*decides to stop procrastinating catch-up before the three pages miraculously multiply before I can say "Jack Robinson"*
Just came back from 2 hours of Spanish. Fun, fun. Well, I've finished every test for this school year with an exception of Literature. We still have one extra week of school (alas, alas. ) where I will finish that and we'll catch up on language and book reports. Yeah, I can't wait for that! [/sarcastic]
*has Tonight playing in the background and decides that is very good catchup music* ^.^
Catchup!
I'm glad you're feeling better now, Gtg! And hurrah for writing a song; when words for a song/story come to one's mind, that's always the greatest.
Ah, neat books you're reading! From the books thread, I've learnt you're done with P&P? I'm glad you enjoyed that reread! The 39 Clues series... I've heard of those, but may I ask you enlighten me on what they're about?
Kathy, all right, Kathy it is! It seems that I'm the only one who didn't read the Winnie the Pooh books when I was little! Since they're great for any age, I don't feel bad reading them only now when I'm older. LOL, yes, the random capitalization is hilarious. Adds that humerous emphasization.
Oh, I see-- it does sound a lot like a Northern Irish greeting, though! By the way, that's idescribably cool that you live in Japan.
I'm glad about your eye infection healing-that's always nice! (and school ending, too.) Yes, I finish school in a week. Soon, but this week went by soo s...l...o..w and I'm assuming the next will be the same. *wistful sigh*
@Miss R: Yes'm, Ella and I loooove to cook. (and eating isn't a bad bonus-deal at the end of that, too. ) Haha, my skill isn't anything colossal, either.
Mhmm, ice-cream is usually a pretty remedy to a hot, humid day. Eh, today's one of those days. And it's raining, too, so...
Well, yes, English and history are great in the way that there's a specific way to do something and are generally more enjoyable, but aglebra is unique and special in it's own way. There's more than one way to find a solution, and I have a weakness for visual solution-finders like the Venn diagram or the quadrant-thing for finding quadratic equations. And things can be checked to assure accuracy!
That's good! Have you enjoyed going to a private school as a change from homeschooling?
Yep, the girl we'll be watching will be coming almost all summer, I think. Except for Mondays, I believe.
Ditto! Neat about The Circle Triology. I've read one book by Ted Dekker (Blessed Child), but that's about it. I'm looking for one watered-down one as far as thrillers go.
I was looking at reading Thr3e or Green, but we'll see. Fun about starting LotR and the Attolian series! I bashfully admit that I haven't read The Two Towers or RotK, but that will be mended this summer. As for the Attolian series...those call for a re-read. I hope you enjoy them!
For me? well, right now, I'm almost done with Fairy Tales an English Translation of Hans Christian Anderson's Danish ones. Finshing Robinson Crusoe for school, and in the middle of Agnes Grey by Anne Brontë. All some interesting books. Once I'm done, then I have to think what to read next...
Ah, thank-you! Wow, it sounds like it's going to be extremely special for you; hope you have a blast. =]
Ben, Ditto, Mr. Darcy was one of my favourites, too. Very mysterious but underneat was a far-from-odious person. Ahaha, Mr. Collins and Mrs. Bennet were indeed hilarious.
Yes, sir, I am most indeed excited about summer vacation. Great about work! What's your work, if it's all right if I ask?
NG! *returns the hug* LOL, you really have to sing that ... special... song? That's a hoot. Do you do all the actions (tongue out, turn around)?
Fun about GodGirl's AG doll! She must be excited. Which doll was it?
On another note, how have you been? Do you get summer vacation?
Oh, dear, look at the time! *nearly faints* My piano teacher will be here in half an hour and I've had meager practice. *skedaddles away to practice with the number 171, and "Anna's post after NG's" in her mind* (why yes, I did write that to come back here for refrence and remembrance)
I'll be back to finish the rest of catchup! Toodles!
RL Sibling: CSLewisNarnia
Thanks, Glenstorm and Ben.
So--tomorrow there's a mini conference being held at our house... So we've been cleaning for that, etc.
My sis and bro-in-law and niece are coming tonight.
Should be fun.
Your Welcome

Yes it is . I love writing songs...
Yes I finished the day before yesterday . The 39 Clues are kinda like the National Treasure movies except all over the world and with kids and in book form. They're quite interesting, even if the writing isn't always the best quality. There is some witty stuff in there though

