go in. :D I'm extremely happy about that because it's one that's rather rare and you don't exactly see it in every store... :) Anyways! :) So! Now for some catchup!

First of all, I'll post a little freak-out message...

Ryan Seacrest (the host of American Idol) somehow found my Fireflies cover, and posted it (with a few others) on his website!!!!!!!!!!
http://www.ryanseacrest.com/blog/whats- ... fireflies/
;)) I was pretty excited when I found it, to say the least.

Hurray! :) That is, while somewhat old news I guess, great news indeed! :)

I got The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas (my dad surprised me with that one :D)

Yay! :) I do hope you enjoy The Count of Monte Cristo- I read it this past summer and really enjoyed it!

Quite well, thank you. :)
Yes, I saw Ever After with my mom and she's calling it one of her favorites. ;)) Thanks for recommending it to me! By the way, have I told you I love your avatar? :D
How is 2010 going for you so far? :)

Ah good! :) I'm glad your Mom enjoyed it too! ;) It is a nice story, and I like their take on the Cinderella story and such. :) Twas nice, although it's not one of my favourite-favourites. It will probably have to grow on me more for that. :)

Oh thank you! :) My avatar was made by the lovely Flambeau, she did such a fine job on it, I think. :)

My 2010 is going well so far, I think! :) Lots of promise I think! :) And for you?

Thanks so much, Fanny! The update on how she's doing is above. ^ You have no idea how much your compassion and prayers are treasured by me.

Aww, thanks! You're very kind! I'm glad your Mom is feeling much better- it doesn't sound like she had a, er, nice illness at all. Okay, bad word. There's no nice illness, but what I mean was that it sounds like your Mom had something that was extra-not nice....

*chuckles* I share your feelings of the new year! I'm glad you're so excited for it. ;)) (Aw, I'll dance with you if you want...except I don't know how, either. So we'd better not. ;) ) I've been doing splendid, thanks! I've been learning more crocheting, and I've also been reading more Jane Austen which I've been enjoying a whole lot. ^.^

Hurray! :D Not that you can't dance either, of course, maybe we ought to take some basic dancing lessons on the sly, or something. ;) I'm glad you've been splendid too, fantastic! :) Which Jane Austen have you been reading? :) And how is learning to crochet going?

Well...we started school again yesterday. All I can say is...it wasn't fun. :p Now that the holidays are over, it's gonna take a while to get back into the swing of things.

Aww! :( That's too bad! Have you gotten back into the swing of things yet or no?

I hope you enjoy The City of Ember! :) It's a pretty good film I think. :)

Well, I suppose it's because you're more familiar with music in general? You can probably already sight read and know which notes are which on the paper at least. ;))

Hmmm, that makes sense, I guess. I must admit I'm not a musician at all. I was learning the piano from my older brother, but we quit that a few years ago because we just really weren't interested. Of course, sometimes when I see someone playing really well I wish I could too, it's just the actual getting to that stage that I don't relish. ;)

Yep, I'm back "in school" again for the second day. What about you? Christmas break was nice--this year mom gave us the longest one we'd ever had! :p That I can remember. ;)) Speaking of school... It's 10:10 AM and I haven't started yet. Ugh. Bad girl. (That was speaking to myself, not you.) ;)

*laughs* ;)) Hurray for long breaks! ;) We don't start again until this coming Monday, I think it is. :)

I doubt they knew there wouldn't be any more episodes. And even if they did, they didn't necessarily write a closing episode. I've seen the last episode of a lot of shows and none of them indicate that it's the end. I doubt it'll be any different with Get Smart. Ah, that sounds neat! I, too, wonder if that sequel sort of thing is any good.

That's true, I didn't think of that before. And too they probably didn't film the episodes in the order that they would be put out, so what could be the last episode we the audience would see might have been one they filmed earlier on...

We started Season 4 last night- have you started it yet?

We've been watching shows like Perry Mason... that's one of my favorites.

Ah, okay! :) *must admit she's only heard a very little about that particular show* Is it a show from the 50s/60s?

I hope that the play you're in goes well and such! :)

Thank you so much for your prayers!

You're welcome dear!

They are all doing well, at the last report I heard. :D I haven't seen them in a few days, but I hope I can see them again soon. :)

I hope they're well! :) And how are things with you? :) Congarats on becoming a Mod, I'm sure you'll do fabulous! :)

@ Fanny. Hmm, I see where you're coming from on this.... For me it would be so easy to just say "All content issues are bad!", which they are (to a degree), but then that would cut out a ton of great movies. I really think it's one of the few times you can say "to each their own" and it actually works/fits. I personally think when it comes to content issues in movies that it depends on what the individual person can and can not handle.

For instance: I can't handle heavy language, nudity/"racy" scenes or demented humans killing humans (TDK is a good example of this). On the other hand, mild language and violence (none gory that is) don't affect me. So, films like Indiana Jones, Wind and the Lion, Batman Begins, etc. I'm fine with, though I'm sure there are people that couldn't handle those films or would have problems with other aspects of the movies.

