Pops in to say a BIG HELLO to all the dear SquareOnions.
And I see the two Louises are the only two to post on this page so far. Good to see you, Louise the First.
*nabs a Truffle chocolate from the chocolate tree on the way out and wishes for snow* It's rare that we get the white stuff so late in the season and I MISS IT!!! *weeps*
EDIT: Jojo! Grand to see you as well. How exciting about New Years in Tennessee.

*tiptoes into the Square with a big grin on her face* Mortereve everyone! Well, we're here on vacation, and so far we're having a great time. I hadn't thought that I'd be able to have Internet, but my dad brought his laptop and, so, here I am.
We've had a fantastic time. The place we're staying at has an indoor water park and we spent a good deal of this afternoon there. We went shopping this morning. My dad just went out to get us some pizza for dinner.
Obviously, I don't have the time to make a ketchup post, but I'll probably be back next Saturday, since we'll be back from vacation Friday evening.
*waves to Jojo and johobbit* Good to see you both around.
Well, I'll be back sometime Saturday morning, guys. See ya! *waves to all the SquareOnions*

Hello everyone!! It's a perfectly horrid day here. Don't you hate it when it's sunny and beautiful outside and you're stuck with a cold? And then to make it worse, one of your bestest friends shows up (one who lives faraway) and you have a cold! Actually, my day hasn't been so bad.
I just hate having the cold...
Quite well, thank you! Last week was nice and relaxing, which is good this this week will be very busy...
Anyway, Christmas break is quickly approaching!
Ugh. I've been having one too many busy weeks. *sigh* But as you said, Christmas break is coming!! And my Rhetoric teacher is absolutely lovely! She doesn't assign any homework over breaks! All I have to do over Christmas break is read a book. *sigh of contentment* I'm really looking forward to Christmas.
And I hope you get plenty of rest over your busy week!! I always manage to stay up too late when I should really be getting sleep... *guilty*
Edmund P, I like your new avatar. My mom's a huge fan of Skillet and she's going to buy their latest album as soon as possible. I'm looking forward to hearing all the rest of the songs. They only ever play Hero and Monster on the radio. *sigh*
Yay, I'm glad you're enjoying the lessons!
And how neat to have your mom as your teacher; she knows exactly how to teach you and what you'd be most interested in playing.
My mom is an extremely good teacher. And it's so nice to always have her there. Whenever I get stuck on something I just have to take it to her and she'll help me figure it out.
I feel kind of sorry for my mom, though, because I'm the only one of the family who's really interested in music. My younger brother (Bravo) has a super amazing voice, but he wants to go into the air force!
So, I'm glad she's teaching me now. She hasn't taught music lessons in ages and I can tell she's enjoying getting back into them.
*waves thrice to Ruby, Dani, and Erubadhriel*
Christmas is always the highlight of my year.
Haha! Rubaniriel!!! I love it!! I'll have to have a character in my story with the name Rubaniriel...
I dare say that was extremely creative, malkah!!!
Mine too!
Everything about it is just lovely! What are some of your favorite Christmas traditions?
Oh! I love everything about Christmas!
But I would have to say that I especially enjoy decorating the house for Christmas! That is always an adventure at our house! Hanging up the stockings and the lights and all the wreaths and putting up the candles while blaring Christmas music on the stereo in the Living Room--yep, that would definitely have to be one of my all-time parts of the Christmas season.
And I love visiting relatives and seeing all my cousins for Christmas. Sledding and snowball fights are especially fun with extended family.
Haha! You shouldn't have gotten me started, malkah!!
How about you? What's your favorite part(s) of the Christmas Season?
I've been doing good for the most part, thanks!
Life's been really busy, and I'm trying to finish up all college prep before Christmas, so along with looming deadlines, that's been interesting.
How about you? How's dance going for you?
I can understand how crazy college prep can get. Two of my sisters are already in college and then there's my other sister who has two more years before she's off to college and she's ALREADY stressing about it. And then there's me whose like "college? who needs to worry about college?" I'm sure my time for college prep stress will come soon enough.
I hope everything turns out alright. I've been doing pretty well, aside from a cold and a dreaded research paper that I have to write within a week's worth of time. It's only 10 pages double spaced, so it shouldn't be that hard and I pretty much have everything laid out. I just need to get it completely organized.
Dance is going really well. Sad thing is, though, I may have to quit within a few months. Expenses for dance have gone way up in the last year what with the competition and all. But I don't want to quit!! Yeah. So, I guess you can be praying that I don't have to quit. And if I do have to quite, you can pray that I take it well.
Liberty Hoffman, I don't believe we've met before! My name is Ruby or Dani or whatever you prefer. I see you like Inkhear! Fantastic book! One of my favorites.
Yet another lovely post, RinterSamgee (Dani/Winty)!
Very creative!
Thanks! We had lots of fun making it together. Most of the creativity goes to Winty, though.
Are we going to hear from you and flam any time soon in a joint post??
I'm SO glad that it's over! It was a wonderful experience and I'll miss it, but it will be nice to do something more than just write.
(like posting in the Town Square.
)
I totally agree!! I can breathe now! Winty was just telling me today how it felt strange to have all that free time after a month of writing... *chuckles*
*hugs back* Ugh, yes, school can be crazy.
How is it going now? Are things still busy?
Hi Djaq!!! School is great (buzy as always
! It would be absolutely fantastic...if I didn't have this dreaded cold. I hate having a cold!! I would sooner have the stomach flu or something terrible, but not the cold!! I can't sleep with a cold..and when I don't sleep...well, I turn into a tired irritated monster and that's no fun (not for me or anyone living in the same house as me
)
I'm so glad to hear that piano lessons are going well!
Ah, Christmas carols are really fun!
Thanks!! I'm very glad to be getting them now! And Christmas Carols are definitely one of the best parts of the holiday season!!
johobbit!!! Where have you been all this time?? Missed you! And here's a hug!
How has life been??
Miss Rosario!! Aw, stop complaining about no snow!
Where I live, we're lucky to get a little ice in January...and that's it. How have you been?
Jojo! So good to see you again! *hugs* It's been a while. And thanks for the congrats. NaNoWriMo was a lot of fun and I was so happy to complete it! How are you? How has life been going?
Well, that's all for now!! I'll be around the square for a while.
God bless, everyone!

