*bounces into the Square* Yippee! It's Saturday! Mortereve all!

Ketchup:

NN95: Ah, I know what you mean... For me, if I didn't wear my retainer, after an hour or so my mouth would feel kinda...almost empty, and then I'd wonder what was wrong, and then I'd realize I didn't have my retainer in my mouth.
Yeah, the bear cub was really cute! We looked around for the mother, but we didn't see it nearby at all...

narnianerd, you can order the Dragon Keeper books online at http://www.christianbook.com/ . Just do a search for "Dragon Keeper Chronicles" and the books will come up. :)

stardf, congratulations!!! That's fantastic! :)

*sends LL a hug* How are you?

This was a short ketchup. Anyway, yesterday my mom and I went to Cracker Barrel for lunch and then went up to the mall to shop for a while. :) We had a nice time together.

Do you guys realize that Christmas is in a like a month and a half?! :D I'm so excited...I can't wait. I've been listening to tons of Christmas music this week.

What songs could you play? This is kind of funny, we just keep going on and on about harmonicas! =))

I have been listening to a lot of Christmas music too! Especially since I am in choir. Which songs have you been listening to? I have listened to 'Believe' by Josh Groban off of the polar express, 'Carol of the Bells', 'Christmas Shoes', 'Where are you Christmas', and lots of other carols! ;)

Ooh, I know, Christmas is just around the bend! Speaking of which, I have a lot of Christmas gifts to get ready yet. :-s And I'm planning to make them, so I'd best get started. *sigh* ;)) Anyway. *should listen to some Christmas music today.*

Good Mortereve everyone! I hope you all are having a pleasant Friday thus far. :)

NG, I'm doing great. I've been deleting pictures off my cell phone which has definitely been a chore. I had 483 pictures. Now I'm down to 230. #:-s How have you been?

*waves to NN95, Narnianerd* Hello, Hullo! :)

Queen Susan, that's good. But is her name really Merie? I'm not sure I've ever heard someone's name spelt like that. ;))

A hearty hello to ~LL~! Hello! You need to come by more often. :)

Mortereve, Square Vegetables. ;)
Our family went on a little trip for about 3 days. It was fun, but now I'm really behind in school. Not to mention Nano! :-s I'll be doing lots of school today.

@Del What lovely memories you have! :) And a good mind to remember them all. ;)
What's happening in my life can sometimes really affect how much I like a book. [/random]
;)) That was funny story about what happened in your theater class. :P

I honestly cannot see why. :-

I assume it's because he's tall, dark, and handsome? ;)
But seriously, I don't know if it's because I had seen him in quite a few other movies before I watched P&P, but I never thought he got Darcy quite right (But I thought he did a good job, don't get me wrong) In all the versions I've seen, I've never really been satisfied with Darcy. But Rintoul remains the favorite. [/end of rambling]

Tea! I'm so glad you decided to drop by! And with snacks... :D ;)

@Mal Alright, I'll watch the '95 Persuasion first. ;) I ordered it from Netflix. Then I'll most likely buy it. :p

It's hard to believe it's already November! :-o This year seems to have gone by rather fast....

Ditto! Everyone I know thinks that this year has gone by really fast. Soon it will be Thanksgiving, and then Christmas, and then New Year's. :-s :p

Thanks! I really like it as well, though I'll probably be changing it soon. I should probably get something with Narnia in it.

Aww. There's nothing so heartbreaking as parting with ones avatar. ;)

That was a massive catch up post! :-o ;)

Oh, which Mr. Darcy is your favorite?

The one from the 1980's version, played by David Rintoul. :)

Poggy, I also have a love/hate relationship with my computer. It's fine, I'm sure the computer doesn't take offense. /:)

I'm sure it doesn't. ;)) But I do. ;)

Stardf! *salutes back* :) I (and other Square Onions) have been praying for you. I hope you're well!

Ooh, I know, Christmas is just around the bend!

It is! It's kinda scary. :-s :p I don't like thinking about Christmas until after Thanksgiving, though. ;))

Alright, that's it. Now I have to go write at least 10,000 words or so for Nano. But it's fun. :D Tata!

