Good Mortereve everyone! I hope everyone has been having a pleasant July so far? I most certainly have. I had a lovely Dominion Day as well, my parents, brother, and cousin, went to Canada's capital to see the Queen who was visiting for Canada's 143rd birthday. There was estimated 100,000 people on Parliament Hill, but my family survived admirably. And THEN they got to go visit the War Museum... fortunate fellows. ;)) They got really good seats and were able to see the Queen quite well, as well as catch her speech, and Prime Minister Harper's speech as well, both of which were capital. The rest of the "show" was, eh, not so capital. My sister and I watched it on TV, and, well, yeah. Easily forgettable.

Before that my Mom, sister, aunt, and I, were on our trip to the States. That was capital indeed, and on the way home we got to stop off at wisewoman's house for lunch, which she graciously made us. We got to visit her books too, which was fun. ;)

And now, for catchup.

Well, for the past week, I've been mostly working the dining room (keeping everything clean and well-stocked, taking trays) and being trained at the front registers. No cooking of the food, thank goodness. ;)) And then yesterday, I worked at a register solo for the first time! :D Which was so fun, but rather nerve-wracking (I messed up a lot of poor people's orders at first). And I think I need to grow a few more arms in order to handle the lunch rush. :p

I'm glad to hear that everything has been going well for you- that must have been nerve wracking about running the register solo for the first time, I'm sure you'll do wonderful quickly, though, if you haven't yet attained the skills. Extra arms sounds like a very needed necessity in our business, eh? ;)

Ah, I see! :) I think those private, family-owned restaurants tend, overall, to have better standards and quality than fast-food (with a few exceptions). So it's really neat that you work in one! :D Do you serve a certain style of food, or a little bit of everything?

I haven't eaten in many restaurants of either style, but I think I agree with you. Plus I think I like the whole style of the family owned sit down style moreso than even the fast food sit down style (ie, McDonald's), it's just a nicer...air, I would think. :)

We serve a little bit of everything, I think. I haven't noticed that we put an emphasis on any particular style or theme, at least. I worked again today, twas busy but all in all good. :) Especially making pizzas. I think I can reasonably say I have mastered the rolling out of pizza dough. :D

Oh, oh! Would you please do it? (and would you let me be a fellow producer? ;) ) MP is so desperately in need of an excellent adaptation. The other versions always make me feel like the producers were rather afraid of MP (which then brings up the question, why make it at all?) And just imagine if it could be made by people who for once, don't think that Austen needs to be "modernized"! :D

I'll think about it. ;)) You most certainly can be a fellow producer, and director, and everything else! :D It would be fantastic to see MP, or any Jane Austen, made now a days into a film where there was no feeling like to draw audiences in they have to modernize it. :) I really do think that Austen would do wonderful without those modern themes. There are some more "serious" themes in MP which perhaps have some producers/directors approaching the book with trepidation, I agree, but I think that could be because they don't have the right perspective on some of the themes. Austen clearly wrote those themes, ie
to show that it was wrong; it was sin. Most people probably wouldn't agree with it, and want to twist that around and completely construe the light in which that event was originally shown. Instead of showing it to be clearly wrong, they would want to make it be okay....which is obviously not what Austen intended. Anyway.

I don't remember really liking anyone, but with the exception of Fanny and Mr. Crawford, I do think it was the actors' portrayal rather than the actual script. However, I didn't care for either the writing or acting of Fanny and Crawford, and it's hard to have a successful Mansfield Park without those two. ;)

I wish I had this on DVD so I could view it again; I'd love to see it again. >_> I definitely concur with you, you need strong actors and characterisation of main characters for the thing to be a success.

Yes, indeed! It will be 'officially' taken care of one of these days. (And you can be sure that it will be a most grand and festive *tearful* occasion). ;) My workshop went wonderfully... thanks for asking! :) I had a fantastic time with my old friends (most of which I hadn't seen for a year) as well as making new ones. I learned quite a lot, gained more experience, and had a wonderful concluding concert (where I actually ended up leading my group in the piece and having a solo -- exciting!). So yes... it was indeed a week to remember! [/end of ramble]

Has it all been officially taken care of? And if so, how did the occasion go? Was there tears to merit the occasion? ;)) ;) I'm so glad your workshop went well, seeing friends, learning, gaining experience, and being able to use what you learned and such in the concert.... sounds great! :) How is life for you now?