*With a sudden flash of light and a sound like thunder, a familiar DeLorean speeds into the Square.... barely missing the fountain... and the chocolate tree before coming to a stop by the Cup & Platter. A familiar figure dressed in 1985 clothes (vintage BTTF) emerges from the drivers seat*
.... Great! I made it back to the Square! *The Prince looks around the Square* And I didn't run into anything!
*The Royal Dragon, Vern, lands near the fountain. You really need to stop driving that thing around. You could get stuck sometime with it.....*
Yeah, I guess you're right, Vern. It's been fun while it lasted.... I guess I could sell it on Ebay. Oh yeah! I saw this really cool ship down by the harbor earlier that's for sale. It's all black and comes with this nifty compass!
*Great, here we go again......*
Anyway, Mortereve all! Sorry if I scared anyone with my driving. It's hard to steer a tricked-out DeLorean....
Alright, time for some catching-up!
--------------------
@ Lucy. Sounds like you also had a very nice Thanksgiving. No, we decided we liked our limbs attached to our bodies, so we stayed in on Friday.
@ GreenLeaf. I know what you mean about Liam Neeson. It took me awhile to get used to him as anything but the voice of Aslan.
Really? Well, glad you finally found it. Er, that I said it for you.... or never mind. The music fit the movie, but I felt that there were some parts where different music would have worked better for the scene. *shrug* Also, the score (in movie) sounds like it went through some Post-Production tinkering to me.
Yep, you're weird that way. I think what really made TDK so disturbing for me was the combined feeling you get from the Joker plus the way Two-Face looks with the half skeleton/burned face.
I'll just stick with Begins until the third movie comes out.
Mmmhmm, Katie Holmes (now married to Tom Cruise) played Rachel in Begins while Maggie Gyllenhaal played the character in TDK.
@ Fanny. Well, it's on my Christmas list, so maybe I'll get then. If not, I can always buy it off of Amazon. I've seen My Fair Lady at least a dozen times over the years. It was only after seeing it recently that I finally got all the sly jokes sprinkled throughout. Most of the stuff went over my head when I was younger....
@ LL. Yay! People are still discovering my blog!
Glad you liked it and thank you. *bows*
*Decides not to take offense at LL little jab about his driving*
*waves to back to MissA*
@ NN. O.K.... I think I'll just stay out of the conversation then.
@ Malkah. From the films I've seen, yes. He had a great way of building suspense in every scene while also taking advantage of scenery and camera tricks.
*waves to Malkah past, present and future*
Thanks! Glad some of my reviews have come in handy for you. That's one of the reason I wanted to do soundtrack reviews, to help give a true opinion of an album. So many times you either get overly biased reviews or simply people saying "this CD is awesome!" or "this sounds like so-and-so is just a bunch of noise".
@ Djaq, who quoted me 4 times. Why, thank you.
Ah, O.K. I figured it was you. No, you haven't said anything incriminating as far as I know. I was just curious since "Djaq" is not exactly a common name.
It's been cold, rainy and overcast all day. In other words, December in the South.
*Thank you, miss Djaq. I see it as my Royal duty being the dragon of the family. Sometimes Cor disagrees, but anyway.... *
Oh! I need to fix that then.... Actually, I've been thinking of getting a new avatar. I might be stopping by the Avvie and Sig thread in SO later tonight....
@ Rose. Tis grand to see you around!!
Glad school is going well for you and do try to stop by again before another month goes by.
@ Jojo. I think I've already told you this on FB, but.... Congrats on winning NaNo!!!!!
@ Jo. JO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You've been very nought lurking about the forums but not posting in here, not even to say hello.
But, I've done the same before so.....
How are things up in the far country?
---------------------------------------
O.K, well that gets all my catching-up for tonight.
Goodnight to all!

