*trudges into the Square* Monday...more school. :(

Ketchup:

FF, yes, I have had two other tennis lessons, besides my first one. :) It's going a lot better, and I'm enjoying it more now. :)
Well, today I have piano lessons, which I can't wait for. Also, we're going to the library today, so I can't wait for that either. :D Lol.

Greenleaf, the Ruins of Gorlan is really good...I'm almost tempted to say that one is my favorite, too. But I think I liked Sorcerer of the North best. I really liked having Alyss in the story again. :)

Ruby, hehe, yeah, it would be funny to start a Crazy About Christmas club or something...lol. ;) ;)) :D :p
How are things with you? :)

Djaq and flambeau: Lol, you guys are so funny! ;)) I enjoyed that! Glad to hear you had a great time! :D

*waves back to Bella-not-from-Twilight* ;) I've missed you too! I was glad to see you stopped by again. :) How have you been lately?

Yay, all done with ketchup. Anyway, I really enjoyed church yesterday. Our youth leader is very friendly and funny, and teen church went great. Today we have piano lessons and we're going to the library. :)

How is your NaNo story coming along? :)

Quite well, I think. There have been a number of surprises, all of which were pleasant.

Don't worry, Vern! LL and Mel aren't around right now. We're fine!

*Last time you said something like that I wound-up in a lake and you got chased home by some very angry beavers.....*

That's a matter of complete indifference! Besides, I was merely an all-most innocent bystander.....

=)) I know this isn't an answer to your original question of how I'm doing a few pages back, but you may be interested to learn that though I have yet to use a NarniaWebber in the tradition of window-sill cats named Susan and a cow named Fanny in my NaNo novel, there is a (human) character named Vern. :)

*wonders what happened to DTR and Betsie's original chauffeur* Perhaps it will always remain a mystery...

*nods* How is your writing going? Congarats for attaining 40,000 words!! :) *applauds*

It's going... very interestingly. ;)) My characters decided that they were going to have a polo match, which was not what I was expecting. So now I'm rereading Frog, the Horse that Knew No Master to quickly check my polo and tropical setting facts. (Of course, the match has already been written and is probably full things one would not find in a polo match, but there may be others...) And congratulations to you for being done! :-o

*loves the flambeau/Djaq post* I agree with Ruby, maybe there should be some sort of fan club for that sort of thing. B-)

By the way, may I say I'm especially fond of your graphics set? It has such a nice feel to it.

D'awwww. Thank you! Betsie inspired it and found the pictures. :D I've been doing pretty well. I'm not sure how I feel about people playing Christmas music already (*wail* It's not even Thanksgiving yet!), so I have a bit of an attitude there... 8-| I enjoyed reading about your hat!

And someone mentioned the Errol Flynn Robin Hood. My family and I watched that yesterday. Such a fun movie. :D

A breathless runner runs breathlessly into the Square, breathlessly running...

(heave...pant...heave...etc.) A Royal Proclamation from His Majesty King Lune, King of Archenland. Hear ye, hear ye!

"By the Powder...er, Power vested in Us by Ourselves, We do declare (KL is from Southern Archenland, you know) this day, November 16, 2009, to be a Royal Holiday, in Honor of Our Natal Day.

"No gifts please, although Lady A (fine woman that she is) asked me to announce that she will be accepting chocolate(s) of most any variety, c/o 1600 Archenlandia Avenue, Anvaard. (How many "A's" are in that word? I never can remember.) Now, where was I? Oh yes... (ahem)

"And so, without further eloquence, I hereby declare this bridge open!

Carry on!"

The runner, having caught his breath (but slightly confused by the proclamation), leaves the Square, drinking a root beer slipped into his pack by Prince Cor (fine lad that he is).

Greetings, Square Onions! I come with good news about my friend's mother.

The doctors have finally found out what it is. They are calling it a 'mutated version of the Swine Flu.' They think that she had had it and it just, well, mutated. She is still on a ventilator, but she's stable. The fever is still bad, running about 103-105 F. But, she is slowly getting better. Just keep praying!

I would like to catch up...but I'm working on my book right now :) .

I met Georgie and Skandar AND saw the film in one evening.