Yep, that was quite a few. ;)) It was mostly couples from our church, but a few from another church in the area as well. :) And yes, it went quite well!! I heard someone say that they thought it went as well as it could go--so it must have gone really, really well. ;))
Yes, my sewing projects are going well. :D I hope to finish a blouse on Monday when Mom holds a sewing class here!
I've really been enjoying summer as well. :D Yesterday we went to a graduation a few hours away--didn't get home until 1:00 this morning. ;)) My first thought when I woke up this morning was "YIKES! It's 11:00???" I haven't slept that late in two years. Actually, probably 3 or 4. I forget which year it was. ;)) 2006 I think. *laugh* Not like it really matters.

That's fantastic about the graduation going well! :) Good stuff indeed!

Were you able to finish your blouse? How did it go?

Hehe! ;)) Sleeping in is somewhat fun, but I have discovered the joys of waking early...it's so lovely early in the morning. :) How is life for you? Anything interesting & fun?

Fanny... Where are you? I'm sure you have all sorts of interesting things to tell me. Like, where Alberta really is.

At the time you wrote this, I was watching my friends & family recover from my huge purchases at a lovely half price bookstore in Ohio, and also enjoying a bittersweet film with the same said friends and family. ;)) And you? :D

Now I'm a little thrown off, because my mom got the next season of another show to watch on vacation last week, and when we got back, she took out an entirely different show to watch. So I can't remember if we finished Get Smart or not, but I assume we did. Have you finished?

Oh dear! (I think?) We went on vacation as well, so all Get Smart watching on my end was halted. I'm still going through Season 5, and making slow progress. ;))

How was your vacation, though? I hope it was good!

School's out. ;) Thank you, and the same to you. :)

Hurray! :D And how is your life going?

Happy Canada Day! Uh... didn't you guys just have a holiday? *gets confuzzled*

And a smashing Happy Dominon Day to you! My brother and I are taking back the term "Dominon Day" vs. "Canada Day", as we like the former much, much, better, and think it speaks more elequantly about why at least us celebrate July 1st better than "Canada Day". And we did just have a holiday, that was Victoria Day, May 23/24th. :)

Anywho. I must be running off....cheers, cheerios, and plenty o' milk to y'all. (Make sure it's the fat free, calorie low kind, tho, as I shan't endorse any other kind, nor claim to be responsible for any negative side effects that you get from the fat high, calorie high, kind. You are suitably warned).

*yawns*
I'm sleepy, in a relaxed kinda way.. (-|
I'm also feeling a lot better about VDT's late release... I suppose I'll start feeling bitter again once December comes around, but until then I'm just going to pretend I'm seeing it in December like everyone else. :p

Oh man, that's so sad! I'm sorry!! Is there any chance of them moving up the release date??

Thanks for the sympathy.. :) I suppose they might move it up, but it's on Fox Japan's website, so I think it's pretty official. :(

Aslan's Country: what!???!?? oh, I feel so bad for you!

Thanks.. and how are you doing? :)

*waves to Betsie* Hi! I don't think we've met? :)

Awww, that is too bad! I've never understood exactly why they release movies like that. It kind of makes sense for the country that produces the movie to get it first, but then everyone else should get it at the same time.

Yes, I mean, I know they have to work on subtitles and so on, but I don't understand why it seems to take Japan so much longer than all the countries surrounding it. 8-|

Ruby, it sounds like you had a great time. :) I would love to go to country for a month.. can't remember the last time I saw green.. hehe, not quite, but urban Tokyo does get to me sometimes. ;)

aww I'm soooooo sorry for you!

Um well I read The Bell at Sealey Head recently which was a lovely lovely book by Patricia McKillip. And I also read The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan which was pretty good . What about you?