Good mortereve, all! How is everyone this beautiful Thursday ?! I'm doing well, for the most part. I am, though, fighting a small cold, but it's nothing bad. Well, well, time for another CATCHUP! Ah, it feels great to be back in the Town Square again
.
when my family was able to help process some Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes! We worked one of their warehouse lines for a few hours and had an amazing time!
Oh, neat! The church that I attend Youth Group at is doing that on Saturday. I was going to go, but we were going to be getting back pretty darn late (1:00am).
It's good to see you in the Square again, Edmund P! And I'll be praying for your friend's mom's healing!
Well, it's great to be in the Town Square again ! Thanks so much for praying
! So, what have you been up to
?
I am listening to Skillet right now!
Ah, a fellow Skillet fan! Welcome to the Town Square !
*waves to Ed P* Thank you for keeping us updating on your friend's mom! I'll keep praying.
Oh, you're welcome! Thanks for your prayers ! So you did NaNoWriMo too? Well, I kinda did it...though my final word count was about 38,000 words short from 50,000
. But I will continue to write until I have reached the end!
It still hasn't snowed yet this year! It's predicted tomorrow, but since today was in the 50's I have my doubts.
Ha! The same here. It's in the 50s right now. Snow? I think not .
JOJO! Welcome back ! I haven't spoken to you in ages! How goes it?
JOHOBBIT! Welcome back ! How have you been
?
Edmund P, I like your new avatar. My mom's a huge fan of Skillet and she's going to buy their latest album as soon as possible. I'm looking forward to hearing all the rest of the songs. They only ever play Hero and Monster on the radio. *sigh*
Thanks! Oh, really? Neat. Yeah, I bought their newest album about a month ago...it's a-ma-zing ! They never play any Skillet on our radio stations
.
Ah, finally! I get the first post of the day
! Have a great day, everyone!
I met Georgie and Skandar AND saw the film in one evening.
Good Mortereve all! *waves to all*
How is everyone? I'm pretty good- all our snow has melted and it's now raining quite a bit.
Of course I don't mind.
Now...for some catch up.
FF, I'm glad you rather enjoyed your assignments! :] Good for you... I can't do that even if I try
![]()
Hehe, thanks!
Right now we're just practicing with the orchestra, but we should join the ballet in a couple days.
How big is the production that you're in? It sounds exciting- it must be a fun experience for you.
Do let us know how it goes!
Quite well, thank you! How was yours?
Well, ours was way back in October, but it was a good one. We were able to see some cousins on my mom's side of the family that we only get to see once or twice a year, so that is partly what made it a whole lot more fun.
Hi FF!! I actually only got half of my story completed in 50,000 words, so I won't have the story completely finished until next year. *sigh* I have a lot of editing work to do.
Have fun with that! But at least you got the 50,000 words.
Fanny wrote:Perhaps it's being picky, but I found the 95 Elizabeth had somewhat harder features. Not ugly, of course, I hope I wouldn't call anyone that, but just not exactly what I imagined Elizabeth to look like.
Yes, and though I don't think she was ugly either, her sour temper showed too much on her face for her to be able to really charm anyone, which is unlike the book Elizabeth, I think.
![]()
When I first re-read what I typed above I nearly thought I was talking about the 95 Elizabeth from P&P, which, er, gave me a huge shock. But thankfully, I realized once more we were talking about Persuasion.
Yes- I agree. You put it quite well.
Yes! I'm constantly amazed at what my library doesn't have...and all the rubbish that fills the shelves instead.
![]()
Ah, yes!! It's so frustrating sometimes, isn't it?
So! What's new with you? How is your life going?
She is actually doing much, much better! For awhile after she came home from the hospital, she had to use a walker to get around, but now she's walking without it and is feeling a lot better. My mom is monitoring her diet, and that is helping a lot!
![]()
Oh good! I'm so very glad!
How is everything else for you?
Is your dad's job working out good?
I'm glad that you caught up and got the 50,000 words too- congratulations!
![]()
Yes...there were quite a few more subtle jokes that one did have to be older to catch in My Fair Lady, indeed! It was nice seeing it again, it dispelled alot of unfavourable impressions in my mind.
But anyways! How is life for you?
*waves to everyone else* Great to see some folks returning to the Square, even if it's just for a post or two!
And now I should be off. Cheers all!
Dear days of old, with the faces in the firelight,
Kind folks of old, you come again no more.

