Mortereve all! It's Friday!

Jojo, good to see you drop in. And, you've been on NarniaWeb one year? Well, conga-rats! Hope you stick many more! :)

Yes, well you are a guy. Us girls tend to be self-conscious. I do, at any rate.

Aha, I wondered if that had something to do with it. /:) Oops, not supposed to look at you strangely.

Some people are and some people are just oblivious...

Lol, yup.

Thanks! You really think we should make another account to share? Ruby suggested it, but I wasn't sure abouth the ethics...It's not like we haven't got our own accounts or anything.

I think it would be fine, but it'd have to be OKed by a mod first.

got through with school early

Just out of curiosity, how long does school take (as in, when did you get through)?

Piles and piles of homework, NN95 :P. But other than that, nothing very interesting...oh, I did see a fight today at school! That's not exactly good news, though..

Yep, I know the drill. yep, nothing interesting here either. Ooh, that's too bad there was a fight. :|

NN95, nope, not much exciting going on. I have a dentist appointment today. But that's not exciting...it's painful. :|

Aw, hope the dentist appointment goes as well as one can.

Second post of the day! Mort'reve all!

Mortereve all! I hope everyone has been having a good Friday. For the most part I have. :) Well, there's been almost nothing to make it not be a good day, so I'm happy. :)

fauntastic: Ah, I know how you feel, with the end of your school approaching. Even if it is still three or so years off, it can be something that is daunting to think about. After all, it's not long after school ends that we're considered adults, and the days of being a teenager or young person are over. More responsiblity, more choices that will probably make a much longer lasting effect, yes, it can be a scary time. :) I am just really glad that the Lord has something all planned out for me, and I hope that I'm patient enough to wait for it and when He shows it to me that I'm obedient in following it. :)

I think too that we will probably be ready for those after school days, it's amazing how much, knowledge and skills we amass, one day at a time, that lead up to that. It doesn't seem like much now, but looking back, we'll probably be able to see how it all built up and such. :)

Oh yay! :) Someone else who is doing college stuff (or pre college stuff) while still in high school- that's great! :) Your thinking was much like mine- I figured I had the time to take on the course I'm doing, so why not? It just means that there'll be less to study when I actually get there. :) I hope your pre college stuff goes well for you! :)

Narnia Girl: Good stuff about your quiz going well- that's fantastic! :) And of course about the Redwall too. ;) How is the Ranger's Apprentice book going? My cousin has read some from that series, what do you think of them?

F2, glad you guys got a new router set up successfully, and that your own computer is back! :D

Thank you! :) It is definitely nice to be back! :)

I usually get the feeling after a full day of doing lots of things that I've had to do for a while and finally was able to schedule them all in to one day, and then I don't really have anything else to do.

Aye, that's true. It is a nice feeling to get done all the "catch up", isn't it? I feel like that sometimes when I have several e-mails, PMs, and blog comments that have been waiting for several days, and when I get them all done (usually in one fell swoop) it's nice to not have anything else "hanging over my head"...for another day or two. Oh well. I haven't regretted the many friends and acquaintances I've met online, so it's worth it. :)

Oh yes, quite a bit! They talk about it often, too. :)

I'm glad to hear that your friends like Get Smart! :D (Always glad to hear that. ;) )

Oh yes, I remember that one. You could have gotten by with skipping a few scenes here and there, but there's certainly nothing wrong with skipping the episode. In fact, it's always better to stay on the safe side. :)

Ah, okay thanks! :) Perhaps I'll get my Dad to preview it at some point and see what he thinks- we started watching Season 3 last night and there was an episode that we skipped as well, something to do with a seance and contacting a supposedly dead agent, so maybe he can watch both and see. Sometimes things sound quite a bit worse then they actually are, although of course like you said it's always better to be on the safe side.

Yeah, I think they mentioned that about them wanting it to be a regular film in the introduction by Barbara Feldon. Anyway, that's interesting that there were some other similar projects that didn't go well. Yeah, it is quite a shame when a good project is scrapped. Especially if the problem is that no studio will pick it up.

Yes, I agree. I wonder if they had of made it into a film, would it of been a success? And if not, would it have affected the actual show's popularity in any way? *ponders*

Speaking of Get Smart films, have you seen the new one? I saw about the second half or the second three quarters on TV. Some parts were funny, and there were lots of references to the original series, but I wouldn't recommend it.

