Oh dear. I had a few pages on the old forum I didn't get to... and now 4 new ones here, and what do you know? It's my bedtime.
I'm excited to get used to the new forum though... This is the first I've seen it!
Hello everyone, hope you're all doing well! I'll have to drop by tomorrow or later on... Get used to it a bit more!!
Anyways... The past 2 days or so my best friend has been over... Haven't had her over for a LONG time... But now I did. And it was awesome. Friendship is such a gift...
Talk to you all later!

A Look at Originality: The History of Darth Devaricate
by: Darth Devaricate (with help from Shieldmaiden)
On a crisp fall morning many years ago, a baby cried…and so began the life of Darth Devaricate. She grew up an only child, prone to using her imagination at all times of the day. Darth, but she was not Darth at the time—she had not taken on her villainous qualities, enjoyed the simple things in life. In the summer, she would play outside like the normal children in the neighborhood. She hated television, watching only Reading Rainbow, Mister Rodger’s Neighborhood, and the Andy Griffith Show.
School began and “Darth” discovered the wonderful world of books. Her favorite subjects soon grew to be history and English. This dream world continued until one fall day in high school English, when it came crashing down. After reading many papers and answers to tests from other students, she suddenly discovered that they liked to repeat themselves! They “Ditto”ed one another! Then she noticed this was the same in other areas of life; everyone conformed to everyone else’s beliefs. Darth Devaricate was very sad for several days after learning this.
Darth Devaricate then made up her mind. (And when she makes up her mind, she makes it up to stay. Period.) She would fight this conformity, this “ditto”ing! She would do her small bit to help the originality and creativity of people stay alive! It was difficult with many people getting upset at her along the way. Darth never gave up her quest to eradicate this sameness, this “not thinking for oneself,” though the task was not always easy. Then one day she found the narniaweb…
At first Darth Devaricate was enthralled with Narniaweb. All the posters cared about all her favorite books! She enjoyed her stay til one day she heard a “ditto”! No! They cannot be dittoing here, too! Darth was stunned when suddenly a “ditto club” was formed! No! This could not happen to her favorite forum. Darth Devaricate began to wonder how she could correct this problem. That was when she began to terrorize the dittopians. They wanted to “ditto”? Alright! Let them, but Darth would be there to counteract it! Muhahahaha. <
Darth Devaricate then trained an evil hamster army ( ) to carry out some of her attacks. They were able to relay messages, carry food and weapons, post fliers, and otherwise terrorize the town. She taught them to understand human speech and soon they became her spies. Next, they entered into battle against Ditto Kitty and her army of cats. After 3 days, the battles ended in a draw with both sides falling back to evaluate their losses and develops new tactics.
After a few weeks of bring death to dittos, Darth Devaricate allowed herself to be captured. This would fit into her scheme, allowing her to survey the town closely and plan her next move. What is her next move? Muhahaha! <
*drags into the square, weary and not very fresh*
*yawn* Herro all, whoever may be here! Guess what?! I'm back! hehe
Aiden: MANY thanks. I got it! {see below } I will remember that, and be smarter in the future.
Cor: Well HEEEY! Way to make a body feel welcome! *hugs back* It's simply fantasid and splendic to be here again....I must be going for a record...this will be *gasp* 5 posts in one day! "Thou shalt hear me say SQUEE" Oh, and yes, we do, but...as you say, oh well. It's nice to run into each other "in town". lol
Anyway, how doth thy day progress? Well, I do dearly hope. My best to you and the royal family!
Now, I just have to say something here...I just saw this, and assume it was from an older Square, in which case, I missed it.
The singing Flambeau, Howdy! Aye, I know what you're sayin'. Life without my Lissa would be no life at all! Even I might consider dying then! Heh heh.
[Warning: SAP ALERT. Pragmatic souls beware]
Awwww!! Jojo! You're so stinking sweet. I love you! I would hate having to do life without you. It would not be possible. I hope when we die, we die together. But we probably will. Most likely we'll die laughing...at each other! <-- U <-- Me
Um, let's see, where was I? Oh, Hi FF!!! Thanks! Nice to be back among some of my favorite peeps. I'm just sure you and I've been introduced, haven't we?? Anyway, call me Lissa!
King Lune: Ah, yes, thank you. All rights reserved.
I just got a call from my older brother (who lives on his own now), reporting on his night of salsa dancing. He'd never been before, but his church young people's group is planning to do it every week...lessons and dancing. I am SOOOO jealous!! I love to dance, and would love to learn the salsa better (had bits and pieces). I'm sad we don't live closer!!! *wails* He said it was incredible fun.....which is helping.. *sigh. decides to stop ranting*
Well, I'm rawthuh tired from cleaning tonight. I runned out of steam awhile ago.....methinks an early bed might just be my cup of tea...now an early bed WITH a cup of tea would just be the cat's pajamas. Maybe an early bed with a cup of tea IN my cat's pajamas, er, in MY pajamas, would be right down my lane. Or maybe an early bed with a cup of tea in my pajamas LISTENING to "Lullaby Lane"....
*ahem*
Yes, it is DEFINITELY bedtime. Good night all, "and have dreams of crocuses in fresh dewy fields, and large trees to climb upon"
Ciao! ~Lissa-de-do-da~

