I wonder if people in other parts of the world are as obsessed about American accents as we seem to be about British, Australian accents, et al.
A family came to the pool today, and the father (wearing swimming trunks decorated with the British flag) asked, "Could I bring my dawww-tuhhh down with me?" I said, "No, sir," but as one of my coworkers observed, one almost wants to say, "Now, suh" instead.
So many weird things I notice while lifeguarding. Doesn't help that people seem to regard you as merely part of the scenery, not an actual, living, breathing person whom one doesn't want to hear certain things. People will discuss anything and everything right in front of me. It's quite disgusting sometimes.
I've worked ~7 hours for four days straight now, and I'm exhausted. Sooooo happy I have tomorrow and Monday off.
Well, I think I'm off for the evening now! May go upstairs to listen to some music and finish up a review. Or I may just drift off....

Hullo Everyone!
*sends a wave to ValientArcher* And how is our fine Archer today?
yep it felt like you were gone a while .
tired. You?
Doing good
Ugh I HATE the movie ! It's unbearable for me to watch at all. There are very few good parts.
..... Yes I will admit a few good parts... precious few .
good!
Just finished Prince Caspian and now I'm waiting for Voyage of the dawn to come in....
if you ever come, I can make it .
That would be nice
what's that for?
*rolls eyes* Why did you have to ask that? Now I have to go back and check!
*comes back* Hmm not really sure
3 's in a row
That is probably my most used NW smilie... Yours is... Well you know...
not anymore, but I was really worried for a while- the only reason I don't like having friends on the internet. I mean, if something happened to you, how would I know? One time Kat was gone for two weeks and I was really worried, but she was only on vacation. It's just, most of my best friends are on the internet, so I just get easily freaked out I guess when I lose contact for a while...
Yeah that is one thing I think about some times: "If I died how would they know hat happened to me?"
no I mean that you should have!
oh come on! Stop making me feel bad .
Hehe
Yes Mum (<--- LWW Movie quote )
well I never get them from you!
*thinks* I guess but the only time I got them from you you rolled your eyes afterward... BTW Is going to send a PM if he can get the chance after he is done catching up...
what you don't trust me?! *mock suprise*
Well...
excuses .
Good ones too!
on that happy note...
TTFN
Haha!
Like Aslan... it's really annoying, because his voice sounds really like the voice of the Witch King in these LOTR radio dramas I used to listen to all the time. I looked it up and it's not the same person, but I can't get it out of my head and now Aslan sounds.. evil.
Ehh that must not be nice...
My sister and I can't even watch it seriously anymore. Whenever we put it on, we talk all the way through about what we dislike and what we think should have been changed. It's actually quite fun.
Every time I think about it it makes me more mad at the movie! *GRRRRR!* *grists teeth*
There are a few weird voices Now That I'm reading the books again I'm starting to not like them as much

ugh why does everyone but me not like Aslan?! I love it! Better than Liam Neeson's version...
My sister says "I just get used to it" And one of my brothers likes it. WHAT HOW COULD YOU SAY THAT!
Yeah, critics can be obnoxious. A couple of my friends said it wasn't that bad of a movie, too.
Yeah!
I'm glad I was expecting really bad otherwise I would have been really mad.
I don't think they're the only reason. The episodes are all still exciting. There was a couple really good ones. Mhm, Guy kinda goes through a character change in season 3. I'm such a softie for dynamic characters.
Haha
@ Ben. To our yearly working vacation in Nashville, TN.
@ Ben. Well.... on the 18th I was at my grandmothers and the queen and king were at home slugging out the heat.
Oh cool
Is that addressed to me? Because I don't remember writing that... Or is there another Ben I'm not aware of?
Alright need to be off!

Good evening everyone. I hope that ya'll are doing well, and that the majority of you are in bed as it is getting late.
*tries to remember all the he wanted to reply to*
First of all, congratulations PC on enrolling at your CC. I hope that the Fall semester goes smashingly. Hmm...perhaps with Vern around that may not be a good thing. I hope that it goes rather smoothly..better I think.😀
Also, I am glad to hear that ya'lls AC is now up and running. As hot as it has been lately, I don't think I could have done too well without the AC to cool off in periodically.
Hey Valia! Well, now that you mention it, my hunting will be very limited compared to what I would normally get to do.
I will probably have one opportunity to dove hunt, and one main week to deer hunt. During Spring semester, I don't know if I'll be able to Turkey hunt at all yet, that will be determined at a later date.
*waves to Lys*
Josh Turner's songs are usually very good. He has an awesome and rich bass voice.
"Would You go with Me," "Long Black Train," "Why Don't We Just Dance": they are all good.
Alright, I am off until tomorrow. I hope that ya'll have a great mortereve. Sleep well. God Bless.