I have heard about the movie- funny, because I saw an interview/article about the Get Smart movie in a magazine shortly before Prince Caspian came out in theatres, and so it was through reading about the movie that we ever got to watch the show. (And of course Dad's memories of it). I haven't seen the movie yet- I wasn't sure about it. Possibly due to the rating and some of the things I've read about the content that weren't that great. I wonder if it would be possibly eventually to see it with all those questionable/objectionable parts skipped, and if it'd be worth it in the end.

Thanks! Otherwise, things are going great. How about with you?

Good! :) Things have been going pretty well here too, we've been doing quite a bit of work outside getting ready for winter, especially in the horses' area. It was previously rather muddy and not good for their feet (to stand in when they're eating at the manger), so we've been clearing that out. Mom and my sister and brother have been doing most of it, but it has been nice to see progress. (Especially because in the past, we'd always start, but get discouraged by the size of the task and soon quit). :) But yeah. Other then that....it's hard to believe the weekend is here already!

So, just out of curiosity, which method do you like better? It seems from what you said that prefer Tolkien's method. I, personally, much prefer Lewis's method of writing, because I like to imagine everything myself, and just read what goes on. Tolkien goes into so much detail, it can almost get boring because there's nothing going on, and I have to see Middle-earth the way Tolkien did.

I know you were talking to Edmund P, but I just wanted to say that I prefer Lewis' style myself as well. Every time I read LotR it does get easier to be able to enjoy it, but I found even the second or third time I read it that there was so much information at times it felt swamping. And too, I couldn't read it for long periods, because I'd start getting distracted, and I found you pretty much have to be paying attention 100% to the narrative or else you'd miss important sections. So, while it was good and whatnot, I prefer Lewis' simple and sometimes uncluttered style of writing. :)

Cor: Glad to hear all is well with you! :) Anything new and exciting for you? (Since we can't very well always be saying that our life is great and that we're glad to hear each other's lives have been well too...) I'm pretty good myself, thanks! :)

*waves to Dennie* Of course we remember you! :D

Malkah: Snow?? Can you send some up our way? :D (if you still have it, of course. If not, maybe I can take a rain check? ;) )

Being without Internet is really refreshing at times! I think it always has the potential to become more of a time-consumer than it should be, so a break helps with that, too. ;) (Although I know you didn't choose to be without it.) Glad that's working again for you, though! :)

Yes yes! Thankfully I didn't really have any obligations that were really pressing during the break (ie, say I was a moderator on some forum or something), so that really helped me be able to relax a little too. :)

@ the '95 Persausion: I did some thinking, and the only thing I can think of that I didn't like was how the Elliots' cousins, Lady Dalrymple and her daughter were portrayed. Okay, so they are only minor characters, but I just felt that I didn't like how those in charge of the production made them look gawkish and un real with make up and costume. (Much like Caroline Bingley in the '95 Pride & Prejudice. I personally found her extremely unbelieveable as an 'antagonist' because she looked, well, unreal. I prefer the more subtle Miss Bingley in the '05 P&P). But, eh, yes. That was probably one of the only things. Did you have anything you didn't really like about it?

I think I saw Hawk Nelson shirts one time that had HN is my BFF on them :p

Haha, cute! Although, I don't know if I'd want one. I haven't listened to enough Hawk Nelson to say they are my BFF...and stuff. ;) Do tell me if you get to hear that particular album and what you think of it please! :)

Queen Susan: Funny you should mention Reformation Day, I just heard of that yesterday from someone's blog. So it's another October 31st event? It sounds like a fun thing to celebrate- what sort of things do you do to remember/celebrate it? :)

*hopes Queen Susan will be able to get a NWeb shirt someday* ;)

*huge wave to JoJo* Congrats on the 1 year here on NWeb!! :) I've had such fun getting to know you! :)

WinterStar: I hope you have a chance to read North & South- it's a great book! :) Both the mini-series and the book I like equal, which is somewhat unusual because I either like the book or the mini-series better, but not with N&S. :)

Well....this it it. :) Now I can go off and contemplate re-organizing several shelves of books. *scurries off to do so* Cheers all! :)

Maybe you felt more familiar with the people you were around with at the wedding, or were more prepared.
It was only the director and me in the room, but I felt very uncomfortable and unprepared, since the tryouts were an adlib type of thing.