Ah, gardening after dark...I did enjoy myself, though, and got to dance on the lawn in the dark with only the moonlight (well, that and our neighbor's glaring Klieg light) watching.
I promise I washed my hands before I touched the keyboard.
* waves at NarniaNut * Greetings!
*walks up behind Lady Arwen and says "BOO!"* ( By the way, that is an adorable smiley.)
* screams and retreats out of the Town Square to the safety of the Cavern Tavern, Fountain, Mansion, Library and Inn Between *
No fair scaring poor lil ol' me.
And thanks. I didn't know that smilie was here until I was searching for a different one-- the one.
yesterday when I went to the State Fair. The fair was good, and we ate interesting food. Pizza-on-a-stick, egg rolls, and lefse.
Lefse? What is that? it sounds interesting, that's for sure. I'm missing our state fair right now, but that can't be helped.
Aye, I know how you feel. Has it been four years already? Now I'm trying to remember if you were a member of NWeb before I was, lol. *purposes to check join dates uno momento.*
I think I joined in the fall of 05. You joined in the spring. Remember Alatariel? She's the one who first introduced me to NWeb--we were having a discussion about costumes, and when we came to a disagreement, she pulled Nweb and the Wardrobe Door up as her sources proving she was right. I actually spent about three weeks lurking in the Costumes section before I finally gave up and joined.
I used to be pretty active in the Town Square for a brief period of time, but then it got too fast with too many people. Now that we're starting from scratch, I figure this is as good of a time as any to try and see if I can take the plunge again.
Same here. If there is any time to do it, now is that time.
Yeah, as I recall you weren't exactly a Disney person, except for, oh, what was it, HSM? I prefer the classy type of Disney music. Just kidding, dear! I'm excited because in this tape-to-computer transfer, I've also got Riverdance and a bunch of Broadway tunes transferred too.
Yeah, I'm really not a disney person, I'm a soundtrack person. lol, you sound like one of my "little brothers," who was deriding me for having a few HSM songs on my iPod and only one Linkin Park. What can I say? My regular music doesn't have words.
Oo, Riverdance! Be-a-u-tiful. You might consider Lord of the Dance, too, but just the soundtrack--not worth watching, IMHO.
I did buy a few tracks the other day--A River Flows In You (no words), Falling Slowly (words) and Breakable (more words! For not having that much music without words.... ).
Hi, F2! I think we've stumbled across each other's paths elsewhere on the forum, but it is good to see you here in the town square, and it is very nice to officially meet you.
*tips his hat to lady A*
*tips his hat to Lady Arwen*
* curtsies in return *
Aye, there used to be a day when only ceppault would do that...he's the first person I ever met in the Town Square, and I remember reading back the next day to see that he had worried that I had disappeared because I got scared when too many people had too joyously introduced themselves.
The very first Ditto Story EVER! By Earel Alquawen
And, pray, why is Earel not posting that?
* considers referring starkat over to the Fountain, but decides not to and settles in for a really nice long set of stories *
Avatar thanks to AITB
I'm the Ditto Story Archivist. I have a very long list of old Ditto threads and various ditto postings.
Edit: The reason I am posting these here instead of the Fountain is because I did not write most of these (I think I wrote about 2 of them) and they are a part of Ditto Town History. These are the only short stories that we ever did. I have a tradition of posting these in the start of new Town Squares.
Speaking of which...
The History of the Ditto Rider:
Hi! Allow me to introduce myself… I am the Ditto Club Rider. Also known as Starkat, Kat for short. I thought that I would give you a little of my backstory.
I began riding horses at a young age. My teachers told me that I was a good rider and recommended that I take up archery. I took up archery and developed a good eye and a steady hand. I rarely missed. I also had an annoying habit of saying ditto when I agreed with something and even when I didn’t.
I was raised in a city, but had the heart of a country girl, so I decided to pack my bags and travel. On my travels I began wearing colors that allowed me to blend with my surroundings. I also began defending and helping those in need.
On a brief stopover, I stopped in at the Narnia Web forum and decided to look around. I noticed that there were some things I could add, so I stabled my horse, Star, and decided to hang my hat. Visiting the various areas of the forum, I noticed that there was an area called The Ditto Club in the small town of Ditto. Venturing into this club, I found that I felt like I belonged there and there was a need for my skills and decided to join.
Being a bit of a loner I began riding my horse around the outskirts of town and noticed that an evildoer had begun to terrorize the town through the elimination of the word ditto! I decided to give the sheriff a hand against the evil one. I bought arrows that sprayed the word ditto over my targets and headed out on patrol.
So remember: The Ditto Rider is on Patrol
Dittos Away!!