Oh, my gosh. I'm afraid I have missed an awful lot around here. I kept putting off my catch-ups and basically only posted shorter posts in the spareoom... so now I am terribly behind. ;))
I'll try to be better. Over Thanksgiving I'll have a lot more free time :)
Just really quick, wow EP that sounds really bad (about your friend's mother) - I'll be praying for her!
I'm off to read "The Importance of Being Earnest" by Wilde... funfunfun. :p

*pops in the square* Hey all!
My word, it's my first year in NaNo.. yep, all the business I expected.
Anywho!
Today was a great day. I was at this acting/writing thing that I go to. It was a ton of fun today. :P We had a bunch of small performances, which was all done so well!

I s'pose I'll catchup now. :D

*waves to CSLN* Me! I missed you!

Aww, hey! How are you doing?

CS!!! I've missed you! Tell Bella to stop by soon too!

Huggles to you too! How are things faring on that side of the screen?
Heh, I'll tell her to stop by ;)

Ella! Yours and Bella's posts seem to be getting rarer and rarer.
Thanks for dropping by and letting us know you're still alive.

:P That made me laugh. And how are thou?

*waves to CSLN* I'm so glad you stopped by! Come back soon!

*waves back* Hi there malkah! Heehee, Here I am! [stands erect with a smile on her face looking no different than a toddler]
And how are you?

Ella! Bella! Welcome back!

Melsereena! :D (Hope you don't mind the nick-name.) It's nice to see you too. :P

*waves to CS* Great to see you!

Hey there Djaq! How goes it?

*waves to Lor*

[sniff] Y'all are so sweet! It's so nice to be back in the Square [Breathes in the fresh Square Air] Well, I'll be around. Toodle-oo everyone!

I only really popped on to wish KingLune a very happy birthday! :D Many blessings to you on this day. :) I hope the lovely Lady A arranged for a special meal for today, and that Vern and PC004 did any chores you had for you today? ;) *sends several boxes of dark chocolate to the Royal family care of Lady A*

In case anyone is wondering, we're getting down to the last crunch of the semester. Several exams this week and the beginning of next, Thanksgiving break, then dead week and finals! *will be glad to be over* Then my intersession course starts... :P Ah, well. At least I'll have a short break from engineering courses. ;))

CS, things have been going pretty well. School is going smoothly, and I've been reading like nuts, as usual. ;)) :p How about you?

Valia!! Hey! Good to see you stop by. :)

Yaaay, done with ketchup. Piano lessons went great yesterday. My piano teacher and I are working on a Gaither Vocal Band song called "Build an Ark"...it's awesome. I checked out Book of a Thousand Days by Shannon Hale at the library. I'm about halfway through it and it's really good.

Howdy y'all!!

How is everyone on this beautiful mortereve??

I'm doing pretty well. I'm at my sisters house right now. She has her two kids and is babysitting another one who is sick, so I'm sticking around to help her out around the house.

The square seems to be going a bit slow lately. I should stop by more often though.

I see that I missed Mr Lune's birthday. Happy birthday to you sir. I hope that you had a blessed day.

I finished my intro fire academy Saturday so I'm pretty happy about that. I hope that I can go to the other academy in FEB.

Mortereve all!

That's what you think!

You're right, that is what I think, and for very logical reasons. ;)

Hi Aiden!! Sorry that I disappeared from the forums for a while... I'm having a little trouble adjusting to this school schedule. But I'm pretty much used to little sleep now. :P

I understand. Good to have you back though. Ooh, little sleep is never fun. :| I'm not getting much sleep either, but that's my fault, not my school schedule's. ;))

waves to ALL she didn't mention

I fall into that category... *waves back*

Say, is there anyone here that likes old TV shows like Hogan's Heroes? I find HH simply hilarious. Col. Klink and Shulz are one of my favorite comedy teams. Carter too can be really funny.

A lot of people here love old TV shows. I love Hogan's Heroes, too. :)

Yes, that's right, NN95. When I was 9, I had braces on my four top teeth. Now that I've lost all my adult teeth, I'll be getting braces on all of my teeth now. *sighs*

Aww, that's too bad. Well, at least you're not going to have anything you haven't had before... just more... 8-|

GASP! I think thats your smallest post ever :-o

Naw, I've posted smaller. But it is very short for me, huh? A lot of my posts have been short lately... I guess because the Square has been moving slowly, and I don't have much to respond to. That's certainly not the case today! I have a ton to catch-up on since I was away for a couple days.