Usually I'm not at all nervous at Nursing Homes though.. I think I was so comfortable at my sister's wedding because I had practiced more and knew the song super-well. At the nursing home it was for a "Good Friday" service, I would have felt pretty bad if I messed up, and... I barely practiced at all. Plus, I had to sing a capella last minute because the CD didn't work. :p
Yeah, I think auditioning would be kind of awkward--at least for me. I would have no clue what to do if it was adlib... Depending. ;))

Funny you should mention Reformation Day, I just heard of that yesterday from someone's blog. So it's another October 31st event? It sounds like a fun thing to celebrate- what sort of things do you do to remember/celebrate it?

Yep. It's on the 31st, the reason being that on October 31, 1517, Martin Luther nailed his 95 theses to the church door, etc, etc.
We usually just hang out, have a huge bonfire, sing songs around the campfire or something, etc. I think the singing part is pretty fun. ;)) Though it wouldn't be if I didn't have people singing along. ;) Anyway, it's tomorrow, and I'm really looking forward to it! :D

I presume your cat is not still sitting on your lap, some four days later?

Nope, she's not. But she does like to jump up, sit down, be annoying, leave come back and repeat the process so I wouldn't be surprised if she shows up sometime while I'm writing this post. ;))

DTR, I expect I will become acclimated to this version of you in time. And thank you for the welcome, oh Vice President of the conspiracy. I have been spreading the word and did you know ww has expressed interest in joining? :D

Syd, you had a 'clockpunk' outfit last year? :D Cool! Would you mind describing it?

Fauny, The Scarlet Pimpernel musical is the one with Vive and Falcon in a Dive and Terrence Mann as Chauvlein? I like that one... Your sister's Sherlock Holmes pumpkin sounds amazing.

However, a week ago today a bit change did happen! We adopted two of the most darling little two month old boys you have ever seen in your whole life!!!!!!!! And there names are..............

Spoiler
Tiger and Oreo! Hehehehe
Yes, that is right, they are kittens! We went to the Humane Society last Friday after seeing them on the website and picked them up and they are just to darling!

Here are some links to pictures of them...

Cute little guys, indeed!

This will be my third day of having the flue...

The flu is making rounds of our local schools. Nothing horrible. Just young folks feeling awful for a few days.

Got the H1N1 vaccine a few weeks ago. Up my nose. Ick. ;)) Not seeing a lot of flu cases calling for an ambulance - not a common 911 call anyway.

My mum went to the ER last night. One her medications was working a little too well, slowing her heart rate to the point she would get dizzy and fall. That got her a stay at the hospital for a few days, and she is feeling better tonight.

“Safe?” said Mr. Beaver; “don’t you hear what Mrs. Beaver tells you? Who said anything about safe? ‘Course he isn’t safe. But he’s good. He’s the King, I tell you.”

Ketchup:

Thanks, NN95. The dentist appointment actually wasn't too bad...apparently I have a left cross-bite or something, but the dentist told me that that will be fixed when I get braces again.

FF, Ranger's Apprentice is awesome! They're really good books. :D They're full of excitement and adventure, and they're a really fun read.

Lady Lucy! So good to see you again! The pictures of your kittens are adorable! :D

Aw, hope you feel better soon, narnianerd. :(

Hmm. This seems like a short ketchup. :p

Anyway...yesterday...I forget what we did yesterday. Oh yeah, I remember now. :p My sis and I had a dentist appointment...ugh. And then we went to the bike store to look for a new bike for my sister. She found a really pretty one that's silver with purple stripes on it. :) And today - if the weather is well - we're going biking with some friends. But it's supposed to rain today...I really really hope it doesn't... *crosses fingers*

Oh, and I'm on the fifth Ranger's Apprentice book now - The Sorcerer of the North! :D It's awesome so far!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN
SQUARE ONIONS!

Or should I say Square Pumpkins?
(That was surprisingly difficult)

Well...I suppose we should get on with the ketchup?? :D

Allright, Delaney! I shall call you that now, as to not get confused with other "Fauny"s here. ;)
A Sherlock Holmes pumpkin? Sounds quite impressive! I've never been able to carve a decent pumpkin, carving just isn't my thing. But give me a paper and pencil... ;D
I wish I was able to carve pumpkins (or anything) though, it's such a cool talent!