Hello all! *Waves*
*cheers for Winter winning NaNo*
Thanks! How have you been lately?
lol yeah... I have been doing great! what about you?
I've been pretty good. Kinda busy, what with school and all.
*waves to Winter* How are you?
![]()
*Waves back* I'm good. You?
It doesn't matter whether or not impostors use logical reasoning. I am only coming to a conclusion about impostors using logical reasoning.
![]()
No, you're coming up with a conclusion about what an impostor would do logically. But if the impostor behaves illogically your logical conclusion is worthless. (I think I'm digging a deeper ditch here. Too much deeper and I won't be able to get back out.)
There's no such thing as a dumb story!
And I agree, the point is to have fun amidst all the crazyness.
Conga-rats on reaching 50K!![]()
That's great! Are you going to pursue your novel afterwards (editing and such)?
Thanks!
I will pursue my novel, but really only to the point of editing before allowing my friends to read it, not publishing it, or anything.
*chuckles at the Ruby-Winter post* I love the tornado!
![]()
Thanks! It was my idea.
We get a "really well" from one of the queens of joint-posts?!?!?
![]()
I'm sooo happy! Thank you!
(kidding as well)
YAY for winning NaNo!!
lol, you should be happy. It's not often we bestow such kindness on our loyal fans! *acts snobby* Kidding, kidding.
Thanks! I'm happy I won, too. Although I'm curently muddled and can't remember who I should be congratulating. *shrugs* Oh well, I'm sure the blanket congratulation in the NaNo thread will suffice.
Jo!!!! You haven't been here in in forever!!!
See y'all!