I think spring semester ends the first week or two of May. How does y'alls compare?
I believe I get out at the very end of May---or else the first weekend of June.
And yes, I had a wonderful time at the beach! The water's been unusually warm lately.
Ahh, I see Winter. Glad it wasn't anything serious.
*waves cheerily to Queen Susan*
I think we have Two Lefts Don't Make A Right, Glenstorm (if that's the right title). I can't remember ever listening to it though.
It's lovely to see you again, Valia! Enjoy your few weeks of "summer".
I've never actually thought about who my favorite character is. I really like the giant, whose name escapes me. I can't really decide, either, though. Too many good ones!
Fezzik? ("Anybody want a peanut?") Yes, he's a good one. Of course I like Westley... and Indigo... but everyone is so hilarious.

Mortereve, all!
Gah, life swallowed me whole. So much for staying caught up in here more frequently then once a month. Let's see, my last post was on July 12 and eleven pages ago. Not too bad.
As for me, not much to report. Dad had a heart attack, very minor and he's doing fine now, but a fun scare there. I bought my college textbooks. The nursing 2,000 page one looks fun. I'm waiting for my scrubs (or, uniform as the nursing department calls them) to come in; they need to have my college's name on them, so that's why I'm waiting for that to finish up. I've decided that working with kids all summer has made me rather crazy. I get a lot of laughs out of the classes though. I've also started watching Avatar:The Last Airbender, thanks to Valia. Hmmm, that's my best sum-up of the past while.
*begins to trudge through the posts*
*waves to Gazer*
So much for summer meaning more time on the internet.. I'm actually finding.. that I can survive without the internet
*gasp* How is this possible? You can sur- sur- survive without the internet?! *is in shock*
Oh, and I absolutely love your avatar. That scene is going to be so beautiful..
I love it too. It just looks so perfect! Well, expect for Caspian being in the boat, but I'm choosing to ignore that for now.