Yes, the movies were waaaaayyy different from the book... a far cry from the original. But I recommend it to you. It's hilarious!
Definitely - as soon as school is out.
haha, ok. Have you seen any good movies lately?
Ah.. the last time I went to the cinema was to watch Percy Jackson, ages and ages ago.
I really haven't watched any movies recently, which is unusual for me. What about you?
I keep seeing this in your posts but it never seems to show up.. is it a real smiley? Sorry, random.
AslansCountry, you have 3 more weeks of school? Hope it goes by quickly for you!
I think it is.. because there's not very much work left. I don't know why they can't just let us out, we're hardly learning anything.
Hope you're having a fun trip.
*skims and waves to various people*
Likewise! What will be, will be, and it's only when we see the full film that we will really know. Having said that, I'm quite excited for the trailer.
So ... how did the concert go? (Or have I missed your report somewhere?) And has your infection cleared up? Hope so!
One week (the trailer that is, not the movie
)
The concert went very well, thank you. Our little ensemble was even asked to play again, at the graduation next week.
And yes, my eye is much better, just a little swollen now.
EEEEEEEPPPPPP!!!!!!! I am SOOOOO excited for this movie! *jumps up and down several times*

I really do! I'm British by nationality though.

Yeah, when my dad suggested I read them again, I kind of laughed at the thought, but I know what he means now. I love random capitalization in general.. "I'm a big fan of random capitalization. It seems so unfair to the words in the middle"
That's from.. a book I read a while back.

Hey, guys and gals!
How am I, you might ask? Well, I'll tell you now... so you all don't ask me over and over.
I'm missing "my" kids very badly. When I was complaining about it yesterday before VBS, Mom was like "Well, Ea... next week you get to see your babies, and help out with OUR kids!".* And I said, "Yeah, but I want MY kids!"
I'm hopeless...
*What Mom meant, for those confused, is "Next week you get to babysit for the boys, and help out at our VBS."
Our last day went very well! Everyone had fun. It was just hard for everyone to say goodbye. (well, all the other leaders were glad it was over [for various reasons]. Me and the kids, however, were really upset and kept hugging and stuff)
This weekend might (or might not) be busy, so I don't know when I'll be in here next. But I'll try and stop by, even if just to lurk... so I can hear what's going on with all of you! Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
*would hug you all, but I don't want to add to the overusage of smilies in this post. So, just pretend I gave you all a hug!*

Ok, I know I said I'd lurk... but once I saw that movie mentioned, I had to jump in!
I LOVE THAT MOVIE!!! (well, duh! I grew up with it!
)
The sequels too, but the first one is the best.
I'm not sure what I think of them remaking it, though. One the one hand, it looks pretty good and has Jackie Chan as the teacher. But on the other hand the warning bells go off in my head "Red alert, Red alert! Why bother messing with a classic? Isn't it best to leave well enough alone?"
Besides, no one can ever replace Ralph Macchio and Pat Morita. They are just like, epic win. And I could be remembering wrong, but did you know that at Pat Morita's funeral, Ralph had said that Pat was: "Forever my Sensei."? (or something like that. I'd have to look it up) I thought that was the coolest thing!
And there are so many memorable scenes and quotes from that film! For instance: "Wax on, wax off" (most famous lines, probably)
Miyagi: [Daniel has just gotten his driver's license and Miyagi has given him a car for his birthday] Just remember, license never replace eye, ear, and brain.
[notices Daniel has suddenly gotten quiet]
Miyagi: What matter?
Daniel: I'm just scared. The tournament and everything.
Miyagi: You remember lesson about balance?
Daniel: Yeah.
Miyagi: Lesson not just karate only. Lesson for whole life. Whole life have a balance. Everything be better. Understand?
Daniel: Yeah, I understand.
Libby-

Mortereve, all!
The past, uh, eleven days have been crazy busy. But, now that I have a little while, I'll work on a catch-up post! Five pages—I think I can manage that. . .
Ben, that's fine that you only read one book at a time; most of my family's like that. My point was that reading more then one at the same time doesn't indicate that one prefers either book over the other.
I LOVE it. I'm almost done and it's very interesting and the writing is beautiful
. Actually, this is my first McKillip, but it makes me want to read more
.
Good! You definitely should read more McKillip! Ly can give you suggestions as to what next of hers to read. But, The Bell is easily one of her best.
I'm assuming you having a faster DSL connection now? Would you ever consider going with FiOS? It's finally in our area, and they've been offering better and better deals, so we'll FiOS shortly.
Yep, we're still on DSL. We've had FiOS in the area for awhile. At the moment we can't quite afford to upgrade to it, but I know it's been considered.
Let me know if it's as good as it claims to be if/when you get it.