Mortereve all! How is everyone this wonderful evening?
@ Lissa. Quite welcomed, my lady. Yep, I think this is a new record for you. A good thing, IMO. A very good thing.
My day has been most grand! Got to listen to "Alien" this afternoon and then we went to Roma's for supper. Overall it has been a most excellent day.
I hope you have a very pleasant nights sleep, Lissa. Sleep tight!

NN, I distinctly remember you saying that you'd been working on a catchup post for a rather long time, but searching for posts you made containing the word 'week' didn't pull up the exact post, though I think I got very close before I had to go do other things. So maybe you didn't work on a post for a whole week.
I guess I missed the beginning of the conversation, but I'd say that the BBC did a stellar job with their adaption of LWW and PC. Sure, my ideal versions of those movies would involve a mish-mash of BBC, Walden, and Radio Theatre, but...
Hmm, well I don't recall ever working on a post for a week. In fact, I don't recall ever working on a post even for a whole day. But I may have forgotten, I suppose.
But, they're very low quality-wise, right? I've never seen them, so I wouldn't know.
Aiden Aw, thanks! $16.00 is pretty good for a TV season, isn't it? I bought Season 2 from Amazon.ca, and then later found it in Wal-Mart for the same price. Oh well, it wasn't a big loss or anything. I was surprised our nearest Wal-Mart would have it, I guess. Usually they don't seem to have shows like that unless they're quite new releases.
Yes, it is! They're usually about $30, right? Ah yes, I know what you mean. I don't know if our Walmart has any TV shows.
Lol, we get "looks" if we use the term, we sometimes get looks .
Yeah it was weird.. and upsetting especially if I was doing something on there.
Yeah, well, that's understandable!
Huh. Well I suppose I'm partly to blame for anything Bella did on your computer.
It would... ANd it'd have good books on there too *mutters something about her library not having the best selection of books*
It most certainly would! Lol, I don't think my library has many books that'd be worth reading.
My computer is being really slow.
I just felt kinda of lost so I went to the place were it is impossible for me to be lost
Aw, that definitely characterizes the Square!
Good to see you stop by, KingLune!
@ NN. I like both, though I'm more fond of these since they have more expressions.
Yeah, it's true that there are more of these. However, it seems like the old ones express feelings more accurately. (That doesn't make much sense, does it?) Also, the other ones just looked nicer and more 3D.
*waves to kat* Good ditto history!
*waves to Queen Susan*
Aiden: MANY thanks. I got it! {see below } I will remember that, and be smarter in the future.
Glad to see it's working!

Lady A, in case you don't figure this out before anyone else tells you, you need to write the quote tags differently now. Like so: [code=PHP][quote="whom you're quoting"]text youre quoting[/quote]

Why, thank you! And greetings to you, too!
Grr, each time I'm about to post this, more people post. This is like the 5th it's happened just within this post.