Then we postI think it'd be targeted at a very niche market. (I think that's a combo of the teeth riddle and the Square is actually a garden.)
But, there's still a market. Also, dare I ask, what is the "teeth riddle"?
My signature is from Dear Enemy by Jean Webster. That's the sequel or companion volume to Daddy Long Legs.
I've heard of these, vaguely. Would you recommend them?
I've decided I could save so much more money if the books I wanted to read were at the library. I admit, I like odd books - and they have all of the most popular, usually. But *sigh*
Not fun. My problem isn't that my library doesn't have the books I like so much as that visiting used shops and finding a book I'd like to read causes my shelves to overflow and my pockets to empty quite quickly.
[quote="The starving gal":2tdfny6s]It's nice to see such rainbowesque responses in Town Square. It makes me want candy.
Well, we do have a chocolate tree here.
Bella, Ella's learning to drive? Errm, I mean, I'm sure she's gonna do well. And, tell her we'd like to see her in here again!
And looky-look! There's Lady L with her gorgeous "rainbowesque" (to borrow Cymru's pretty phrase) post. A familiar, fond sight. How is the "Brielle"-lover doing?
Still loving "Brielle."
*Paul T and Gorse take up a bench in Town Square, quietly sipping green tea flavored with pomegranate*
A new flavor, Gorse? Shocking!
I still feel she watches me while I sleep, plotting my destruction by the thousand fleas on a flying squirrel.
Sure. . .
We picked #3: we're making it into a length/lap pool (since we all love swimming for exercise), then we're having a deep end (the existing one) off to one side. It will look something like this. 'Tis a full summer project though. Whew! It'll be 43 feet long and 6 feet wide, when complete. Then the deep end sticking off to the side add more width in that one spot.
That sounds lovely. Are you still working on it, or have you gotten to enjoy it a bit this summer?
Well, they have tried at times. I just haven't yet succumbed. Thanks for the suggestion!
Perhaps we have a new conspiracy? Of course, if it's to be a conspiracy, I probably shouldn't tell you. . .
*admires L_L's dedication and attentiveness to so many posts and her beautifully-coloured one in response*
It's really just called having a lazy Sunday afternoon/evening. But, I'll take dedication and attentiveness.
Lady Liln of the colorful posts is here!!
That 'tis a new name for me. I'm doing pretty well, just watching summer slip through the calendar, slowly escaping me as the college shackles begin to reappear.
*waves to Libby*
Oooh! And I love the color you picked for me!
*LL is glad she made a list from last time*
Oooh! And you've got some lovely finds from your booksale!
So...our internet service decided to go completely bonkers for a week and not work at all. Which means, our home has had no internet for a week! It didn't really matter that much, me being busy all last week and all, but still, it was very, very aggravating.
*gives Ruby a hug* Not fun, not fun at all. Hope you can get it straightened out.
The moral of this story, my children, is this: not even sickness can override the Epic One's Epicness.
Yay for a smooth rescue! *makes note of the fact that illnesses cannot deter the Epic One and adds to her folder for ways to find Epicness*
Never heard of either band or person until mentioned in this post. Now Sky Sailing is showing up on my iTunes. Conspiracy?
Possibly. Or, the fact that his album had just hit iTunes exclusively right around that time. I'm not sure what you're musical tastes are, so I can's say if you'd like it or not.
I hate the pressure you get though, about what you're going to do. Everyone always asks what I want to do in colllege and I really have no idea. It's kinda hard too b/c my younger sister already has all these plans and ideas and I, the older one, is totally lost . Oh well, God will lead me where I'm supposed to go sometime .
I took my whole first year in college before I was really sure about going into nursing. My closest brother has always been pretty sure of what he wants to do, so I know where you're coming from. It can be hard, but you will figure it out eventually. Enjoy the time you have now to explore your interests, it goes by fast.
I LOVE Sky Sailing! I can't wait until the CD comes out !
What are some of your favorite tracks?
I'm not really new but I like blue. Any shade. Pink isn't really my style .
Yeah, new probably wasn't the best word, but I haven't really updated my list since we switched from the old forum, so that's why I'm trying to get a new list going. *mutters to self, blue for Ali. . . *
*waves to Ben*
*hugs Anna*
*notices how part of this Sky Sailing song sounds so similar to a part in Fireflies *
That would be "A Little Opera Goes a Long Way" correct?
Cep, George looks sweet. I am correct in understanding that she's a she with a he name? (Also, I didn't know rabbits eat bagels. . . )
*waves to Aiden*
*comes bouncing into the Square waving to everyone and carrying a plate of chocolate chip cookies* There are plenty for everyone!
*wonders if they're still fresh*
Well, allow me to inform you of the pronunciation...The 'd' is silent, the 'j' is pronounced like a 'y', and the 'q' is, obviously, said like 'sh'. I hope that clears it all up.
(disclaimer: I'm totally kidding. )
Wow, I've been saying it wrong all this time!
You're not the only one here who likes Sky Sailing. I still haven't listened to all of the songs, but I really like what I have heard.
How bout now? Have you heard it all now?
*is starting to run out of time, so I must skim*
@ LL. Yes, you have elegantly averted hurting my feeling by quoting me. *pauses* How was that for a long statement?
Well, you didn't banish me (seeing as I'm a fairy tale from your land, you might ), so I'm infinitely grateful.
*Lets! We'll have to wait for a time when Cor is not expecting it, though....*
*LL sneaks up behind Cor, she waits for Cor to get close enough to the fountain, which he's trying to use as a mirror to come his hair; LL gives Vern the signal and Cor lands in the fountain* How did we start this again?
*splashes back at the Water Aficionado* Two can play at this game!
*giggles* Splashes? That's all? *finds a pile of water balloons (from Kathy?) and begins tossing some at Cor*
Rose, the Joshua Bell concert sounds perfectly lovely. And, you got to meet him? That's wonderful! (I also discovered that one of the Josh Groban songs I like has Joshua Bell playing the amazing violin in it, so that was one of my "wow, cool" moments ).
*waves to Poggy*
What a question! As you may imagine, I have always been Epic by nature
*adds this to the Epic files*
Mel, thanks for digging up the original Epic conversation. Good times.
*waves to AJ* It's lovely to meet you (again). I remember you from way back in the PC's-coming-and-it's-turning-out-to-be-a-big-ball-of-flaming-horrible-adaptations when I lurked around the forums. Don't recall ever meeting you before your return though. Hope you stick around the Square!
*waves to QS*
Seriously, I wish I were always as witty as I seem to have been that evening. *realizes that his front is slipping Epically* I mean, indeed, my good friends, my powers of Elocution and General Cleverness never flag. Because, of course, Epic people are also Maddeningly Consistent. *
* This paragraph might lead you to believe that there are other Epic People in the world. I am not aware of them, I am afraid to say, and am sorry if I misled you all.
*thinks the Epicness of the Epic One is going to his head* Love your signature, by the way.
Attolia. Hm. I looked in four libraries, and they didn't have them. (With the exception of one, who carried The Thief--which was currently checked out.) I really do want to read them. Almost everyone has such good recommendations! Hopefully I'll find them somewhere... and soon.
That's really, really depressing. Hope you get to read them soon. (Also, please don't let me be building up your expectations, that's probably the worst thing to bring into any book )
You still amaze me, especially with remembering each person's own color.
*whispers* I use a cheat sheet now.
Lys (always wondered if that's pronounced "Lice" or "Lies")
I still think "Liz" with that spelling. That's why I switched to calling him "Ly" (which is pronounced like "lye" so I'm not sure that gets much better).
First of all, who/what is Sky Sailing? I'm a little confused. Is it/he awesome, and if so, someone recommend me some songs. I need new music.
I'm thinking you already got an answer, but I'm gonna interject anyways. Sky Sailing is a project of Adam Young's, the guy behind Owl City which created the hit "Fireflies." Whereas Owl City's sound is more of a suger-y electronic pop, Sky Sailing is a more acoustic guitar and piano driven sound. The songs are still sweet, but not too the point of needing "Dental Care" from Ocean Eyes. Sky Sailing has just released the first album An Airplane Carried me to Bed. The songs are all lovely, I'd suggest checking out "Brielle" and "Sailboats." You can give four of the tracks a listen on Sky Sailing's MySpace. [/infomercial]
Starkat, I've heard of that plant before. Cannot understand the fascination of it, what with that smell.
*has a lovely giggling fit at The Ruby and Winter Hour of Pure Nonsense and Square Fun*
KK, very glad you follow Jo's orders! It's wonderful to see you in here again! And, wow, you're starting college this fall? Lots of Onions seem to be.
*hugs Winty and tells her she needs to stick around*
*Looks around for the inspiration fairy* Sadly, she seems absent.
Well, she's not here either. I just blather on and on about nothingness and elven pages worth of posts.
Valia! Lovely, lovely, lovely to see you in here again!
They're still talking. And the house is already a mess. And there is humongous pile of laundry. It does feel more natural to have them home, but I did enjoy the quiet (don't for one moment think that I don't love my siblings, but they are my siblings. And anyone who has siblings knows what I mean).
Yes, I know what you mean.
Fanny, wonderful to see you too! *points to the top of her post as to how she's been* Summer does go by much too quickly.
Conga Rats, Cor, on becoming a college freshman! Hope the newness doesn't wear off too quickly once you start getting college assignments.