*chuckles at the Dennie and Betsie joint post and then later at the Djaq and flambeau joint post* Dani and Winty, you've started a trend! (BTW, flam and Jack, what a neat experience!)

Heh, yes. There seems to be so many of those types of movies, eh? ;)) That's too bad about it not being open often, I think libraries could be great resources to have, if they had what I needed. I guess that sounds, well, selfish, all about me & the like, and I realize that some libraries, especially those in small towns don't have the money to buy more books of all different types, but it's often easier I find to sometimes just buy the books I'm looking for than borrowing them from the library (mostly because they don't have them, or wouldn't be interested in buying them as they might not be borrowed enough) or interlibrary loaning them. Still. >_>

Ah, there do indeed. ;) Yeah, it is a shame. Apparently the city is trying to get it closed, or something. They've definitely cut the funding down, I know that. There was a hearing at city hall recently... eh, too complicated for me. ;)) Yeah, I completely agree with you. And, no, that's not selfish. Of course you'd want the library to have what you wanted. Otherwise, what's the point. Ah well...

*waves to greenleaf*

I would go for a walk in the woods, but Dani refuses to stop singing and Erubadhriel insists on staying home and working on Latin homework. *sigh*

Oh, I know the feeling. I won't even begin to talk about what NN95 and Double N have been doing lately.

I think so, too! I blame NaNo, and my laziness. (Although more of the latter.)
How have you been lately? :)

Ah, I see. Well, we'll excuse NaNo. Hope that goes well for you! :) Laziness, on the other hand... [-x ;))
I've been doing well, thank you. How about you?

I don't know if it was just the DVD we rented, but did anyone else rent/buy up and notice it had no menu but speeded to the movie, and had no option of subtitles

I didn't notice that it had no subtitles, but I definitely noticed that there was no menu. :( I guess that's the way they make them for Redbox.

Do post a picture of the fedora!

That's great about your friend's mother, Ed!

*waves to MissA whom he hasn't seen in a while*

*waves to Valia*!!!!!

Ti'ana!!! Yes, you should post more often!

Alright, I'm off. Mortereve all!

Indeed, Ti'ana. The Square has moved slowly for quite some time now. Unusual, but certainly not unexpected. This is certainly a lull in the forum until we see more information come out on VDT. Once a trailer hits the big screen, the forum activity will swell rapidly.

Good job on completing your intro fire academy! Perhaps soon you will be in full turnouts, working an inch and a quarter attack line. I am content working rehab. :D

Good mortereve all!!!! :D

I hope that everyone is fairing well (and for those of you who haven't been to a fair, I hope that you are doing well!)! :)

Hey Djaq! Sorry that "life" is not going GREAT! but glad that it is going good..... I,m doing great!

Well, I am glad to hear it! :D I suppose I should have said that I was doing great, but I just typed "good" instead. . .

Great blog, Cor!! :D

All is well here. :)

Good! :)
Okay, that was short. . . What do you want to talk about? ;))

That's quite a massive post!
I did watch it, and I would recommend it. ;) I liked the fact that not much makeup was used on the actors/actresses. It gives it a realistic feel. :) I liked Anne, I wasn't sure about Wentworth, and I thought all the Musgroves were great. :)

Thanks! ;))
I requested Persuasion from the library (both the '07 and the '95), but there was some sort of mix-up and they don't have it yet, so I'm just waiting for the email that tells me it's there, then I will bring it home and watch it as soon as I can. ;)

Djaq, yeah, it was really cool seeing the cub! He was so small and cute.

Aww. Fun! ;))
How have you been lately? Have you been busy? Are you working on any new songs on the piano? :D

If I keep this NaNoWriMo thing up...I'll turn into a hermit! A hermit who does nothing but sit in front of a computer all day... *sigh*

Same here... ;))

Djaq!! *hugs* How has life been going these days? Not too crazy?

Dani! *hugs back* Life has been going really good over here! :D It has been a little crazy with various things, but it's not too bad. :) How have things been for you? :D
*reads on* Yay, for you getting piano lessons!! :D That's great!

It is really.... Djaq?!?! :-o It's been waaay too long!

It's me! :) I really miss being here more, and I am trying to get in the habit of coming around more often, but I've been rather busy with NaNo and family. :)

I know it works differently. After you visit the thread, you only get one notification until you visit again. I like that, so it doesn't fill up my inbox. But I didn't get any notifications..., except one post that DiGoRyKiRkE made. Ah well, I'll still have to check out the entries.

