NG, I hate to scare you, but it seems like every year Christmas comes faster and faster... *is mildly worried by this* I suppose I could always start doing all my Christmas shopping and present wrapping in July or something.
I've been trying to get the City of Ember movie at the library for the past two months, but every time I go there, it's checked out. *sighs*
Does your library allow you to reserve stuff? That way, if there's one else waiting, they'll be sure to hold it for you.
stardf, I believe Momo is a cat. He just arrived in a hot air balloon. Though, talking balloons is an interesting idea...
I just keep waiting for Persuasion and Pirates or Mansfield Park and Monsters to hit the bookshelves...
Uh... I'm pretty sure the last one actually exists. Because I ran across a book review for it a few days ago. *checks* Ah. Mansfield Park and Mummies.
sweeet, that is a good idea about the summary. And, my favourite apple is HoneyCrisp.
We have hands that fashion and heads that know,
But our hearts we lost - how long ago! -- G. K. Chesterton
What a lovely coincidence! My favorite kind of apple is Honey Crisp as well! I like it because they're sweet but also tangy. My other favorite kind of apple is Empire. Their flesh is just so pretty and white. They make the prettiest colored apple-sauce you can imagine.
I've been thinking about what I want to do for college, and where I want to go. I've been pretty sure for awhile now that I want to go to film school and major in screenwriting (Though I don't know exactly where ), but recently I have been getting into my music alot more and I'm wondering if that's just going to disappear entirely when I go to college.
I'm a classically trained piano student, and I've been taking lessons for nine years. That's alot of time; more than half of my life! My teacher keeps encouraging me to look for a school where I can minor in music, but as I want to pursue film and I've never really heard of a film school with music majors, I don't know how its gonna pan out. Hmmm.
What is this about Mansfield Park and Mummies? Sounds rather strange, n'est pas?

*waves to Liberty* Hey! How have you been?
Mel: Yes, that was the one. Well... I mostly kept comparing it to the 2005 version while watching. I'm not entirely sure which I like better, actually. The 1995 one obviously included much more of the story and was easier to follow (because it had more time to explain). I had an easier time seeing why Lizzie disliked Mr. Darcy, and thought Colin Firth did well at being "proud and arrogant". I liked the Lizzie in this one very much as well, but definitely liked Jane better in the 2005 version. She seemed more natural somehow and--more how I had imagined her--in the 2005 movie.
*has never had eggnog*
Oh yes, Narnia Girl. It will be a nice Christmas present.
Thanks, Ben. Well, I'm glad to hear that you liked it! It is amazing what He went through for us.
I have six siblings. My two younger sisters had accounts on the old NW, but they hardly ever came on.
Wow. I've always wondered what it would be like to have a house-full of siblings. Wouldn't it be rather... hectic? (But fun at the same time?)
Could it have been the 1995 with Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle?
Yeahh.... I was too lazy to look up what the exact date was that it came out.
*waves to Sweeetlilgurlie* Hello, there! Yay for getting out of school yesterday! I'll be done on Tuesday afternoon.
What is Your Favorite Kind of Apple?
I'd have to say Honey Crisp. They are so crisp and sweet, with a tangy taste to them at the same time. Mmm....
Fujis can be quite good as well.
stardf, I believe Momo is a cat. He just arrived in a hot air balloon. Though, talking balloons is an interesting idea...

What is Your Favorite Kind of Apple?
Probably one that's peeled, sliced, sprinkled with sugar and cinamon, poured into a crust, and baked in the oven--yes, apple pie. Yum!
Uh... I'm pretty sure the last one actually exists. Because I ran across a book review for it a few days ago. *checks* Ah. Mansfield Park and Mummies.

Let me go see if any more muffins are left. Ah yes, here's one, but it's cold from being in the fridge. Would you still like it?