Yep, that's part of the job. So, note to everyone lifeguards are people too!
Of course I like Westley... and Indigo
Indigo?? *hopes that just a misspelling of Inigo* A funny misspelling though.
I think that's all! *quickly checks for massive errors, adds color, and submits*

Good Mortereve everyone!
I'm supposed to be studying.
Narnia is going to be there and there is a huge chance I might get to see some new footage/behind the scenes stuff from VotDT! I will let you all know!
Spy report! Send in spy report! Must have spy report! Okay, I don't really have to have it, but if you send one in I will certainly read it.
Yep, you heard correctly, I'll be starting college at the end of August. Actually, I'm going to our local community college, but it's still college.
Congratulations! College is such an amazing experience (even though you'll probably never get enough sleep, but that's just part of the fun! ).
Hello, Valia! You can call me Dot if you like (just about everybody else around the Square does). Yes, they had fun at camp. The youngest one says she didn't, but she was homesick. I'm sure she'll have fun next year. I am a sophomore at a community college right now. If all goes well I will get my Associates next spring (hooray!).
*waves to everybody that she hasn't already mentioned and heads back to her textbook*
Hey ho! *waves to all above (Benjamin—glad you enjoyed the Moot photos; Louise the 1st—wonderful to meet your sister, Louise!; Kingskid—my Moot buddy; Dot—so good to hear your enthusiasm about college; L_L—gorgeously long post, btw), and on previous pages, and unfortunately doesn't have time for nearly a full ketchup*
August is here, hurrah, which means Autumn is almost around the corner. Looking forward to those crisp, cool, colour-laden days already.
As for the Ohio Moot, we had a marvelous time: lots of fun; excellent serious times, along with everything in between, plus some awesome night-sky observations as well. May it be repeated for many years to come! NarniaWebbers really are a special breed. If any of you haven't seen the photos on Facebook yet, do take a look. As for memories, last week at this time we were beginning to watch Shadowlands prior to a wonderful star-gazing time around midnight, during which we saw Jupiter rising and five Iridium flares! Really lovely and special.
Looking up the page here, I am reminded I 'owe' a few of you PMs. Pardon my tardiness. Will get to those, hopefully sooner than later.
Lady_Liln, I am thankful for God's grace and care in your father's life.
Kingskid, so wonderful to see you in the Square again. Now if you can just convince Ti and Ata to pop back in now and then, that would be great.
to you all!

Good evening everyone, I hope that ya'll are doing well this fine mortereve.
I am telling myself that this will be a quick and short post, but I don't know how long that will last.😛
*watches UFC Live on Versus* Jon Jones taking on Vladimir Matyushenko, the main event.
My favorite ref is in charge too...should be good. Hopefully a good three rounder...or a great takedown by arm bar submission.:D*acts as if he really understands MMA* Yay, Jones just won very early in the first round. Pretty spectacular.
*waves to Jo, L_L, and dotK*
L_L, It's good to see your colorful posts.
Yes, It does seem so. It's an odd thought to be going into college and starting a mostly new life. But, I'll have Stwin with me for a year, so it should be good.
Jo, the Moot was wonderful. I greatly enjoyed it, and was thrilled to finally meet you in person.
I love your Avatar by the way.
The stargazing was pretty spectaclar.
I would love to do that. They are quite busy, but hopefully they'll make an appearance sometime soon.
Alright, I am off until sometime later. I hope that y'all have a great mortereve. God Bless.
Talk atchy'all later.

