I'm so glad for you Kat!!! We were supposed to get some snow, but I haven't seen it yet. It is really early to have snow. It is just cold here.
"Whenever you feel like criticizing any one," he told me, "just remember that all the people in this world haven't had the advantages that you've had.”
Mortereve all!
I hope you are all having a pleasant day! Today will be very enjoyable, since one of my older sisters is turning 19! It's rather odd.... But anyway.
Starkat, that's nice. But 2004 was one of the only years we got snow on Christmas Eve/Christmas day as well... maybe we live in the same state....
See you all another year.

PELS, I'm in south Texas. We had actually never, in recorded weather history, gotten snow before on Christmas Eve. The hilarious thing is, a group called Branded Duo released a song called No White Christmases in Houston that same year (I think).
I hope you get it Tiana! It hasn't begun to stick here yet, but current temp is about 40 so the ground isn't cold enough to hold it yet.
Wow, I haven't ventured into this thread in a LONG time!
Oh boy, Christmas is coming, oh boy! Now I just need to figure out what to get everyone.
That's so amazing that you got snow Kat! Sounds like you broke a lot of records today. Your neighbor to the north is very cold, but clear, so no snow. I'm hoping it will snow on Tuesday. There's a 40% chance according to Weather.com.
Hey Pebbles! I thought you didn't post in this thread! Awww, are you gone for the year? And why is it odd that your sister is 19? (A lot of my friends are 19.)
Joy to the world!
The Lord is come,
Let earth recieve her king!
Good mortereve all!
Brrr, it's cold here! I love cold weather though, and it is sunny outside, so it's not bad. flambeau and I have a volunteer dinner thing tonight (at the horse ranch where we volunteered) and it's being held in a barn....a barn. And I do not think that the barn is heated, so it will be a really cold night!
Wow! I'm so happy and surprised about all of the "absent Onions" coming back around all at once!! It's great to see all of you!
Rosa!!! Lovely to see you here! I'm looking forward to your catch-up post!
Yours are always sooo huge!
School has been going well, though it's been VERY tiring.
I'm surviving, though.
Aww, I'll be praying for you!
Jojo!!! Thanks for stopping by!
I will be (and have been ) praying for your brother!
Jo!!! Goodness, all of these lovely people coming in at the same time, I don't know what to do! Well, here is a hug!
I'm glad to hear that you're having fun on vacation, Lucy!
Good mortereve all! How is everyone today? I'm good- we just finished watching an old Shirley Temple movie over lunch (since my Mom and sister go out every Friday, the rest of us always watch movies over lunch), the movie was quite cute but good too. The particular one we watched was The Little Rich Girl, and Shirley reminded me quite a bit of one of my younger brothers, who has now declined taking singing and dancing lessons....it's a good thing I never found a curly wig for him.
Anywho!
Nellie! How great to see you around again!!
Salt and Vinegar pop corn sounds...tasty!
Hurray for snow, Starkat! That must be something special for you- how much do you have?
I hope it won't melt for a bit so you all can enjoy it!
Djaq: Ahh, okay! Thank you for the update! I shall continue to pray for you all, of course.
Do have fun volunteering at the dinner thing tonight, I hope it won't be too cold!
I'm pretty good here, thanks! Yesterday we finished "school" until after Christmas (Yes, I know it's probably early, but since we have a birthday in the family coming up we thought we'd start early), so, even though my school schedule wasn't that busy I'm enjoying the break.
I think.
Well, I should be off. Cheerios and Milk all!
Dear days of old, with the faces in the firelight,
Kind folks of old, you come again no more.
(Robert Louis Stevenson)
And I do not think that the barn is heated, so it will be a really cold night!
That doesn’t sound particularly pleasant. I worked outside yesterday and I’m going to again today but that’s when the sun’s out and it’s much warmer. Will there at least be a fire somewhere? Wear lots of layers, and if you have leggings, wear them under your pants or skirt.
So Djaq, did you finish NaNo? What was your novel about?
(Wow, apparently there have been a ton of people around I missed.)
Same here. I'm kind of stuck on what to get everyone in my family!
Well my sister and brother-in-law are easy because they always make a list... but my parents and brother will be really hard. I also know what to get my roommate, but that leaves four of my other friends I need to get presents for without spending too much money...
I’m actually listening to Owl City right now. It’s not very Christmassy, oh well.
BTW, your location cracks me up!
Hi and goodbye ForeverFan.
That's so amazing that you got snow Kat! Sounds like you broke a lot of records today. Your neighbor to the north is very cold, but clear, so no snow. I'm hoping it will snow on Tuesday. There's a 40% chance according to Weather.com.
I hope you get it! Just spent the last 30 minutes or so outside. Am now inside to thaw out. It is just now starting to stick! I can see a tiny light actual white layer on the top of my car.
So much for working from home today!
We got some snow overnight too. The temps are around 20F/-6C, so it's going to hang around a while. I suppose I'll need to start wearing a coat now.
Why can't you work from home, kat, if I may ask?
I got my first Christmas card in the mail today; I should begin working on my own to mail out soon...perhaps this weekend.
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
I am beyond distracted! I've been home since about 10:30 and in that time (now almost 4 hours later) I have gotten about 2 hours of work done. IT'S SNOWING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was outside so much that I had to come in so my hair could dry and I had to swap out coats 'cause mine was soaked!!
*announcer enters square*
Good evening all you Narnia-Webbers! And welcome to our next edition of the Ruby-Winter!
Now, hold onto your seats everyone, because... *looks up at sky and gapes in fear and terror*
*announcer runs from stage*
*A shout is heard from above* *leans over the edge of the sleigh and waves* Hey guys! Look what we got! We commandeered it from Santa!
I told you we'd get here! Now, to land this thing....*pulls out a peice of paper labeled "flight instructions"* *mutters* Man, Santa has bad handwriting. *Passes paper to Ruby* Read this. *pause* Please.
*tightens grip on reins* No you don't! Just start the present distribution like we agreed!
That's what you think! *Grabs something and hands it to Ruby* See, present parachutes! Just tie the gift to it and toss it over the edge!
Ruby! That's not yours! Put it back! Before you chop someone's head off! Namely mine!
*Looks concerned about Ed's gift* Um, ok. Don't forget the other one.
Well, we'd best be getting back so Santa doesn't miss his sleigh too much. *Waves to all the square onions/mushrooms/peas* See y'all around!
*the red sleigh directs its course away from the square*
Ruby: Are you sure Santa won't be mad when he figures out we distributed some of his presents early?
Ruby: And you said Santa wouldn't mind! I didn't even know the "jolly old fellow" kept a dungeon for naughty little kids! Just watch...we're going to get nothing but coal and switches for Christmas! *pouts*