Wow. I've always wondered what it would be like to have a house-full of siblings. Wouldn't it be rather... hectic? (But fun at the same time?)
Yeah, it is hectic and fun at the same time, or I should say was, for now my two older brothers have moved out and my older sister is away working and taking classes most of the day. So our family has kinda shrunk this past year. But during the holidays it's going to be as fun as ever!

Miss Rosa: I've been doing well, thank you!!
How exciting that you get your braces off!!! I'll probably get some of those... eventually... hm.
Anything else new with you that I missed?
Bella: Oh, I didn't hear about your mom until just now! What exactly happened? I guess that's what comes with skimming. Anyway, I'll pray for her!
stardf: I am a big Skillet fan as well, though maybe not so much as Liberty... I would recommend Comatose as an album. Awake would probably be the second recommendation.
sweeet: "Jazz" is my favorite type of apple. And dittoing stardf--peanut butter is awesome with them!

Oh, and I could tell YOU about the something else about something else that I need to figure out.(You-know-what already) But I can't say it--out loud...
Aha, I see.
Yes, let us keep this between ourselves (and select others).
*waves to Horse_Lover*
That's alright, it's better than completely misspelling my name.
Of those two alternate names... I'm glad you stuck with "Djaq".Of course, there are several female names you could have stuck before Scarlett that would have worked.
![]()
Yeah. I really like your name, btw.
It's neat!
I wouldn't want to be called "Wilma" and "Will" doesn't really fit me, so I'm glad I went with "Djaq" too. Yes, that's true.
The temp keeps jumping between the 30's and 50's as of late.
The only things that's remained constant is the rain. *also like cold weather* Hopefully we will get at least a dusting this year. If not, I'm sure will have rain and ice.
![]()
The temperature is doing that here too. We haven't really gotten any rain lately, but it's been cloudy. I hope that you get snow, too! 'Tis always fun!
Ohh, and speaking of which... I get my braces off on Monday!
I'm very excited.
Ooh, yay!! That is very exciting! Right before Christmas, too; it makes a great present.
(Oh, I just saw that Lucy said something similar
)
*sends a bear hug to Rosa*
I will continue to pray for your Mom, Bella!
How're you doing lately? We haven't talked in what's seemed like a while!
![]()
I am doing very good, thank you! Yes, it has been awhile, I believe. How have you been?
(If the colour I'm using is too bright in all respects, please do tell me.
)
After I highlighted it, it wasn't too bad.
*returns the hug* I had that free time. Now I've started another novel, with even less of a plan than the one I did for NaNo.
![]()
Another novel? Impressive! Go, Mel! Go, Mel!
Haha, noveling without a plan can be a very interesting experience.
Outlaws of Sherwood Forest is a book by Robin McKinley. Not surprisingly, it's about Robin Hood. Cecily is Will Scarlett's sister, but you're not supposed to know that.
So, if you ever read it (and it's one of my favourite variations of the tale) forget I said anything.
![]()
Ah, now I understand. Right! Forget you said anything about what?
I'm kind of hoping to go shopping tomorrow and hope that inspiration hits me. Or I can get a T-shirt to paint a cow on. That'd be slightly more present like than stealing one of his old ones and customising it.
Yes, I would recommend buying a new T-shirt for your brother. Is there a story behind the cow?
Djaq, I agree, it's so annoying when the book/movie you want at the library is checked out.
I've been trying to get the City of Ember movie at the library for the past two months, but every time I go there, it's checked out. *sighs*
Yep. Aw, hopefully you can get it soon.
Good, good. But it would be better if I knew something about you I could hold over you. Like your real name...
![]()
Haha! At one point, I think that you knew my real name. Looong ago.
Has she had them yet? Wow, I didn't know she was so close to having them. Is she just past her due date or have they scheduled a C-section?
Oh, that's alright. Thanks. I did have a great birthday.
Yes, we've thought that she would have them any day for the past two (three?) weeks. She is going to have them at home if everything goes well. The midwives (I think there are three of them) were planning on going over at 9 this morning (to induce labor? I didn't get a whole lot of information), but another woman went into labor, so one of the midwives was busy (the one that they needed; she had delivered twins before), then another lady also went into labor later on, so my poor sister still hasn't had them and she is still in pain.
(God has a sense of humor and also has a plan and timing for everything! They will be here in His time.
) Perhaps tomorrow? There is no way of knowing. Was that ramble too long?
Sorry!
Sweeet!!! It's so lovely to see you here!
I know Dee's real name!
Just thought you should know.
Yes, you do. But you don't know my last name (news flash: It really isn't "Montana").
What is Your Favorite Kind of Apple?
Hmm, perhaps Fuji...or Gala...or, what's that other one? Golden Delicious. I think those are my top three (in no particular order).
Any apple with caramel or peanut butter.
![]()
One of my sisters made these apples that were covered in caramel, had some dried cranberries sprinkled on them, and then dipped in chocolate. It sounds odd, but they were really good! You have to cut them to eat them though.
I suppose I could always start doing all my Christmas shopping and present wrapping in July or something.
Better yet, start in January! That's what my parents do.