going swimming 3 times in one week for more than two hours at a time and then walking around Boston for half a day is not the best thing for my poor knees and feet .
*frowns at all the dislike at PC movie* If there is someone else out there that at least remotely likes it, please tell me. Sure, they destroyed the book for what it was, but I can still enjoy it as a movie.
*shakes head dissaprovingly* even as a movie, it's pretty lame. Sorry .
Well, both.. maybe that one fits more though. Hmm... I'm not sure. But then again I don't "know" him as well as some others, as in, I haven't slightly obsessively tracked down ever single interview that he's in.
yeah I think ASINABP fits better, but High Life Scenery is good too. Haha, I think he might, but I'm not positive .
*Checks* well, Amazon Japan has it for 1822 yen, and if I completed my album on iTunes, I could get it for the equivalent of 813 yen.. so, I think I'll go with the iTunes download, although I really wanted to have this one physically. I don't want to spend that much on it, knowing that it might not even get here on time. I'll download it the day before I go, to give myself something to enjoy/look forward to.
no amazon! lol you know how I love my physical copies .
Yeah.. although I understand it's hard for them to wait while I'm gone for years at a time.. I'm afraid of losing the friends I have now, when I go back, no matter how much they say they'll stay in touch. It's not the same when you're not there physically - they tend to expect you to make new friends and get on with your life. Ah.. but isn't it a bit hard that you rarely/never get to meet them?
Mmhmm. Yeah it's hard...really hard sometimes. But you can still talk, and you can be close to someone without ever seeing them .
Yeah.. (I say that a lot, don't I? ) I always want to stay angry at someone, stay feeling hurt, because I feel like I have a right to, and it seems easier than giving it up. But until we do, we'll never really be free.
exactly.
For me I think it's just the connection with the evil character of another radio drama that's doing it. But I do love Liam Neeson's version of Aslan.
. Neeson is ok, but I think his voice is too gentle. Not wild enough.
*shudders* Plus, you just listed everything my friends love. But, Lifehouse is more than half decent, you should know that. And I thought you hated Justing Bieber.. ?
Yes, Lifehouse is more than half decent, but Beiber is less than half . No...well I used to hate him, but that was mainly b/c he was popular . Once I listened to his stuff...well I believe he has real talent, he just uses it badly .
Aw, I'm sorry the pizza didn't agree with you, GTG. You'd have a terrible time at our house. We eat pizza a lot.
. It's not really the pizza, it's what it's made with. The pizza I make doesn't give me a stomach ache, but then we make it with home-milled flour, cheese from a local organic co-op, and tomatoes and other veggies from out community farm .
Yes and no. Aslan does sound odd in a couple of places, but I agree he is more majestic and almost wild than the Liam Neeson version. There is one scene where I absolutely love the Radio Theater Aslan: the scene with Shasta in HHB. He just sounds so perfect.
I never thought he sounded odd until everyone kept saying that . Lol, everyone loves that scene, but it really is the best .
GtG, I love swimming, but I do not think I could swim quite that often. I might turn into a fish.
And I do agree with you there, Carrie has a much better voice. Taylor live...ouch.
LOL. Yes, there are actually mutiple hunting channels. We have The Outdoor Channel, the Pursuit channel, and the Hunt Channel. Also, you can see hunting on sportsouth, ESPN, Versus.... I think there are probably others depending on what part of the country you are in.
What you can do with bowling alley music is ignore the lyrics and just bob your head with the beat.
lol. I like to swim alot so I didn't mind too much, but my skin did .
. It's funny b/c I used to consider her my favorite female vocalist but now I can't stand to listen to her stuff b/c besides the fact that I hate most of the lyrics ( ) I know her voice is all auto-tuned .
Haha, I'll have to see if we have any of those .
Lol, I could do that, except I don't even like the style of music- I am a hater of pop .
I know this is to Cor, but I had to say something about it. I understand where you are coming from- my younger sister has known pretty much what she is hoping to do for the past four or five years, and my older brother has known what he wants to do for all his life pretty much. It was hard for me to except that my sister knew what she wants and I, the older one, didn't know. Just rest assured that God WILL lead you to what He has in mind- but that that leading may be something that happens subconciously without you knowing it. In fact, He's most likely already leading you on that path by giving you interests and hobbies that may someday blossom into something more. Obviously I don't know how my story is going to end, but just last month, after over a year at least of not knowing and of feeling so lost and negatively different and untalented because I didn't know, the Lord began to reveal the picture to me, although it was only a little at a time. I think perhaps one of the things that comes out of our time of not knowing, and all the emotions that accompany it, is that it really teaches us to rely on the Lord, even, and especially, when everyone around us knows what they want to do. I think it teaches us to focus only on Him, and not on the others around us. Or something like that. That being said, it really isn't easy not knowing, especially when younger siblings do know.
Thank you for the encouragment .
;)) I kind of like 2-3 Avril Lavigne songs believe it or not. But I've seen a few of the lyrics to some other stuff by her and was pretty shocked. Yuck.
ugh really! I can't stand her!
College Freshman!!! Yep, you heard correctly, I'll be starting college at the end of August. Actually, I'm going to our local community college, but it's still college.
fun fun !
@ Ali. As of the writing of that post, yes I was still at my grandmothers. Now, of course, I'm at home.
I see...
so, besides going to college, what going on with you?
Hey, GtG! How're you doing?
um, ok. I'm tired, have a head and stomach ache, and I'm starting to fight depression again, but besides that, I'm good . How are you?
Doing good
that's good .
..... Yes I will admit a few good parts... precious few .
yep. So which parts did you think were good?
Just finished Prince Caspian and now I'm waiting for Voyage of the dawn to come in....
wait- you don't have your own copies of the books?!
That would be nice
we dip marshmallows and pretzels and fruit in it- veeeery good .
*rolls eyes* Why did you have to ask that? Now I have to go back and check!
*comes back* Hmm not really sure
mwuhaha you went back and checked yourself!!!
you are sooo weird .
That is probably my most used NW smilie... Yours is... Well you know...
yep... ( )
Yeah that is one thing I think about some times: "If I died how would they know hat happened to me?"
mmhmm...I know my sisters would post something, but that would be kinda weird. "Hi this is Ali's sister, ___ . I was practicing shooting clay pigeons yesterday and she suprised me so, well..."
Hehe
Yes Mum (<--- LWW Movie quote )
ooh proper respect!
*thinks* I guess but the only time I got them from you you rolled your eyes afterward... BTW Is going to send a PM if he can get the chance after he is done catching up...
NOT TRUE!!! But anyway...
Well...
. His name is Lucas! I know it! and you should trust me somewhat by now!
Good ones too!
HA! From your point of view .
Haha!
My sister says "I just get used to it" And one of my brothers likes it. WHAT HOW COULD YOU SAY THAT!
you are just out to prove me wrong in every way possible aren't you ? But I don't get used to it- I love it and it's my favorite Aslan voice !
I took my whole first year in college before I was really sure about going into nursing. My closest brother has always been pretty sure of what he wants to do, so I know where you're coming from. It can be hard, but you will figure it out eventually. Enjoy the time you have now to explore your interests, it goes by fast.
thanks for the hug .
What are some of your favorite tracks?
well I've only listened to 5, but I hope to get the CD sometime next month! Of those I've heard, I like Brielle, Captains of the Sky, A Little Opera Goes a Long Way, and Tennis Elbow. Oh look, that's all of them!
Yeah, new probably wasn't the best word, but I haven't really updated my list since we switched from the old forum, so that's why I'm trying to get a new list going. *mutters to self, blue for Ali. . . *
thank you!
*waves to Lys* do catchup!
*waves to Jo* hi !