Good Mortereve all! I hope that everyone has been doing well! I have been- I have a slight cold, I think, but I should survive. We've had some snow, but unfortunately it's all melted now. Oh well! More will be coming soon enough, I dare say, and then it won't be melting soon enough for us.

*waves to Queen Susan* I've been pretty good, thanks! Busy of course! I have discovered that by sleeping in and getting up late it really throws off one's schedules! Ah well. I got most of what I needed to get done today, and to boot was able to spend some time with my horse, which was nice. Poor chap, he doesn't get as much time as he should, I think.

How are things going for you? :)

Pogginfan: Congarats on 800 posts! :) Bravo!

How is NaNo going for you? :)

I hope you will be able to get to see an adaptation of Persuasion, I hesitate in saying that for sure you will like the '95 one (simply because I know I don't like it when some people tell me that I will for sure and without a doubt love a certain book or movie, etc) but I think there is a good chance you will enjoy it. :)

Djaq: Praise the Lord for your dad's job! :D That is fantastic and so great! Has he started it yet? If so, does he enjoy it? (And if not, do you think he'll enjoy it?)

And double congarats on the soon to be twin cousins! :D

I quite enjoyed your ramble (as you called it ;) )! :) Yes, I will be sure to let you know when I've had a chance to see the adaptations (which I will hopefully do soon!).

Hehe, thanks! :D

How has your life been, aside from NaNo? :) Is your sister feeling any better?

*waves to Narnia Girl* How are things with you? I'm glad you were able to go on the bike ride with your friends (my my, that was a week ago! It's scary how time flies when one has catch up to do in the Town Square... ;) ), that sounds like it was fun! :) How did your tennis lessons go?

F2, sure, I'd be glad to let you know when we get Season 3. :)

Yay! Thanks! :D

All of the libraries around here have a poor selection of movies, and certainly no new ones! :(

That would be frustrating at times- our library has a rather small movie collection (not to mention, some time ago they got rid of many of their VHS copies of movies, so of the good ones they had there, most of them are gone now...), and most of them are all adult movies, which of course we don't even look at. They do have a few good ones- I saw they had Amazing Grace there, and one or two other family ones, but all in all there isn't many. Well, last I checked. We don't really go to our library anymore, although I suppose we should. Just to support them and all. ^_^

FF, saying that you liked the older P&P better isn't a dangerous thing to say around me since I like it very much. ;) We also watched all of the BBC version of S&S from the same era Sunday, and the family is debating which is a better adaption, that one or the '95 one. We agree that '95 has a better Brandon, but that Willoughby is better in this one. (I think that Edward is better in this one too, but people aren't agreeing with me...) And I am amazed at your NaNoWriMo word count. Again. :-o How do you do it?!

You know, I am so glad to know that I'm not alone in not just liking those adaptions but sometimes really liking them. Oh, I know they aren't for most people, but when I find someone else who really does like the, well! :)

Hehe, glad to know that it's not a dangerous thing! :D My sister and I are planning on watching that particular version of P&P shortly, I want to see if I like Mr. Darcy more than last time- I'm sure I will. :)

I saw that version of S&S as well, about the same time as we saw P&P. We liked it. :) Granted, we still think some parts of the newer adaptations are better, but the older one isn't so bad either. I actually liked the casting of Marianne. Elinor was pretty good too. :) I would agree about Willoughby as well- it took me a little bit to get used to his blonde hair, but all in all he wasn't bad. If I recall correctly, I felt in the end that I was more sorry for him then absolutly disliking him. Hmm, while I can't agree that that Edward was better than the other two "version" of his character, I did like him. :D I guess they are all about tied. :)

And I am amazed at your NaNoWriMo word count. Again. :-o How do you do it?!