sweeet. I've never had an Empire apple, but I do love applesauce. I'll have to remember that name for next apple season. Mansfield Park and Mummies is part of the latest fad for inserting the strange and unnatural into Jane Austen books. It started with Pride and Prejudice and Zombies... (Sorry, pon. I bet the others will be done as well eventually.
)
MissRosario, since I've yet to see the '05 version, I can't really compare the two Janes. From the versions I have seen, I liked the Jane from the 1980 BBC version better. I thought they looked more like sisters in that one.
Go, Mel! Go, Mel!
![]()
No, silly Mel! Silly Mel! My brother likes cows and says he wants to be a cow farmer someday. When the idea came up he said he would prefer a cow to a llama. (We'd been testing out a new technique of painting shirts and had chosen a llama as a test subject.) So, cow it is. I'm not sure that we'll actually go so far as to draw a short-legged cow busting out of a pen, though.
Your parents are very wise to shop in January. That way they get good deals at the sales, right?
Haha! At one point, I think that you knew my real name. Looong ago.

I do like playing out in the snow some, but not really, 'cause I get cold really quickly. And the snow was real dry, so we couldn't make a snowman or anything. Oh well, it's very pretty though.
We have about 10 inches, maybe... Not as much as you have. This snowstorm in VA reminds me of the 2000 snowfall in North Carolina. It was the most snow I had ever seen in my life, well, until I moved to Ohio, then we got that much snow every year.
Our snow is very wet and perfect for making snowballs. But we didn't make a snowman...
Anyway, I have a long list of soundtracks and DVD's that I would for Christmas. No surprise there I guess...

I agree. And I'm a bit shy around people I don't know very well anyways, since I'm not very clever with conversations. So I prefer hanging out with a few friends and not worrying about all that stuff. There are, however, certain exceptions in which I really enjoy parties.
*joins the Ever After fans* It's one of my favourites. Very sweet. I hope you enjoy it!
I once heard it described this way: characters with an English accent, living in France, wearing clothes based on Italian Renaissance styles.
![]()
Hey, Mel! How have you been?
I did manage to see it, and I must say it was a very good movie. I'm going to re-watch it soon. It quite exceeded my expectations.
That's definitely an accurate description, though. The accents really confused me as to where exactly they were living.
I've been doing well, as have the Royal Family. Glad Christmas break is finally here, though.
It's good to hear you're all doing well. Ditto about Christmas break, it's such a marvelous thing.
Thank you! Yes, my avatar was of P&P. I have changed it now, however.
@Rose Yes, there are definitely some types of parties I like. Like you said, the really casual ones where it's just a bunch of friends.
Congrats on getting your braces off tomorrow!! How long have you suffered them?
What's new for you lately? =]
Nothing much, just enjoying Christmas break. My Shakespeare class is going to be preforming a play in a month or two, so I'm excited about that, and nervous at the same time.