Yes, Fanny, our defensive campaign of headquarters (er, home) was successful. We kept up our defenses vigilantly and our one intruder was quickly dispatched (A scorpion. We managed to safely get him out without any casualties to our troops, though). Seriously, yes, it went well. And that is a fun coincidence!
Yes, it was. Mmhmm---though, I don't think anything all that exciting has happened around here since I was born. Ah, I see. I'm sure there's something of interest about logging, though.
Okay, Queen Susan. Woah, eh, yeah, I don't think I've ever heard that Turner song. Yes, he does go rather deep on "Would You Go With Me". Oh, have you heard "Why Don't We Just Dance"? That's a rather fun song.
Somehow, lys, I doubt that others have an obsession with American accents. But I suppose I really don't know. I do, however, know that after spending several months listening to various British accents, some American accents sounds really, really harsh and painful.
It's been ages since I went swimming, but when I was little, I was mainly scared/slightly in awe of the lifeguards more than anything else.
Hullo, Benjamin! I'm doing pretty well. And you?
kk, that's what I'd figured. Is that going to bother you a lot, or will you just have to live with less hunting opportunities?
And it's really hard, too, because you have no guarantees of shooting anything when you go, of course. At any rate, I hope you can still have some enjoyable hunting times.
It's good to see you as well, Miss Rose! And thanks. How're you doing?
~LL~! It's lovely to "see" you again, too.
Yes, those nursing textbooks are HUGE. And, ooh, will your uniform srubs look spiffy? My sister had to have her's in the school colour, and with the school patches on the sleeve, but no special work for the college name. Will the name be embroidered on? Or will it be patches as well? And are they in the school colour(s)?
How are you liking Avatar: The Last Airbender?
Alright, Dot it is then! Glad to hear your siblings enjoyed camp, at least mostly. Aw, yeah, going off to camp can make one a bit homesick at times. Actually, leaving home at all can make one homesick some.
Ah, okay! Hurrah for the Associates! Do you mind if I ask what you're studying? Oh, and I'm a junior (wow, hard for me to believe! ) this fall, majoring in Mechanical Engineering.
Hello, Jo! How're you doing?
Oh, GtG! I hope you feel better soon. Go get some rest or something, okay?
Me? Oh, I'm doing pretty well. Trying not to die in the heat here---it's still almost 90 F right now. Seriously, though, yeah, I'm doing fine.
*waves to anyone else lurking and slips off*