Thanks. :) Like I said, I'm feeling better about it, at least for the moment.
I've never heard of The Bell at Sealey Head. Care to explain what it's about? :) Ooh, and I didn't know Rick Riordan had written other books. Is it at all similar to Percy Jackson, or not?
I've read about 10 books this past week, because I've just been lying around the house. But they've mostly just been rereads.. what I'm really reading at the moment is Arthur, the third book in Stephen Lawhead's Pendragon Cycle, about the Arthurian legends. Not usually my style, but my dad recommended/made me read it. :p And it's not bad.. Apart from that, I'm hoping to reread LOTR this summer, and a whole bunch of other stuff.
(If you haven't gathered this from the paragraph I just wrote, I love reading and tend to babble on about it ;) )

Aslans Country, what a shame about Voyage not coming out until February in Japan. What would be the reasoning for that?

I don't know, really, but it happens with a lot of movies. I imagine it's to do with subtitles and dubbing and all of that, but they manage to release them at the same time as the rest of the world on the rare occasion that they want to. 8-| *sigh* I think I'm still a little bitter. :p

Well my sister had a baby! And she named it Edmund! I was very excited about that .

I just had to comment, that that is very cool. ;)

*waves to daughter of the King* I don't think I've talked to you, although I've seen you around ever since I joined Narniaweb. ;) Hi. :)

Hurray! And how is your life going?

Indeed. :) I'm doing very well, thanks. This break is much needed, at least for the moment. In a couple of weeks I'll most likely be complaining of boredom, but we'll see. ;) How are you doing?

Anywho. I must be running off....cheers, cheerios, and plenty o' milk to y'all.

;)) I don't know why, but that made me laugh.

Anyway, I'll be off now. Happy 4th of July to everyone in the US!

*pops in* Happy July 4th!

In honor of the 4th... The ENTIRE Star Spangled Banner by Francis Scott Key

The Star Spangled Banner:

Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines in the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner! Oh long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion,
A home and a country should leave us no more!
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!

Happy 4th of July to all! (Though it's about to end in the eastern part of the country).

Nice signature, Benjamin. :) I watched that episode recently, as part of my review of season 1 before the new movie came out.

Enjoy your time in Colorado! My visits there have been very enjoyable - though last time it was just a bit too hot (but at least in the summer it tends to be a 'dry' heat, as they say - quite unlike the air outside right now, which is really heavy and humid). Ah well, in less than 4 months we'll likely have snow on the ground. :)

cepp!! :) Enjoy your break, but be sure to hang around here, 'kay?

Oh I see. So I see a little tongue sticking out at me because of my age? MODS! IS THIS RIGHT? IS SHE ALOUD TO DO THIS TO ME?

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

Ah, winter, so you've actually delivered yellow books. I see... *thinks that could turn a tad tiresome---after two years*

Well hullo there, Poggy! It's been awhile. And, er... hurray for the summer math and science... How are they coming along?

VotD doesn't release until February in Japan, AC? Really? Wow. That's even after my birthday. That would be rather depressing.. ;))
Oh, and I absolutely love your avatar! It's beautiful.

*sends a wave back to Betsie* Hmm. And about that nickname... I suppose I'll just tell you a bit about myself? ;)) Well, let's see... I'm a rather quiet girl, introverted around most people (except close friends, who see my more crazy side). I don't like being the center of attention, and normally prefer to stay in the background. I love my violin, as well as other random things---scrapbooking, drawing, reading, writing, traveling, languages, and photography, to name a few. I'm also excellent at procrastinating. I'm very famous in my own little world for starting huge, magnificent projects and then leaving them to collect dust in my closet. ;)
Hm. Not sure what else to put, or even if that was helpful. If you would like something else or to know something more, please let me know. I'm terrible at thinking things like that up on my own.
I just fished a few more books out from the library last Monday. Several non-fictional WWII accounts (which always fascinate me), two from September 11 (one fictional and the other not), one about a blind girl in the Middle East, and a few others. After many promptings from fellow NarniaWebbers, I also decided to find and read the Attolia series--which has not happened yet, due to procrastination and strange libraries. The same goes for Lord of the Rings.
(I get bugged for reading numerous books at once, too. I honestly like it, though. No one can understand.) ;))
I like that photo of overalls! It reminds me of something Amelia Earhart would have worn. It looks spunky, adventurous, and wonderfully old-fashioned--much more than a pair of jean ones.