Aw, thanks! Well, if you seriously want to know, I believe I'm a firm believer in having a detailed plot outline...with all the bugs and plot holes thought out. While it doesn't mean you can sail right on through it and just have to fill in the blanks, it does help with a writer's confidence. :) Er, or something like that. :) Your word count is pretty nice as well! :)

I have a good two feet of it and more. ;)) It's just lying around at present, so I'd be happy to share! I'll pack some into a freezer truck and send it your way. ;)

I think we got some of that snow the other day! :D What prompt delivery! ;) Alas, the snow melted. Hmm. >_> Oh well. :D

Re: Persuasion: I agree about Lady Dalrymple and her daughter; they seemed like too much of a caricature rather than the still ridiculous, but much more subtly funny characters Austen wrote. The only other thing I don't like about the adaptation is the portrayal of Elizabeth. I didn't think she really resembled the Elizabeth of the book; too irrational and almost too spiteful, although she is certainly meant to be catty. It just felt odd. ;)

Yes- that's the word! A caricature! I wasn't sure what the right term for that was, but it does bother me when they do that. When they make characters look, outlandish?, to me, it doesn't have that intended effect, but mostly the opposite. Mmm, yes, I can see what you mean about Elizabeth. She really wasn't that pretty, either, and was not the Elizabeth of the book supposed to be so? In a way, perhaps the Elizabeth of the 2007 adaptation was better? Still not one who exactly loves Anne, but...different in some way.

Yeah, the first time I heard them was at that concert so I couldn't say they were my BFFs either :P I definitely will, it sounds cool! I also got an iTunes gift card for my birthday today and was planning on using it for their new album "Live Life Loud" :D

Hurray! :D Have you gotten the album yet? If so, how do you like it?

@ Fanny. Glad you are doing well. :) New and exciting? Well, I spent the majority of last weekend with my grandmother, I got to see Gaslight and Psycho over the weekend and of course, on Monday I got the soundtrack to Batman Begins. :D

Sounds like you had a good time! :) I'm glad to hear that you are enjoying the soundtrack- I always like it when I come across a CD or a movie that I want in stores for a better price then what I thought it would be. :)

Miss Rosario: I hope you are feeling better soon, and that you don't get the Swine Flu. *hugs* My sister has it, we're not entirely sure how she picked it up, but I know it's been unpleasant for her. She's getting better, but still. I'll be praying, of course!

I think my weekend went well, thanks! :) How is life for you, aside from being sick?

*waves to Pebbles* How are you? I have been great, thanks! :) My writing is going pretty good, thank you! :) I've been taking it a bit slower because I thought I'd try, so it's been interesting. :)

Stardf! It's great to see you around again, even if it is just a bit of a drive by post! :)

Well! And my catch up is done for several more days. Cheers all!

aghhh! So sorry I haven't been on as of late, what a busy week its been! And for the next month it will be busy like this too :O

Wow, so many people are participating in NanNoWriMo! I wish you all luck, even you've had a week to start. I have faith that every one of you can finish!

NG, I think one of my favorites currently is Aladdin! It's so funny and cute, a real classic. I'm also very very psyched for The Princess and the Frog!!! Disney Classic Animation FTW! :D

I definitely did, Mel. I told them I was a Cowgirl Ninja Fangirl with a sword xD

Haha, well, I'm full of interesting piano stories QS. Its practically my life, besides school and friends and family. (:

FF, I think the injuries aren't too serious where he won't be able to recover, but I don't really hang around those type of people to know all the details :/
I love to look through my old drawings and artwork too! It's interesting how my concept of things have changed. Like the sky, I use to draw a blue line at the very top of the page. xD
Your challenge theorey does make sense. ;) I also think that seeing some of the challenges that others have had to go through makes me not complain as much about mine, and be very grateful for the blessings God has given me!

Djaq I love the avatar! And I'm so glad that your father was able to get a job!!

*waves to NN*

Hello there RileyTea!! Cookies and hot chocolate! You are officially my new best friend!! :D Oh, and call me Syd!

Malkah, I was never a fan of Belle's gloves either! I'm just not really a glove person. And 'flouncy' is such a funny word! xD I can understand your reasoning, but I still like her big, flouncy, and yellow dress! xD

The saying really should be love-at-first-sigh. ;))

Oh wow, I didn't even notice I did that! ;)) Very funny, thank you for pointing my mistake out and making me laugh too! Haha!