Hey, Kingskid! It's been forever since I've seen you in here ... we must be constantly missing each other somehow. Anyways, nice to see you about!
Lady (and everyone else interested), my username is pronounced "Lie-sahn-duhr", so I've always thought that "Ly" makes more sense as a nickname. "Lys" just creates problems, as we have seen. BTW, do you really keep a document titled The Epic Files? That's just ... awesome. (or, for lack of a better term, Epic. )
Looking up the page here, I am reminded I 'owe' a few of you PMs. Pardon my tardiness. Will get to those, hopefully sooner than later.
Yes, yes ... or e-mails ... to people's grown-up e-mail accounts, that is.... (hint hint, nudge nudge)
*waves to Lys* do catchup!
No.
*still hasn't listened to "A Little Opera Goes a Long Way," but may in the morning*
Oh, and I really do like the Radio Theatre Aslan (David Suchet) and don't think he sounds weird at all - and he certainly sounds a lot less "tame" than either of the movie Aslans.
Valia: I hope my accent didn't sound harsh and painful!
I think a lot of the kids are rather in awe of me, actually - it's just the parents that treat me like part of the scenery (at least when I'm being quiet). Several of my fellow lifeguards have commented that I can be rather scary on stand. But that was last year and I feel I've mellowed out since then. Plus, most of them know me now, and are more inclined to laugh than anything else at my antics. For instance, yesterday a female guard was trying to get this little latino boy to stop running, but he didn't appear to understand, so I seized the megaphone from her and started yelling at him in Spanish. I swear, every other guard at the pool cracked up immediately.
Ugggh, so tiiiiired. Probably shouldn't even have written this post. You know it's bad when pop-up ads start to befuddled you. I was on a site for opera reviews just now, and clicked for a list of recommended recordings of Giulio Cesare, and was quite confused when I got a picture of a slice of pizza instead. Of course, the list came up a few seconds afterwards, but I did spend a split second wondering how I could have come up with pizza instead of a Handel opera ... anyway....

*waves to Lady-Liln* hi! how are you?
daughter of the king: yes! if there is anything to report, I will send it in! I can't wait.....
at Soulfest in 2005, they were advertising for LWW and they had the teaser trailer. along with it, there was some behind the scenes footage and interviews! this is why I think I am going to get more information/footage on VotDT! I hope so! Walden Media always has a booth at Soulfest and they advertise whatever movie is coming out next that they are putting on!
I must dash!

Hello all! *Waves*
That's because she's sitting downstairs amongst all your doll house stuff, isn't it? She's been rather neglecting her other duties.
Yes, unfortunately for you, it is.
Winter: Hey! I'm doing well, and you?? The rest of today I'll probably be helping mom prepare some for a bridal shower we're having at our house tomorrow. Yesterday I went to the zoo with some friends, and after supper we went to a "party" thing too. What've you been up to?
That's good! Is it for a friend or relative (the bridal shower, I mean)? Ooh, zoos are such fun. Is there one near you or do you have to treck an hour to get there, like we do? I've not been up to much, finishing off physical science, and trying to finish literature. I've worked on my dollhouses some, too, which is fun.
Of course I go by my full name in casual conversation! (I'm in a silly mood right now, can you tell?) I have four nicknames, daughter, dotk, Dot, and Dotty. Call me by which ever one that strikes your fancy.
Don't worry, I'm always in a silly mood. I think I shall call you Dot, it's kinda cute. I go by Winter or Winty, if you'd like a nickname for me.
*waves to.. WinterStar,....*
*Waves back* How are you?
*Waves to pogginfan*
Fanny!!! *hugs*
Ahh, I see Winter. Glad it wasn't anything serious.
So am I. I mean, we'd never had someone faint during VBS before it was rather unnerving, even if no one actually noticed.
*has a lovely giggling fit at The Ruby and Winter Hour of Pure Nonsense and Square Fun*
Glad you're amused! *Laughs at the title, and makes a mental note for the suggestions box*
*hugs Winty and tells her she needs to stick around*
I'll try!
Well, she's not here either. I just blather on and on about nothingness and elven pages worth of posts.
Well, it's good to know she didn't run off and go find a job with someone else. And you're not really blathering.
Jo!!! I haven't "seen" you in forever!
See y'all!