THE LIFE STORY OF THE DITTO CLUB "ABSOLUTELY!" MAN
As Authorized By Himself
The "Absolutely!" man was born in Ithica, New York, to two seemingly normal parents. He has always had a strange desire to return there by a long and arduous sea voyage, but that's another story. He became a devout Christian at the tender age of six (long after his family had moved to Ditto Town), and from then on his primary interest was in the workings of the human soul and heart. He also had a fascination with flowers, starting with the day he was shown the "Dandylion family sliding down your arm" trick. After graduating Magna Cum Laude from... erm... a prestigious university, the Ditto Club "Absolutely" man entered seminary with the intention of becoming the town minister. While there, however, he realised that Christianity, while obviously correct, didn't contain as many acronymic rules using flowers as he would have liked (he was NOT satisfied with the occasional "T.U.L.I.P." or "D.A.I.S.Y."). So he decided to come up with a bunch of them that, while not actually religious, would be helpful to the townsfolk in realising his dream of complete fraternal love on earth. The first tenet he came up with was F.L.O.W.E.R.-- Functional Love Owners Will Enforce Revolution, which constitutes the Tule of Universal Pursuit for Brotherhood. From that day on, he has been working hard to rectify the foolish lives of everyone who he sees ignoring these obvious universal rules, whether they like it or not. Criminals such as Darth Devaricate are his favorite targets, as they obviously have the most to learn about being nice people and displaying brotherly love. Now recognized as the town guru, although he will not be one for around 90 more posts, the "Absolutely!" man loves to encourage, support, and above all, enflorify those around him. (He also loves making up new words.) Every once in a while, he sends out pamphlets such as these to remind people of who he is and what he does. The "Absolutely!" man has just read DD's life story, and he feels great emotion swelling to fill his tender heart. He must tell her about H.Y.A.C.I.N.T.H. and N.I.G.H.T.S.H.A.D.E.! He finishes the article, and then
Here the article ends. The townsfolk shake their heads and move on, while a scream of panic echos from DD's cell...
The Official Biography of The Sheriff of Ditto
by The Sheriff of Ditto
As a young boy, growing up in Ditto, I remember always playing cops and robbers. I had day-dreams of being Andy Taylor one day. One day while vactioning in Oklahoma City I visited the Cowboy Hall of Fame. My mother bought me a a pretend sheriff badge. And I must say it was a perfect fit.
In my teens I served as crossing guard for a local elementary.
Right out of high school i went strait into the military and quickly rose in rank to the eventual status or 5 star general.
Now in my elder years i have retired to a smaller post in support of the town that I grew up in. In order to be able to spend more time fishing.
Once upon a time there was a cat. Her name was Ditto Cat. She was a great cat among all other cats. DC spent most of her day chasing mice and moths and anything that moved. One day she gave birth to a litter of kittens. One kitten (myself) was called Ditto kitty. DK was a manx cat (meaning no tail) and calico in color. DK was always getting into trouble by picking on things that were bigger and fiercer than her. So as punishment, she was sent to Ditto Town where she happily resides.
Making mischief is still one of the highlights of her day, so if there is trouble to be caused, it will be caused.
PS Can be bribed with mice, butterflies, catnip, and especially evil hampsters.
PPS Only says ditto when inclined to.
Hey Bennett! So, how are things going with you? Get any new soundtracks lately?
I keep forgetting about the new features that show who's online—the "online" banners (one of the coolest new features) and the "users browsing this forum" thing at the bottom of the page.

That's my last "historical" post of the night. I have one more short story, but I don't want to format it tonight. Hope you guys enjoy catching up on how the Ditto Story got started.
Dittos to all and to all a good night!
I'm sorry, starkat, I didn't mean to be rude. Just teasing, promise.
Ditto Town History is great, Starkat. I really should be saving some of these to make sure that the Records of Esteë have a copy--I'd hate for my elves to be missing something important (translation: I don't want to miss anything. )

I am curious, Prince C. Who is your mother? And, thank you for your hat tip! It makes me feel very much a lady. So many people don't care for "auld fashioned" ways any more....
Ooo, the hungry hordes just returned from the grocery store, and the brought sweets with them! Thus, as I abandoned you earlier for the hobbit-ey joys of good clean earth and plants, I am abandoning you again for another hobbit favorite: food!

Night starkat. Thanks for posting all that ditto history, that's always fun to read!
Yeah, I forgot that, NN, but I have edited. Thanks for the reminder!!!
Yeah, it can be hard to remember. Fortunately, I was told about that code change before the forum switch. Otherwise, I would have totally been lost.
EDIT to Bennett below:
@ NN. I'm doing well, thanks. Nicely full after eating a wonderful dinner of grilled salmon tonight. So far, "The Fly/The Fly II" and "Alien" are my only recent purchases.
Glad to hear it! Mmm, grilled salmon, eh?
I've heard of both of those for sure. I want to say that Jerry Goldsmith wrote The Fly, but that's probably wrong. Not a clue who wrote Alien.
Even though I don't have a large collection of soundtracks myself, I like to know who's written what. As you can see above, I don't know too well.