*skips into the Square* Mortereve all! We just got back home from vacation about an hour ago. We had a great time. The place we stayed at had an indoor water park with tons of great water slides and all that kinda stuff. We spent lots of time there. We also went shopping a ton.
Got to see National Treasure for the first time back on Monday. I loved it and I've watched it twice since then.
Oh my, there's a lot of ketchup to do. I'd best get started.
Thanks, FF! We had a fantastic vacation.
Ooh, that's good. I hope you're able to read Princess Academy soon!
MissA, what are some of your favorite Christmas songs? Oh and happy belated anniversary!
Oh, that's nice that you got to see your niece and nephew, NN95! Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to spend time with family members.
Ruby, that's cool that your uncle gave you his old piano books! Are you learning any Christmas songs, since Christmas is coming up?
Thanks!! Yeah, The Sound of Music is a great movie! One of my favorites.
*waves to stardf* Good to see you around!
NN95, hmph, the only reason you got the first post of the day back on Tuesday was because that was the day my family was going on vacation. I was busy packing and didn't get a chance to get on.
Ah, so you shopped for two hours on Black Friday, EP. Did you get anything good?
I'll keep praying for your friend's mom!
Malkah, my whole family on my mom's side was gathered at my grandparents' for Thanksgiving.
Well, my mom's parents usually come down and visit us for the day on Christmas Eve. Then on Christmas Day, it's usually just our family at our house, and we open gifts, etc. On the day after Christmas, everyone on my dad's side of the family gets together. So we'll have a very busy but fun Christmas. What about you, what does your family like to do for Christmas?
Yeah, "I'll be Home for Christmas" is kinda tricky. Not as hard as other pieces I've done though...
Lol, yup, I had chocolate cake for breakfast when I visited my grandparents. It's very good.
Djaq, "Build An Ark" is coming along fairly well. We've done the chorus by ear, and now we're working on the first verse. It's a beautiful song.
*waves to Miss Rose*
Lol, PrinceCor, we did go shopping on Black Friday, but we didn't leave till 9:30. So it was crowded, but not as crowded as it would have been at 4:00 or 5:00.
I'm doing great, Winter. Been quite busy lately, as we were on vacation recently, and getting ready for Christmas and everything. Christmas is only three weeks from today.
*waves to Nellie of Narnia* Hi there! How are you?
*waves to stargazer*
*waves to peterpevensie* Hey! Good to see you in the Square!
Ooh, cool that you got snow, starkat! We haven't got any yet this year.
Pebbles, tell your sister I said happy birthday!
Ruby and Winter: LOL! I think that was one of your funniest posts ever! I was cracking up!
Yay! Finally done with ketchup, though this isn't as long as some posts I've seen...