*comes in the square twirling and singing "If My Heart was a House" be Owl City*
seriously, his music will pick me up anytime . I am having a happy day- spent 2 hours this morning doing a new devotion routine, started The Riddlemaster of Hed, and listened to Owl City while cleaning my room (yes I like cleaning my room ). So my pained feet and knees will not stop me today ( ) even though...
my mom told me today that I might be going to a school took a class this fall ! I hate hate HATE schools and co-ops and anything that has to do with groups of kids my age . Ugh...oh well, if I don't succeed in convincing her that I don't need to take the class (even though I kinda want to- it's a writing class!), the Lord will, somehow, help me through it...*sigh*
*puts on Owl City again before she gets too depressed*
Oh, GtG! I hope you feel better soon. Go get some rest or something, okay?
Me? Oh, I'm doing pretty well. Trying not to die in the heat here---it's still almost 90 F right now. Seriously, though, yeah, I'm doing fine.
thanks . As you can see above, I'm feeling better today .
Lol I love the heat- I'm about to cry when I see our leaves are already changing color out here . But I'm glad you're doing good .
Lady (and everyone else interested), my username is pronounced "Lie-sahn-duhr", so I've always thought that "Ly" makes more sense as a nickname. "Lys" just creates problems, as we have seen.
Aww but I like Lys! I've always said the "Ly" part like "lint". I mean the y sound. So Lys would be "liss" not "lice" or "lies".
No.
*still hasn't listened to "A Little Opera Goes a Long Way," but may in the morning*
Oh, and I really do like the Radio Theatre Aslan (David Suchet) and don't think he sounds weird at all - and he certainly sounds a lot less "tame" than either of the movie Aslans.
well fine then, but do answer the question I asked you a few pages back!
do so! It's soooo cute, but I don't know really what your musical taste is...besides opera and soundtracks .
For instance, yesterday a female guard was trying to get this little latino boy to stop running, but he didn't appear to understand, so I seized the megaphone from her and started yelling at him in Spanish. I swear, every other guard at the pool cracked up immediately.
. So, you speak Spanish? Sweetness .
that last paragraph made me laugh so hard!

*Cor and Vern enter the Square on yet another hot day in August...*
Mortereve all! Ya'll keep posting way faster than I'm used to!! Oh well, time for another catch-up post...
*Cor and Vern take their usual seats at the fountain*
-----------------------------
@ Valia. VALIA!!! It's been too long since I've seen you around. Glad to see you're still with us.
Thank you! For my first semester I will be taking: History, Language, Math, Orientation and Music Appreciation. All the basics really that will roughly be 13 hours of credit.
@ Fanny. Thank you, thank you.... *bows* Look above at the list I gave Valia for the classes I'll be taking.
I was hoping to do most of my work via online courses, but everyone kept advising me to start with on campus classes, so that's what I'm doing. Orientation will be online, though.
Yes, as long as you can enjoy them from the comfort of your home. Being out in one? not so enjoyable. Yes, especially in the Southern US.
Very good! Glad to hear you have had an excellent and are doping well. My summer has been.... different. Neither good nor bad, which I guess is good.
@ Lys. Sooo, are you trying to take Stardf place as "the-member-who-stops-by-the-Square-with-random-posts"?
Anyway, I don't believe other countries are as obsessed with our accents as we are of theirs. Most other countries are probably too busy scratching their heads at some of our "weird" ways.
@ Ben. Sorry, yes that addressed to you. On the 18th you asked how the Royal Family was doing, so I answered you.... much later.
@ KK. Thank you most kindly, KK! Yes, hopefully my first semester will go smoothly. It will be a completely new experience being in an actual class room...
You really begin to appreciate how amazing an AC is when you don't have one. One of the greatest inventions ever, I think.
@ LL. I'm afraid I don't have the power to banish people... Besides, even if I did you might come back to haunt me sometime.
GAHHHHH!!!!! *SPLASH!*
*Marvelous! That was possibly the best one yet!! Vern assists (Re: plucks Cor out of the fountain by his collar) the Prince in exiting the fountain. You should really be more careful around fountains, Cor. Especially when you go off to college. *
I have no idea how you and Vern started all this "pushing me into the fountain" business. Maybe it was something I said that ticked ya'll off? *Cor retires to one of the nearby benches to dry off and contemplate the origins of "Fountain Dunking"*
Hey! Hey!! HEy!!! *Cor ducks behind a bench and finds some handy water balloons of his own which he begins to throw at LL in retaliation*
Thanks, LL!! Eh, heheh..... thanks for those comforting words?
@ Dot. Not enough sleep??
@ Ali. Besides College? Pretty much just enjoying the last few weeks of vacation I have. Nothing too big going on.
----------------------------------
Alright, I think that covers all my catching-up. Talk with all of you later!
*Cor and Vern exit the Square*