So, I really think it depends on what the individual can handle or not. Of course, there are some films that are pretty obvious in the fact that they are not good (most Horror films, most R-rated films)

*gets off soap box*

*ponders* Hmmm....yes, what you say makes sense! I agree there are some movies that are obviously bad and should be avoided, but like you say if one tried to avoid every single little thing then I think that would rule out almost any movie (unfortunately in a way, because that means that most movies now a days have at least something in them). And just because one sometimes watches a film with language/other easily skippable scenes it doesn't mean they aren't being careful. Yes....thanks for your thoughts on the matter! :) I appreciate them as this subject has been one that I've thought about quite a bit over the years but never actually come to any conclusions...

Well, I should be off. :) Cheers all! *waves to everyone*

Hello all! *Waves*

*raises Ditto's paw up in a wave back to Winty* Aw, thank you! :)

You're welcome! :)

We have a skating rink rather close to us, but we rarely go anymore. :(

That's too bad. You really should, though, because rinks that don't get used much get closed down and then you'll be sad, because you wouldn't have anywhere to skate if you wanted to. Besides, skating is fun and really good exercise. :)

Hah! My name is floating around everywhere, I see. ;)) ;)
Thank you! :D

lol, sorry 'bout that. I wouldn't have used it but I saw it and thought it was neat (I know someone named Hannah, who I see a lot). ;) :)

*Dumps water on Winter* There that should do it ;))

Aaah! It's really cold here right now! *shivers* It's as cold here as in the artic!

I,m not really sure ;)) lol For sure not insulted :D

Oh, ok. lol, I guess I won't feel insulted, then. :)

@ Winter. Thank you, we thought it was a good idea as well. Speaking of miss Ruby, do tell her we said "hello" the next time you see her and that she has been missed in the Square. :)

I will try to tell her that. I've seen her three times since reading that and I keep forgetting. By the time I get around to it, she'll probably have posted. *grins sheepishly* So, how have you and Vern been lately?

Indeed, indeed!
(Wow, I never thought you'd actually try to be unpredictable; that really caught me off-guard. I guess you succeeded. [/lame] ;)) )

Yup.
(Wow, aiden you apparently don't know me very well, I always try to be unpredictable and therefore wind up being very predictable.)

Alrighty, it's shipped! Now, wanna talk to Santa about getting me something better?
About the North Pole... it looks like I won't be going there in that sleigh. ;))

Ok, thanks! I'll see if I can, but I'm not really on the Nice List, right now. ;)
Definetly not, unless of course you like smashed up things and/or fixing stuff. :)

Winter, hehe yeah, closer to 350-something days till Christmas now. ;)) I trust you had a good Christmas and New Year? :D I'm glad to see you back!

I did, indeed. Did you have a good Christmas and New Year?

Wow, that was a short post...

See y'all!

*enters square singing "Always" by Switchfoot*

Brief Explanatory Note: [note on brief explanatory note: just by looking at the title, you can tell that this note is not going to be brief ;)] My sister and I recently just bought the newest Relient K, Switchfoot, Remedy Drive, Sidewalk Prophet, Phil Whickam, and Seabird albums. So Ruby is very, very happy and will most likely be singing a lot of these songs hence forth.

Well, first, I'll begin with yet another apology...I've been away too long. *looks shamefully to the ground* It seems that all my letters, emails, and such are beginning with an apology. *sigh* But such is life.

Speaking of life, mine is going rather well. Things have kind of been turned upside down, but it's still going well. By "upside down" I mean that Irish Dance has stopped, one of my favorite dearly beloved activities. *sniff* I'm really going to miss my class, but like my parents pointed out. There are other things that I need to focus on in my life right now. Things like, my future, for instance. My attitude has always been "Future? Oh right! My future!" Haha. Yeah, so I'm giving up dance to spend more time focusing on music. I'm taking piano lessons, starting viola lessons (which shouldn't be too hard since I've taken violin), and my mom is also starting me on voice lessons.

Djaq,How have you been doing? I wouldn't be surprised if you've grown a long white beard since I last was on here. Oh! I heard that you and flambeau became moderators! Yay! :)

ForeverFan, I'm recognizing the lyrics on your signature but I can't place them with an artist/author, but I'm pretty sure I've heard them before! It's driving me crazy...where is that quote from?

Benjamin! How has life been going for you? Good to see you're still alive and well, I presume? ;)

malkah, how are you? I hope everything's been going well.

Narnia Girl! *HUGS* Good to see you on the square!! :D How have you been?

Ah! It's good to be back on the square again! I am so, so behind and I'll try and keep up from here on...

Hmm...Winty and I need to finish the sequel to that joint-post...we've been in Santa's dungeon for a reeaaally long time. ;) :P

*waves to Aiden, pogginfan, leafy, Lady L, Queen Susan, Kat, and anyone else on the square :)*

I'm afraid that's all I have time for! Moon's turn on the computer...