Thank you very much for you prayers! Yes, I hope that I won't freeze while I'm there.
I'm pretty good here, thanks!
Yesterday we finished "school" until after Christmas (Yes, I know it's probably early, but since we have a birthday in the family coming up we thought we'd start early), so, even though my school schedule wasn't that busy I'm enjoying the break.

I'm glad to hear it! Ah, how fun that you have already started your Christmas break! I hope that you enjoy it!
That doesn’t sound particularly pleasant. I worked outside yesterday and I’m going to again today but that’s when the sun’s out and it’s much warmer. Will there at least be a fire somewhere? Wear lots of layers, and if you have leggings, wear them under your pants or skirt.
I really don't know what kind of conditions it will be in. I've never been to one before, but thankfully, it will be casual, so I can dress as warmly as I like (or need to!). Thanks for the tips!
So Djaq, did you finish NaNo? What was your novel about?
Yup, I'm an official winner of NaNo, but my book isn't quite finished. I have the ending almost done, but then I need to go back and fill in about a year's worth of time that I skipped.
My book is the style of a journal, written by a girl (Kathryn Trent is her name) in the Civil War. It's just a simple book about a young girl.
Well my sister and brother-in-law are easy because they always make a list... but my parents and brother will be really hard. I also know what to get my roommate, but that leaves four of my other friends I need to get presents for without spending too much money...
Oof, good luck with that. I have three married sisters (two of whom have families of their own), another sister and a brother that I have to think of something for. I think that I know what I'm going to get a couple of them, but I still have to go and get them.
I’m actually listening to Owl City right now. It’s not very Christmassy, oh well.
Ooh, I love his music! Well, if you're listening to "The Christmas Song" by him then it is Christmassy. What are your favorites of his songs?
BTW, your location cracks me up!
Thanks! I borrowed it from a member of one of my favorite bands.
That was definitely my favorite Ruby/Winter post to date! Very entertaining!
I get a teddy bear?? Aww, thank you sooo much! He's adorable! What should I name him? I'll have to come up with a good one. . .
I'm glad that your vacation went well, Lucy!! How fun!
Got to see National Treasure for the first time back on Monday. I loved it and I've watched it twice since then.

That sounds fun! I love figuring out songs by ear.