Hello there everyone! Wow, it's been a long time since I've been in the Square.
Hello to all those I know, as well as to those who I don't know! *waves* For anyone who doesn't know, I'm johobbit's daughter. How is everyone?
I'm doing pretty well. I can't believe it's December already! Right now I'm enjoying Christmas music and eating salt & vinegar popcorn. Yum! What's everyone else up to?

Nellie! How wonderful to see you in the Square again! How are you on this early winter's eve?
I've also been absent from the Square for a while, between visiting friends and relatives, NaNo, and other things. I'm still working on my NaNo, but with the deadline past the pressure to complete it on time is off. I do want to finish it, however, perhaps by Christmas.
'Tis snowing lightly outside tonight, and it was fun driving by some of the local Christmas decorations with winter finally making an appearance here.
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
*Runs in on Shadowfax with Gandalf following made as a hornet* Now you give that back or I'll turn you into a Toad! Fine Gandalf Here he is...

How is everyone on this fine and beautiful mortereve?
I am doing quite well. Listening to Irish music, sitting in a chair, with the fire in front of me, and the smell of cooked potatoes filling the air.
There are a few faces here that I haven't seen in a while.
Sonny!!!! It is good to have you back.
Vern, I and my "dear" sister have been "fairing" quite nicely lately. Been keeping busy. And of course out of trouble.
Congrats Greenleaf on your one year anniversary!
LL, I'm not a firefighter yet. I am volunteering for the local Volunteer Fire Department, but I haven't run any calls yet. Hopefully that will change on Saturday.
Very interesting post, Stardf. Good to see you back again. And as usual you have a very substance filled post. I assume that you are doing alright in the Navy?
Malkah, yes I am training to be a firefighter. While you are a Volunteer you are constantly training.
Jo!!!! It has been to long. How've you been?
You're getting snow late in the season, and we might get snow early in the season....actually it is rare for us to get any at all, but it might snow tomorrow.
Nellie!!! I so need to stick around here more so that I can talk to Y'all more. Do you have a recipe for salt and vinegar popcorn, or is it just something you get at the store? I don't think we have any here in Texas.
"Whenever you feel like criticizing any one," he told me, "just remember that all the people in this world haven't had the advantages that you've had.”
Creeps timidly in... Goodness, it's been a few months since I've been on here. I think I dropped out earlier in the semester. I will try to be better (that sounds familiar, doesn't it?).
I just have a few moments before I have to go take a quiz on planar antenna propagation of magnetic flux vector fields or something like that. .

I will try to keep you up to date. I'll probably be online a lot Saturday. All we do is sit around waiting for calls so...
Just finished dinner. It was pretty good, even if I do say so myself. We had tacos with homemade sausage.
"Whenever you feel like criticizing any one," he told me, "just remember that all the people in this world haven't had the advantages that you've had.”
Morterve, all!
Happy belated Turkey Day to everyone. Cep and Ram came down to see my parents and I for the Thanksgiving dinner. I enjoyed having them meet up for the first time.

One Word...
SNOW
Two Words...
Interesting Day
Three Words...
Earliest Snow EVER
Five Words
First time back to back!
It is actually rain + snow and they are predicting it turning to snow as the temps continue to fall.
For those who live in the lands where they see snow more than once every few years... We usually don't see snow at all. We had snow accumulate last year for the first time since December 24, 2004. This year will be the first year it has EVER snowed back to back in the last 100 years of recording weather down here. Christmas Eve 2004 was so rare that they put a photo book together on it. This is also the earliest Snow has been recorded in this area.
Tis a very interesting day!