*waves to PA* Hullo! Glad to have you back here! :D

Jane, yes, that sounds about right NG!

It was the first major fight of the schoolyear, NN95 which is pretty impressive considering I go to one of the largest High Schools in the state. They told us at the beginning of the year that if there were fights they would cut back our lunch time, so I really hope they don't cut it back too much. And it's very unfortunate, I hear that someone is in a neck brace now...Fighting is really horrible ):

FF, I hope we are able to look back and see how much knowledge we have gained after all our schooling! It's definitely going to be quite an amount. Something I really enjoy is reading the stories I wrote as a second and third grader, because they are quite interesting!
I like the College Prep courses too because they challenge me. I have to try a lot harder to study and make sure I understand the material, because we go through it more quickly. I complain about it, but in the long run its good practice, I think. ;)

QS, I think we do better the more we practice. For instance, last spring I entered in a piano competition that I had prepared for months for, and the attitude I had going into it was "Well, I have only messed up a few times recently, so that's the worst I can expect to do". Amazingly, I won the competition! I was thoroughly shocked, because I had always entered in it for the feedback, since the judges will write on what needs improvement. But I also got $75 for winning!
A month later, I entered in another contest, but because I was so focused on the first one (which was much more difficult and was much more competitive) I hardly tried as well as I did the first time. ;))
The adlib audition taught me something very valuable, actually. I learned that I'm better behind the scenes, not on stage. I love it so much more helping out and being in charge, and actually being able to see the final product instead of having to be IN it! :D

haha, I'd love to Mel. I wore a cowgirl hat, a Miley Cyrus concert T-shirt, leggings, pajama bottoms, converse, and carried a sword. xD I hope that fits your definition of 'clockpunk'!

What adorable kittens, Lady Lucy! When I was younger, we tried countless times to get my parents to allow us to get kittens. :D

Get better narnianerd! I would wish you cozy slippers, but what about moccasins instead? ;) I recently purchased those, and boy are they comfy and warm and amazing!

I hope everyone has a safe night tonight and doesn't get too sick on so much candy! Oh, and save anything chocolate for me please! ;))

Howdy all! I hope you all have not devoured too much sugar tonight... but who am I to say that? I'm chewing gum bigger than a pumpkin.

Tonight, instead of doing as most do on this certain day, I went to my church to help out with a kid festival... I was in control of one game. Interesting, indeed. One kid came up and decided to take over whilst I was gone with one of my friends. When I reappeard I quickly grabbed the box of candy. He said frustratingly, "Hey! I know how to play this game." Obviously he meant he wanted to be in control, right? I looked at him and said, "Well, that's good." And sat down in the chair. He glared at me for a moment and ran off. Ahhhh, little children do know how to aggrivate, now don't they?

Only three posts since yesterday. Weekends are always slow.

Lol, eusy I had a bad dream last night too. :p It was really weird.

Syd, what other Disney movies do you like?
Oh, and that really is a SquarePumpkin that you posted...

Pebbles! Great to see you again. :) Ah, yes. Little children can be aggravating. :p ;))

Ketchup is done...took me about five minutes. :p Anyway, we got to go on our bike ride yesterday with our friends! :D It was a bit cloudy and overcast when we got there, but it was still a breezy and nice day out. I had a little accident while riding, though. :( The chain on my bike had somehow got broken without my knowing it, and it caused me to fall off my bike. I scraped my elbow and knees, but it wasn't very bad compared to some accidents I've had on my bike. :p My friend's dad fixed the chain on my bike and I was able to ride again. In the end, we rode for two hours until we started feeling drops of rain...then we had to go home. But we still had a good day. :)

Syd, that works. Did you get any questions as to 'Who are you supposed to be?' :)) I did. I wore a black turtle neck, black skirt, a red medieval-ish bodice, and a red skirt looped up. And red and black striped socks and the telephone necklace. I didn't bother to explain. After all, I was dressed up and I looked cool and I could move stuff around. What more did they want?

Hi, Pebbles! Don't go so soon. :p What kind of game was it?