Libby, sounds like you have a good bit of stuff planned for your summer. My only plans are, uh, work and such. Not much.
Ben, glad you enjoyed P&P!
As some of you may have heard, the roof in the shower in one of our bathrooms (the main one) decided to cave in a few months ago. We discovered that our wall was mold-infested and thus began a demolition/remodeling of our bathroom. We're in the plumbing stages and are trying to get new showers and tubs in. It's so, so hectic. The only working shower in our house right now happens to be the one in mine and my sister's bedroom. And it's the shower that doesn't have any hot water! I hate our shower. The water pressure is all messed up.
Ugh. That's horrible. Hope it's all fixed soon!

I'd love to hear this too, if you don't mind sharing with me, too.
OH!! And... I have fantastic news. *trumpet blast* I'm really, actually, and FINALLY going to a Joshua Bell concert!!! July 13th is the day, and it will be held in Chicago. Major, major outbursts of excitement and insanity are in store.

Congratulations! I don't know anything about him, but I know that when I took music appreciation my prof thought he was amazing. I hope you enjoy the show!
Bella, I've never heard them called "chocolate thumbprints" before, but I like the name! (They've always just been peanut butter cookies with kisses ).
Kathy, from what I remember the book Cheaper by the Dozen was a fun read. The most recent movie adaptation had 12 kids—and that's about as close as it got. The old adaptation is a lot closer to the book, but I can't vouch for just how close, as I was maybe 14 the last time I read the book.

That's awful! I hope you find the phone and get the dairy problems all sorted out. 'Tis nice to see you about again, btw!
Loads of old Square Onions seem to be popping up, yay!

*knows of Micheal Buble but doesn't know enough of his music to have an opinion; has never heard of Westlife* Edit: I've found a little on YouTube, and they don't seem bad, but (and perhaps one of the music videos I saw a bit of influenced this) they seem a tad too boy band-ish for my taste. I'm liking what I've found of the Sinatra stuff though. Do you have any recommendations or favorite songs?

I assume you were referring to my post awhile back, where I was ranting? I was having an off day (or two). I'm doing much better now! Thanks!
But I'll never turn away prayers... one can always use those!
You know what? This talk of The Karate Kid inspired me, so after I posted in here last, I started making some graphics. (well, after capping a few shots off of my dvd. haha!) They should be up in the Non-narnian thread at some point! (though I'd like to make more than just two sets before I do so)
Whoa... the Square certainly has caught up for its slow days. Catching up from page 171:
Ahh, I've heard quite a bit about Thr3e, Narnia Girl, though I've never read it. What were your thoughts?
I, too, am not a fan of chat speak. (With the exception of lol, btw, and rofl). It drives me insane, heh.
I, for one, would love to see a picture or two of those kids, Anna. It sounds like you've been having a grand time babysitting! And hurray for having read Cheaper by the Dozen as well. What did you think of the movies?
Heh, I don't blame you for having to count twice. It's hard to think once you're out of school, eh?
Heh, you can say that again. It's always mortifying coming back to school in the fall and having forgotten everything...
[In reply to Ted Dekker....] Agreed, Louise the Second. I honestly have no idea how he thinks up so many good plots so quickly. He's just one guy who loves what he does, I guess! And a very talented writer on top of that.
Hehe, all-righty! I'll see if I can still remember everyone who requested a PM when the concerto actually gets recorded.
Well, the only reason I'm reading the Attolian series is because of NarniaWeb. So many people suggested them, I finally decided to just do it. We'll see what I think.
And yup, Joshua Bell isn't the absolute best violinist out there... he's just the best to me. (And if you do youtube some of his recordings, be sure to look up Ave Maria. I don't know, maybe you don't really like that kind of piece... but I think it's beautiful.) And about actually being able to meet him... well, that would be a dream come true.
I'm not sure how high the chance of that happening is, though.
*waves to Sonny* I've only seen you a couple times around here, but it's good for you to drop back in! I've heard many good things about you from many good SquareOnions (namely Nick and Jo).
A lost cell phone, lys? Mm, doesn't sound good. And the same goes for the non-dairy diet. How long are you hoping/planning to maintain that? Permanently?
Do you guys grow your own strawberries, Jojo? We've been picking them by the pound for several days, and enjoying them greatly. Nothing beats fresh strawberries.... mmm.
Oooh, a very special happy [belated] fifth NarniaWeb anniversary to you, Queen Susan! (Wow, that was a mouthful of a sentence.) And no worries about forgetting... that happened to me, too.
Hope you stick around for many more years, m'dear!
Hurray for conquering your first exam, Matette! Yes, yes... I know that feeling. Now you can start breathing and relaxing again, eh?
And yes, I had a wonderful week at the music camp. This year was my last year (after having gone five times), so it was a bit sad. But other than that... And my hand even survived, which was fortunate. It's been a bit sore, but it'll get back to normal soon.
And yes, I am indeed an American! I just realized you're from Australia... how cool is that? My cousin just headed out on a two/three-week trip there. I'm so jealous!
Oh, and I ditto you about liking the '05 version of P&P "quite a lot". It seems that most NWebbers prefer the older version. I honestly don't know which I like best, however.
Well, I would agree with you about algebra, Bella. For the most part. It always seems to make sense to me, unlike some of the other math subjects (namely geometry ). And it always helps to be able to check the solution.
That's good! Have you enjoyed going to a private school as a change from homeschooling?
Overall, I would say yes. I have met so many fantastic people, made so many new friends... I honestly don't know how I survived before. I also became much more involved with my violin in praise groups and the like (which I have really enjoyed!).
Heh, I understand about the "watered-down thriller". Compared to many, I would say that the Circle Trilogy is much more watered-down then some, though it still contains a LOT of suspense, adventure, and unexpected plot twists. And yes, I hope to enjoy the Attolian series as well as many of my fellow NarniaWebbers have.
Ah, thank-you! Wow, it sounds like it's going to be extremely special for you; hope you have a blast. =]
Oh yes, it will! And thank-you. I'll definitely make it a point to tell you how it goes.
*didn't realize it was such an honor to be mentioned in one of my posts*
Oh? Well... now you do. And yay for having my special 'rose' color back! I missed it.
And no, I wouldn't mind PMing you the recording at all. (That is, granting that I actually do get around to doing it... I've talked about it for so long and nothing has ever happened. So far.)
Thank-you! I'll definitely enjoy the concert. No doubt. Only one month from tomorrow! *sighs*