My, Mel, a skirt embroidered with the book of Jude? That sounds lovely! --As well as time-consuming. I can just see myself getting halfway through and then losing interest... wandering off to plan another project... ;))
Oh, I draw all sorts of cards. Thank-you ones, mostly. I usually just make it unique for the person I'm making it for. ;)) No detailed plan, really. I just add and experiment as I go. ;)) Fortunately, they seem to turn out decent.

And now, after that half-a-page, I'm off. *will return to finish catching up later* Mortereve, all!

EDIT: All-right. Time for the back-breaker. ;)

That's pretty neat about the free kibble organization, Lady Courage. Rescued cats are fed just through answered trivia questions? How cool! (And 'lol' about the "Tigger" option!).

My dad loved the name "Momo", Ben. My mom liked (and still does) "Nadia" (after Nadia Comaneci, a famous gymnast), because Sofie is quite the impressive athlete when it comes to climbing, somersaults, flips, and swinging around on bars. ;)) But ah well, Sofie she [the kitten] became. *would upload pictures, if it weren't for the slooowww internet*

Well guys are not really unromantic (at least some) but they just don't notice everything that gals do ;))

This made me laugh pretty hard. ;))
And... a six night cruise? Wow... how exciting! *has never been on a cruise* Will this be your first time?
This here is a tad random, but... Can you really ride a unicycle? (Or have I already asked you that?) I noticed you 'entered the Square' on one earlier up the page, and got curious.

Ti'ana! It's refreshing to see your face avatar again. ;) (I always picture you as Lucy now... even after seeing your real picture. "That can't be Ti... Ti looks like Lucy!") Heh. Funny how that happens.
So you're still working at the fire department? We went to a 4th of July breakfast at our local station yesterday. Pancakes, sausage, orange juice. It was good.
(Btw, tell your sister to get in here sometime as well.) :)

*waves cheerily to Ruby* Your grandmother's house sounds wonderful! I love little places out in the country; I want to live in one someday... with a dog. (Which I've always wanted)

*wishes she could participate in the TWHF Reading Group this time 'round, but can't for lack of time* Enjoy, those of you who are! :)

Ho, ho. Another reminder of my procrastinating nature... ;))

I planned to participate,
Absolutely so,
And then away to other duties
I did sadly go.

I procrastinated right at the very beginning---Pathetic Little Me. :p
The pets are now getting along fine as rain! Well... Chico still has his phases of dominance and jealousy, but they're less frequent now. AND, the dog is going home tonight! We shan't miss her a wink. Poor thing; she meant well, I'm sure, but when one has a reeking mass of hair breathing in their face all night long and yapping all day, er-----they don't seem to care much about whether the intentions are good or bad. ;)

And, I see that Nick is back from vacation. Good to see you and your blue posts again! :)

*waves to Cymru and starkat* Well, well... I've heard a lot about the Square's "Old Days" from my sister, when you and yours visited quite often. Nice to see you both! :)
*hums the Star Spangled Banner along with Cep* I really love that song.
And enjoy that modding break of yours. ;)

Good mortereve, everyone!

Good good! Well at this moment look above for my answer X( :p ;))
What did you think of that season? I did not watch it because I heard it was not very good not Near as good as the first two.

Ah, yes, the Airbender reviews aren't looking very good. ;)) I've never seen the show, though.
At first, I didn't like season 3 of RH at all, but after about 3 episodes I started to like it. It definitely has a different feel from the first two, but if you can just accept that it's going to be different, then I think it's very enjoyable. :) Some of the new characters annoy, though. :P

*waves back to poggin* I'm good, other than school. How about you? :)

Same as you. :P Very good, except for school. :P Are you doing it over the summer?

