I am so enjoying my Christmas break! I've been lurking about here and am hoping to get some posts in here throughout my vacation.

My semester grades were excellent and better then I had anticipated. Swim team is going well. I've been doing pretty well. Ice cream cakes were half off at DQ last night and I was thus able to surprise my family with an impromptu celebration.

On the other hand, I would like to ask for a couple of prayers. My mother's brother is in the hospital awaiting a quadruple bypass tomorrow. He's not quite 50. We are incredibly grateful that this was caught before he suffered a heart attack, but it's still a difficult time. Also, he lives in the East, which is a fair drive away from us and thus hard on Mom.

Additionally, my grandmother was diagnosed with skin cancer at the beginning of this month and had surgery to remove the cancerous cells (I guess, it wasn't a tumor) last week. We're still awaiting lab results about the lymph nodes.

*sigh* This has been a really stressful month with the above and several other personal things going on. I'm looking forward to celebrating Christ's birth and remembering that we one day will not have to deal with illnesses and death.

Anyways, I'll be lurking throughout the rest of the night.

I rather like the feel of a long bow myself. Of course, any sort of bow will be fine.... well, any sort besides those horrid kinds that the Orcs carry in LotR...

@ PogginFan. Thanks! It's shorter than the lists I would make when I was younger. Had a lot more things that caught my interest years ago.... Vern hasn't asked for much this year. Mostly just cooked meats from the kitchen with Lady A's special blend of spices.

It is. A constant pool of water on the drive-way from the yard to the street. The latest forecasts say we'll be getting rain, but no snow. *sigh*

@ LL. I'll be praying for your family as they go through this time. My grandmother is going to be having knee surgery in the next month or so, so we'll be going through some stuff ourselves.

*enters the Square with a happy sigh* I can't believe that Christmas Eve is tomorrow. Yesterday we had my best friend over for the day, and we did each other's hair and painted our nails, then we exchanged presents. It was nice having her over. And I finally finished wrapping Christmas presents last night, which I am very thankful for.

Princess, last year we got a few snow flurries about a week before Thanksgiving, but it didn't actually stick to the ground. That's nice that you ended up getting a little bit of snow last Christmas, though.
Oh, that's true, wet snow does soak your snowsuit, which is uncomfortable. Still better than dry snow, though.

*checks imdb* NN95, it says National Treasure 3 is supposed to come out in 2011. So, still another year or so... *sighs*

*gasps* Djaq, your sister had her babies? That's wonderful! Congratulations!! Aw, the pics you posted are really sweet! I'm so happy for you.

Tasty bits of sweet goodness keep coming into the fire station. There is this spiral-cut smoked ham *mouth waters* that is still rather satisfying even though its been in the fridge for a couple of days.

Mortereve all! 'Tis now only two days 'til Christmas, and tomorrow is Christmas Eve! Can't believe how fast the Christmas season has snuck (sneaked?) up on me. I still have to go out with my brother to buy some late minute presents...

'Daww, Djaq, your nephew and neice are so adorable! Those are some of the cutest newborns I have every seen (most newborns are pretty red, wrinkled, and ugly...). I love them in the stockings. I just want to pick them up and kiss them.

And I also lost the link to the screencap you posted on chat. So, if you'll just kindly send me your story--no, actually, why don't you clean up as much as you can of it. that way I don't have to remind you of grammar rule that you already know, but just were to busy writing to use them (I do that a lot). So just read through it and fix as many things as you can. And then sent it in its entirity (so I can get a feel of how the story's progressing), and then I'll at least have a reminder in my inbox. How's that sound?

Oh that's okay, I can totally understand ( with Christmas and Everything) I will try to get the first paged edited, I doubt that I will have the time to do all the pages right now. Also it is very true my Grammar is very bad and even after I edit it, it will probably not be very good That's why I'm trying to get as much help and correction and help as I may . Is there a place where I can upload my page so that you can read without having to look at a picture?
Right now i need to go take a shower I just got done working for my neighbor, so I will not be able to get my work to you very soon, but I will for sure be "trying" to edit it when I get the chance. Thanks again for your help!

Oh, dear... I've put off catching up again. I need to get out of this habit!
I hope everyone is doing well... we just got back from Atlanta a couple days ago and I had a wonderful time visiting my friend from narniaweb and his family. They are such wonderful people! I miss all of them so much! While we were there I went ice skating for the first time (ouch! )... hehe... and did lots of other fun stuff. So I'm kind of sad now that it's all over. Today I had my 16th birthday party with just a few friends and we decorated Christmas cookies. Then tomorrow is my actual 16th birthday. ^_^ And then Christmas...and then the year is over! Gosh, this year flew by so fast.
Hopefully I will be much much better about catching up now that I'm 1) in town and 2) on break!