Mmmhmm. :) I'm not subscribed to anything, so I just have to make sure I check everything when I get on. ;)) Have you looked at the entries yet? (If so) What do you think of them? :)

Yeah, true.
Haha, I love that one, too.
"Ian's gonna try to steal it, and if he succeeds, he'll destroy the Declaration. The fact is, the only way to save the Declaration is to steal it. It's upsidedown. I don't think there's a choice.

Okay, looong line now...*deep breath* :P
"Ben, for goodness sake, it's like stealing a national monument, it's like stealing him" *points to the statue of Abraham Lincoln* "it can't be done..not that it shouldn't be done, it can't be done. Let me prove it to you." (scene switches to the Library of Congress) "OK, Ben, now pay attention. I've brought you to the Library of Congress. Why? Because it's the biggest library in the world. Over twenty-million books, and they're all saying the same exact thing: 'Listen to Riley'. Now, what we have here, my friend, is an entire layout, of the archives. Short of builders' blueprints, you've got construction orders, phone lines, water and sewage, it's all here. Now, when the Declaration is on display, it is surrounded by guards, and video monitors, and little families from Iowa, and little kids on their 8th grade field trip, and beneath an inch of bullet-proof glass, is an army of sensors and heat monitors that will go off if someone gets too close with a high fever. Now, when it's not on display, it is lowered into a four-foot think, concrete, steel-plated vault, that happens to be equipped with an electronic combination lock and biometric access-denial systems."
Okay, pretty much all of that was done by memory, so cut me some slack if I messed up. ;)

"Yes, mum!" LWW. (Naw, names like that make lines unique. They wouldn't be the same without them.)

"You mocked me once, never do it again! I died that day!" The Princess Bride. (So true.)

Well, as long as you didn't tell him, of course he didn't say anything. ;)) So, you teeth still stayed in place even though you only wore it at night? Hmm, they told me I had to wear it at least 20 hours per day... :|

Exactly. ;)
My teeth are still straight, and I haven't had any problems. :) Every orthodontist is different; one of my older sisters only had to wear hers at night from the day she got her braces off. /:)

"A common enemy unites even the oldest of foes." ('Tis that!)

"We have anxiously awaited your return, my liege."
We tend to start quoting conversations a lot. ;))

*waves to Winty*

Hello, Lady A!! :D Your post was highly amusing! You really should come by more often!

Welcome to the Square, Watziznehm! :) *checks to make sure she spelled his name right* ;)) It's always lovely to have more people join us! I hope that you enjoy it here! :D

Djaq, I've been quite well, except for a cold. How about you?

Aww, I'm sorry to hear that you have a cold! :( I've been really good, thanks! :D

Lovely post, Dennie and Betsie!! ;)) I laughed quite a lot while reading it!
Oh, I hope that you had a fun sleepover too! ;)

*laughs at the opening to Cor's post here* I love how you and Vern get along so well. ;)

How is your Grandmother doing? I hope that she is doing better now- or if not, that she will soon! I'll be praying!

She is only doing a little better if any. Thank you very much for your prayers! Hopefully, she will be better soon. :)

Ah, I see (about your novel)! Very nice! :D

How is your story going for you? :)

It's going pretty well. :) I have a fair bit to catch up on since I was gone for the weekend, but I should be able to do it. :)

It was lovely, thanks!

Oh, good! :D

I believe it would, and I believe I wouldn't like to be one. ;)
D'aww, thanks!
I indeed had tons of fun, thanks for asking! :)
How wonderful that your dad got a job!! :D

I would be the same if I were in that situation. ;)
Thank you! :D

*waves to NaiadWaker* I am sorry for not welcoming you to the Square sooner, but I accidentally left it out of my last post. Welcome! :D ;)

Quite well, I think. There have been a number of surprises, all of which were pleasant.

I am very happy to hear it!! :D You are almost finished! :D Go, Mel! Go, Mel! ;)

*loves the flambeau/Djaq post* I agree with Ruby, maybe there should be some sort of fan club for that sort of thing. B-)

There should indeed! B-) I'm glad you enjoyed it! ;)

I am so sorry to have missed KingLune's birthday! I trust that you had a great day? :D It's lovely to have you stop by!