God bless, everyone!

*dashes into the Square, panting and out of breath* Well, this evening we're going to the Michael English concert! I can hardly wait! *squeals* :p I'm so glad our first week of school is over. Everything ended up going pretty well. I also spent some money back at the Christian bookstore yesterday...I bought Renegade by Ted Dekker (so far it is completely awesome!!). On to ketchup, now, though...

NN95, lol, we can stop talking about bowling now if you don't like it. :p
We've had several dustings of snow, too, though the most we've had this winter wwas about 22 inches - back about a week before Christmas. Hopefully you'll get some more too! :D

*waves back to Benjamin* Hi! I'm doing fairly well, thanks! How about you? :) Have you read the new Ranger's Apprentice book yet?

Glad to hear the babies and their mother are doing well, Djaq. :D
What have you been up to lately? :)

FF, yeah, I have. :) School went much better these past couple days, I think. Though I wish that it was spring break now... ;))
I watched most of City of Ember last night, there's still about a half hour left, though. I've really enjoyed it so far! They're keeping it fairly close to the book, so I'm pleased about that.

Winter, yes, I had a wonderful time during the holidays. :) I love being around my family and friends - and, of course, the fact that there's no school during holidays. :p ;))

Ruby! :D *hugs back* It's great to see you back again! I've been doing great! How are you?

Good afternoon all you Narnian newbies, regulars, nuts, junkies, gurus, fanatics, zealots, and masters! Welcome to another epic episode of the Ruby-Winter hour of utter insanity!

*announcer pauses and waits*

Hmm...they were supposed to be there...I'll go see what happened... *announcer leaves stage muttering*

*Giant TV falls from the sky and lands in the square. A message flashes across the screen: This is Live! A scene appears of our two beloved heroines scrubbing the floor of a giant toy workshop.* *A great cheer rises from the square*

Random N-Webber: "Guys, guys! Pretend to be sad!!!!"

Everyone else: "Oh, right. Sorry!" *Miserable wailing commenses*

Oh, some time next,er, later this year....Maybe when Santa distributes his "gifts" to all the nice little idio-er, kids who believe in him." *looks around* "Do you see anything we can swipe? I promised Aiden I'd exchange this *waves pink diary* for something better. A bow and arrow, maybe?"

/:) (Santa): Ahem. What were you saying about escaping?

We're done scrubbing the floor here. And we've finished cleaning the kitchen, and dusting the workshop, and sweeping out the stables, and polishing your sleigh. Can we PLEASE go now? *blinks innocently*

*nods head* Yes sir!

No! Not after you flattened my sleigh, and I had to deliver my presents on a tricycle! *glares* You girls can hitch-hike home.

Tough.

Ten Minutes Later...
Ruby and Winter are sitting on a pile of broken toys by the side of the road, next to a payphone.

*Kneels and picks up a piece* *Reads it aloud* Phone a Friend. *Stares* Hey I got an idea! *Runs over to phone and inserts piece* Hey, listen, whoever's in the square right now, could you come pick us up....?

*Image fades out and Announcer appears*

*If you're interested in saving our heroines just reply to this post as soon as possible. And remember, if you're the fourth to reply you win a *cough* grand prize, an appearance in the next episode.

And there you have it, folks! Don't forget to reply and join us next time for your hour of utter insanity with Ruby and Winter!

Good evening!

To be completed sometime in the far future...

A small figure hops hesitantly across the silent cobblestones of Ditto Town Square, underneath a brilliantly frosty night sky studded with a thousand stars. He leaps to the top of the low wall surrounding the Town Square Fountain and sits upright on his hindmost legs, rubbing his middle legs together for warmth as he prepares to make music with his front legs. Ever so softly, he draws his bow and the cobbles echo to the old, sweet sound of the violin, just a single sibilant note with the touch of the melancholy of summers past. Gradually he warms to his work and the notes pour forth in a torrent, passionate and moody as befits the harsh, clear night. He stops, and the echoes die away, and the tiny solitary figure disappears once more into the shadows of the alleys.

The Michael English concert was SO awesome!!! We got there about an hour early so we'd get good seats. It was so awesome once the concert started. Michael sang several songs, including "Mary Did You Know?", and then he talked about his wife and his little girl, Bella. He also told everyone that the Gaither Vocal Band was working on recording a new album which will come out soon! I can't wait for it!

The rest of his songs were so awesome. Michael has an amazing voice. He sang "In Christ Alone," one of my favorite songs by him. Once the concert was over, he was signing his books and CDs for people. We bought one of his CDs and his book, The Prodigal Comes Home, and he signed the book for me. :D I also got my picture taken with him!!! I was so excited! I had a fantastic time.

Okay, enough of my rambling...I'll do a quick ketchup, though the Square has been a bit slow again lately.

*waves back to Libby* How are you doing?

Ruby and Winter: LOL, you guys always crack me up! That was so funny!

Benjamin, yup, Erak's Ransom came out back on the 5th. :D I haven't read it yet though...