And thanks for the exam well-wishes; I’ll need them for next week! (Um, along with copious amounts of tea and chocolate).
Do you have quite a heavy exam schedule? If so, you'll need added doses of chocolate. Pssst, remember there is a chocolate tree in the Square.
And it just keeps on producing bountifully, so ... help yourself. (That is, if Lady Amalthea—or her Princely son—haven't pocketed most of them already.
)
Interesting video, Matette. Thanks for the link. 'Twas good to hear Canada said "NO" to this.
Back to soundtracks: Yes, PrinceCor, Jurassic Park has a very enjoyable score, and The Dark Knight's is both suspenseful and captivating.
So I thought it was funny when my Mom called me a "Narnia Nut" today and I said "no mom I'm a Fanatic"
Good one, Ben!
*chuckles at Liberty's mom's name for her, as well*
Queen Susan, how was the mini-conference (which was *checks QS's post) today?!
*gives a cheery hobbit wave and curtsies to GtG and Bella* (Ain't she cute?
)
Cool about the concert, Aslans Country, and the invitation to play at the grad next week! Also, I'm glad your eye is improving.
So, who all is going to be online Thursday around noon for the Voyage trailer?
Sounds like you had an awesome VBS week, PA!
hi! how r u?
Uh-oh. Chatspeak!
Lady_Liln! *takes pleasure in the familiar colourful post*
The Bell is easily one of her best.
*makes a note of this for when she reads her first McKillip*
Oh, and I've been meaning to ask you what you think of the news about Del Toro dropping out of The Hobbit. Have they gotten a replacement?
Thanks for asking, as this is near and dear to my heart. ♥ Well, I'm disappointed, but not without hope. And I understand Del Toro's position, to be sure, and think he would have done a fine job adapting TH. Some folk are saying this film will not now be made, but I disagree: it's too valuable not to be pursued, and I have full confidence that someone will come forth who will do as admirable a job as DT could have. At least Peter Jackson is still on board, and is even willing to step into the Director's seat, if needed. As long as they keep Tolkien's vision, as they did with The LotR (for the most part ), the tale will be safe.
Indeed, 'tis very good to see Sonny in here again. I wonder if peterpevensie will drop by sometime as well. That'd be lovely.
Re homeschooling, I'm one of the few NarniaWebbers who wasn't home-schooled.
As for Thr3e, Louise the First, I thought it a great and very edge-of-your-seat read. Fabulous twist, too. Read it. Read it ... now!
I saw Joshua Bell's violin performance of "Ave Maria": 'tis beeaaauuutiful! A small aside: he looks so young. I like how he plays with such emotion. I'm excited for you that you can see him live!
Good to hear about your special Music Camp week, Louise. I'm glad your hand cooperated, overall. Can you only go to a certain age? Is that why this was your last year there? I can see how it would have been a bitter-sweet time this year.
I'll be back later today to make a catch-up post!
Well, dear PC, that was on Friday and ... we're still waiting. No pressure, though, of course. We just miss you, that's all. Plus there is a yummy treat I left for Vern-dear. I guess in that case, "yummy" is a relative term.
Blessed Sunday to all you SquareOnions!