I prefer the close-friendship-turning-into-love stories; they just have an extra richness and depth to them. :)

I do too ;))

Wow narnianerd braces! Not sure if I should say congratulations or sorry, its a bit of both. But I'm glad that before you know it you're smile will be perfect, and hope that the metal in your mouth doesn't cause too much pain! You're so lucky it didn't hurt at all! and Dr. Pepper? Didn't they tell you about how soda will make your teeth rot? ;) Just kidding...I won't tell them if you share with me!!

Hi GeorgieXOXOsmile! Welcome to the Square! Call me Syd, and yes, I am pretty excited for VDT! I think this time next year I will probably be much more ecstatic though, since it will only be a month away till it is released!

Miss Rosa, sounds very fun! There aren't many arcades where I live, but there is a penny arcade in Disneyland on Main Street. I remember walking by it, but I've never gone in. :D And thank you for the compliment on my Halloween greeting! Wow, I posted that awhile ago...just goes to show how busy I've been! O.O

"waves to PELS* Hope you are doing well!

Ketchup:

GeorgieXOXO, I'm a huge Gaither Vocal Band fan, and I've been listening to their Christmas CD a ton this week. :D One of my favorite songs is "O Holy Night." It's beautiful.

Pebbles, wow, that does sound like a chore, deleting all those pictures. ;))
I've been busy...I checked out lots of books at the library, and I'm trying to read them all before they're due. I may have to renew some of them. ;))

FF, yes, we had a great time on the bike ride! It was a gorgeous day. Tennis lessons went, well, as well as can be expected for our first class. All I can say is, tennis is harder than it looks. I keep tilting my tennis racquet when I hit the ball, and the ball goes crooked... I did have fun though. I've been practicing some at home with my sister, and it's going a little better. :)
How are things with you?

Syd, I'm looking forward to the Princess and the Frog too! I saw a commercial for it and it looked funny and cute! :D

Yesterday wasn't too busy. We stopped by the mall again for a little while, but we were at home the rest of the day. I finished reading Isle of Swords by Wayne Thomas Batson for the third time. It's a great book. :D

Mortereve, all!

I have a lot of homework to do before tomorrow, so... only a quick catchup post. ;)

My sister got the part of Imogene and my other sister got the part of Gladys They fit the parts to the T as do I

Hehe... I love Gladys. "Hey! Unto you a child is born!" ;))

Well, it sounds like you had a good time, greenleaf. I don't usually have any huge celebration, either... if it's a party, I can't think of what to do with everyone. For me, it's usually just something small with close friends and family.

Four computers Queen Susan? ;)) Wow. Aww, and your dog is soo cute!! I've always wanted a dog... but my parents don't. :( *sigh*

Well, I've never had homemade apple cider, actually. It must taste delicious after all the work is done!

Yes, I do. Every day. I only read the lesson, hand out tests, and give assignments though. The thing is, I'm kind of doing it as I go too, but I never have to take the tests or read the extra material. I get by with just reading it to them, and they get the hard work.

Ah, I see. It sounds kind of fun! :)

Your post was beautiful, Miss Rosa. ;)) A sight to behold. ;)

Why, thank you. ;)) I hope to not have to make another one like it anytime soon.

Oooh, you're going to start violin lessons? How nice! (Be sure to find a good teacher... it really helps, believe me. ;)) )

Speaking of violin, I've been really troubled lately trying to decide whether or not to quit violin. I've been taking lessons for about seven years now, and have come to the point where I can play pretty well. I have a WONDERFUL teacher. It seems like a waste to throw it all away, but then again... I'm not really enjoying it. The practicing is almost too much with all my schoolwork, and I'm constantly exhausted. I don't feel like I'm improving at all, and... *shrug* I just don't know what to do. :|

Anyway. Enough of that. ;))

Ah okay, Mel. I've never seen the BBC version of Pride & Prejudice. What do you think of it overall?

And yes, the concert was wonderful! So cute... so beautiful... :)

*waves back to Pebbles* Hello! Thank you! I'm feeling much better now, and I don't think I had the swine flu. I actually got the vaccine several days ago, after waiting in line for over two hours ;)), so we'll see what happens.