I am doing good! you?

Glad to hear it! :) I'm doing quite excellent myself. What do you think of the VDT trailer?

Hello there, Fanny! How have you been? I would love for you to make a Mansfield Park movie! :D I'm almost finished reading it for the first time, but I can already safely say it's my favorite of all of Austen's works. (Sorry I randomly picked that subject out of your post, it just stood out to me :P)

Well hullo there, Poggy! It's been awhile. And, er... hurray for the summer math and science... How are they coming along?

Hello, dear Rose! How have you been? Haha, the summer math and science are coming along as well as they can, I suppose. ;)) I really like your avatar, by the way. :) I love that movie! :P

cepp!! :) Enjoy your break, but be sure to hang around here, 'kay?

Appreciating not feeling compelled to look in on the forum. No, fantasia kitty never twisted my arm.

And enjoy that modding break of yours. ;)

Thank you. I am. :)

I'll be around, in and out, here and there. Just needed a break from the feeling of obligations I have to modding; had not been giving it the attention it deserves. Life is feeling a bit congested on my end, and still God is good. :)

Rachel Marie (ramagut) is so totally looking forward to meeting you in a few weeks, Stargazer. :) And if memory serves, Princess Rosario will be there too.

“Safe?” said Mr. Beaver; “don’t you hear what Mrs. Beaver tells you? Who said anything about safe? ‘Course he isn’t safe. But he’s good. He’s the King, I tell you.”

Hi hi!

That's good :)

Well it's a little hard to explain. Erm, about this little town where there's a bell that rings every sunset and no one knows why or where it is. Also, there's a house and sometimes when you open the doors in the house they lead to another place. It's pretty awesome :) .

It's fairly similair, but PJO is better :p .

;)) I love reading too, and talking about it, except when I'm tired (-| :p .

*waves to Ali* Now don't get your dander up! I will be back as soon as I can! (Though that may be a while!) And then I will do catchup :D

haha you know me too well :p . If you hadn't posted that I would have thought you meant to snub me ;) .

Sorry about that! No really I am

haha, aww thanks

4th of July party on Saturday? Why not on 4th of July? /:)

:| B/c the 4th is a Sunday and some people wouldn't be able to come! I don't know, I wasn't hosting the party! It was fun though, I got to dress up and dance and stuff :p . Pics! http://s540.photobucket.com/albums/gg33 ... of%20July/

I have a clue of your jealousy, but I guess not to the full extent :D You don't know how excited I am about it! I have always wanted to go too, but now I'm actually going! m/ . No worries I will! ;))

Aww well I'm very very happy and excited for you! Where is it going to be?

Well to ladies I am... :P

ooh so now I'm a lady? I think we're much to rude to each other for that :p .

Rude to you? :- I am never rude to you :P ;) . Hey why is he a poor baby? He is quite good looking... Now that is :P

yeah, right, I just imagine it all! And why is he a poor baby? B/c you're insulting his cute baby looks! :p

Yes you would just have to forget me wouldn't you? :(( "They do this every year! Why! Doesn't anyone love me? Doesn't anyone care about Sid the Sloth Benjamin? Hehe ;)) :P
Not funny at all X(

;)) It is too funny. Hmm Sid...nice comparison there. Very very clever. I think I shall use it sometime... :p

Oh I see. So I see a little tongue sticking out at me because of my age? MODS! IS THIS RIGHT? IS SHE ALOUD TO DO THIS TO ME? ;)) Haha! ;)
Yeah that probably would be part of the reason :) Do you all use a sprayer or roll is out?

"Don't make me turn this thing around!" ;) ;))

*gulps* *cowers before stargazer* (I think that name fits for the moment ;)))

ack you're going to get us in trouble!!! :-o X( :p

hehe I'm 16 too :p . So it's not b/c of your age...just...idk, I use :p alot :p :p :p ;) . We'll probably have to use a paintbrush or whatever, not a sprayer. Karate Kid much? My dad's saying we can really learn martial arts this time 8-| :p .

TTFN :)