*Two familiar figures enter the Square discussing the roast that is slow roasting in the Royal kitchen this evening.....*
Mortereve all! Sorry for disappearing.... again. Life has been very, very busy for the Royal Family of late and Vern and I have not been able to make it back here.
But, now we are here and.....
to all!!!!
We've really missed all of you guys (and girls)!
*Cor and Vern take their seats at the fountain as the Prince begins humming the Main theme from Legend*
Alright, now for a much overdue catch-up post.....
-----------------------------
@ Rose. Oh well, I feel ever so slightly better now.
*Of course! If they have horrendous tapestries it would be my sworn duty to relieve them of their uglyness.
*
Congrats on being able to go to the concert!!! I'm not familiar with Mr. Bell, but I know concerts are fun.
@ Bella. Life is.... hectic. Lots of stuff going on that's keeping us busy. Mostly non-interesting things, housework, preparing for Jr. college etc.
I've gotten 4 new soundtracks in the last few weeks, though.
@ AC. Yep, Vern's a dragon. *tells AC there is no reason to hide in a corner, Vern is a non-human eating dragon*
*I do have a few distant relatives who eat humans, but I and the rest of my immediate family abhor the practice. I do eat some rather strange foods (according to your human tastes), but no humans or talking pets shall ever cross my lips and land in my belly.*
@ NN. Yes, that he is. Still, there are several of his scores that are really good and a select few that are great. Ah good, glad you found it.... helpful?
@ Jo. Quite welcome, miss Jo. Yes, when I gave the CR a re-listen recently I was particularly struck by that portion of the score. Simply amazing!
Yes, that whole scene in the movie didn't really make any sense. Granted, it's even worse in the theatrical cut where the Witch King says "I will break him" and nothing... ever... comes of his threat.
*whispers to Jo to checkout Star Trek II and Legends of the Fall by Horner*
*Vern sniffs of the stew suspiciously and tries eating one of the scorpions .... only to spit it out. Ahem, I'm afraid the stew is a little... too exotic, miss Jo. Scorpions always have an unfortunate bitter taste about them.*
BTW Jo, did you know that Howard Shore has scored Eclipse (aka Twilight 3)? The score album is releasing at the end of the month. From what little snippets I've heard, Mr. Howard has actually risen above the source material and delivered a good score. At least, I hope the whole thing is good.... *crosses fingers*
*waves to Sonny and Cepp*
@ Cepp. Oh dear... FOOLSH sounds like they are getting serious about this whole "The Hobbit" film.
@ Lys. Greetings and well met, Epic One! Oh, bummer about the non-dairy diet.
*waves to the Butcher (aka Jojo)*
@ QueenSusan. Yes, it's been rather fun. You should try it sometime.
Haha! That's great about my parents!!
I trust after seeing there profile pictures you realized they were my parents and not sibs?
@ Studymate. Oh good. I didn't think there was, but still. You're quite welcome.
Well, now Vern is a much larger dragon, but he's earth toned in color.
@ LL. Yes... well, you still could have said something like "waves to Cor and Vern" or something of the like. But, never mind all that now. You have spoken (typed?) to me, so all is forgiven.
*Vern, taking LL's hint, slowly inches closer to Cor. Once close enough to the Prince, the Royal Dragon gently (yet firmly) nudges Cor into the fountain*
GAHHHH!!!!
VERN!! LL!!!!
* *
*sigh* Very well....
@ Jo, again. I'm here! I'm here!! Life happened, so that's why I'm late. At least, that's my excuse.
--------------------------------
Well, that gets everything.
Oh yes! A bit of fun news.... the soundtrack to Legend (Jerry Goldsmith) arrived in the mail yesterday!!
I had ordered it a little over a week ago and was not expecting it to arrive so soon. It's a great album and I'm very pleased with it.
Alright, I think I'll call it a night now. Goodnight all and hope everyone has a pleasant Sunday!
Night!
*Cor and Vern exit the Square*
Avvie by the great Djaq!