Oh, that's pretty good, Narnia Girl! That's usually how I do on my math tests... miss one or two problems. English ones are usually perfect, social studies usually a high A, and science... well, they're unpredictable. ;))

That's neat that you got to see a bear! :)

*jaw drops at Rosa's post*

Yeah, I think it was a bit long. ;))

Well, actually, I take back what I said. I do have trouble keeping track of where mine is, but only because I forget to put it in when I'm done eating.

Ah, okay. ;)) That makes sense.

Just wondering if you can count... ymwhisle Just kidding. ;)) :p

Hehe... "What do the teach in school these days?!" ;))

Heh... well, we're all different.

Oh... wow, I'm slow... #-o

;)) "What do they teach in school these days?!"

Four computers and three family members? Whoa. :-o

stardf! 'Tis good to see you. :) A hearty conga-rats! You're in our thoughts and prayers. Enjoy your weekend!

*waves to Lady L* We miss you!

Aww. There's nothing so heartbreaking as parting with ones avatar. ;)

I know. :( That's why I've put off changing it for so long... ;))

That was a massive catch up post! :-o

Thanks. ;)) It took.. I can't remember exactly, but around five or six days to complete (with school and all).

I've been doing well, Fanny, and thanks for asking! I've been... catching up on the homework I missed while being sick. ;))

Aww, I hope your sister gets better soon, and that the rest of your family stays well!

Fauntastic, it was lovely. :) It wasn't any major thing... only a small, local high school hosted it. But it was fun all the same!

All right, that's all for now. I need to get started on schoolwork. Mortereve, all!

So, folks, I just figured out that I'm an idiot. (Cue the groans and I-told-you-sos.) I totally used toilet bowl cleaner instead of laundry detergent when I was washing my clothes and SHEETS at the honors center this evening! :(( X( I didn't even notice until I had them all dried and brought them back to my room. I read the back of the bottle and it said prominently, "KEEP OUT OF EYES AND CLOTHES." So now I am having to wash and dry them all over again in the dorm laundry rooms.

Hence the rare, unexpected, but not unprecedented visit to the Town Square.

Mel, I shoud use more of my free time for writing. :p

Well, NG, why don't you? Although, I suspect that you are since you have written several nice long posts here. ;)) And how is reading the dictionary going?

*waves to stardf* It's wonderful to see you again and hear that you're doing well. I've been praying for you. :)

LL

I assume it's because he's tall, dark, and handsome? ;)

Oh, is that what it is? :p I agree that he did a nice job, he just wasn't as outstanding as I expected from hearing all the raving about "Colin Firth is awesome." He wasn't Mr. Darcy like the guy they had play Mr. Collins was Mr. Collins. ;))

I felt in the end that I was more sorry for him then absolutly disliking him.

Yes, exactly. You got more the impression that he knew where he'd gone wrong and was sorry for it. I think that was more the way it was in the books. In the other movie, I got more of the impression that he was self-centered and didn't care that he'd broke Marianne's heart. He was sorry he couldn't marry her, but had an "eh, whatever" attitude about it.

Ah, yes, that six page outline you mentioned. I bet that helps tremendously. Last year when I went in with a character and a motivation and a timeline and got about 2000 words a day. This year, I started with a handful of characters and some motivations, an opening scene and a few vague ideas for the other scenes and am enjoying finding out how they all tie together. ;)) However, I'm getting close to the middle and I'm not sure what the point of those scenes are yet, or how they're going to parallel the ending. The outline helped up the word count so hopefully I have enough time to figure all that out. :)

I told them I was a Cowgirl Ninja Fangirl with a sword xD

That's cool. :D I should have told them I was a Timetraveller from an Alternate Universe. (The things I come up with after the fact...xD)

Miss Rosario, maybe you just need a short break from the violin? A little bit of time to stop and consider where you'd like to progress to? It sounds like it's been something you enjoy. And I think that if you like the story Pride & Prejudice it's definitely worth it to sit down and watch the BBC version. :)

lys, why was the toilet bowl cleaner anywhere near the washing machine? Was someone trying to clean it or something? It'll definitely make a great story when you get over the extra work. ;))
